Matthew 27:1-31

And when it was morning all the chiefG749 priestsG749 and the eldersG4245 of the peopleG2992 tookG2983 counsel against JesusG2424 so that they might putG2289 him to deathG2289.

And having boundG1210 him they ledG520 him awayG520, and deliveredG3860 him up to Pontius PilateG4091, the governorG2232.

Then JudasG2455, who deliveredG3860 him up, seeingG3708 that he had been condemnedG2632, filled with remorse, returned the thirtyG5144 pieces of silverG694 to the chiefG749 priestsG749 and the eldersG4245,

sayingG3004, I have sinnedG264 [in] having deliveredG3860 up guiltless bloodG129. But they saidG3004, What is that to us? seeG3708 thou [to that].

And having castG4496 down the pieces of silverG694 in the templeG3485, he left the place, and wentG565 awayG565 and hanged himself.

And the chiefG749 priestsG749 tookG2983 the pieces of silverG694 and saidG3004, It isG1510 not lawfulG1832 to castG906 them into the Corban, since it isG1510 [the] priceG5092 of bloodG129.

And having takenG2983 counsel, they boughtG59 with them the fieldG68 of the potterG2763 for a burying-ground for strangersG3581.

Wherefore that fieldG68 has been calledG2564 Blood-field unto this dayG4594.

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken through Jeremias the prophetG4396, sayingG3004, And I tookG2983 the thirtyG5144 pieces of silverG694, the priceG5092 of him that was set a priceG5092 on, whom [they who were] of the sonsG5207 of IsraelG2474 had set a priceG5092 on,

and they gaveG1325 them for the fieldG68 of the potterG2763, according as [the] LordG2962 commanded me.

But JesusG2424 stoodG2476 before the governorG2232. And the governorG2232 questionedG1905 him, sayingG3004, Art thou the KingG935 of the JewsG2453? And JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, Thou sayest.

And when he was accusedG2723 of the chiefG749 priestsG749 and the eldersG4245, he answeredG611 nothing.

ThenG5119 saysG3004 PilateG4091 to him, Hearest thou not howG4214 manyG4214 things they witness against thee?

And he answeredG611 him not so much as oneG1520 word, so that the governorG2232 wonderedG2296 exceedinglyG3029.

NowG1161 at [the] feastG1859 the governorG2232 was accustomedG1486 to releaseG630 oneG1520 prisonerG1198 to the crowdG3793, whom they wouldG2309.

And they had thenG5119 a notable prisonerG1198, named BarabbasG912.

They thereforeG3767 being gatheredG4863 togetherG4863, PilateG4091 saidG3004 to them, Whom will ye that I releaseG630 to you, BarabbasG912, or JesusG2424 who is called ChristG5547?

For he knew that they had deliveredG3860 him up through envyG5355.

But, as he was sittingG2521 on the judgment-seat, his wifeG1135 sentG649 to him, sayingG3004, Have thou nothingG3367 to do with that righteousG1342 [manG1342]; for I have sufferedG3958 to-day manyG4183 thingsG4183 in a dreamG3677 because of him.

But the chiefG749 priestsG749 and the eldersG4245 persuadedG3982 the crowdsG3793 that they should beg for BarabbasG912, and destroyG622 JesusG2424.

And the governorG2232 answeringG611 saidG3004 to them, Which of the twoG1417 will ye that I releaseG630 unto you? And they saidG3004, BarabbasG912.

PilateG4091 saysG3004 to them, What thenG3767 shall I do with JesusG2424, who is called ChristG5547? They all sayG3004, Let him be crucifiedG4717.

And the governor saidG3004, What evilG2556 thenG1161 has he done? But they criedG2896 more than ever, sayingG3004, Let him be crucifiedG4717.

And PilateG4091, seeingG3708 that it availed nothing, but that ratherG3123 a tumult wasG1510 arising, having taken waterG5204, washed his handsG5495 before the crowdG3793, sayingG3004, I amG1510 guiltless of the bloodG129 of this righteous oneG3762: seeG3708 ye [to it].

And all the peopleG2992 answeringG611 saidG3004, His bloodG129 [be] on us and on our childrenG5043.

ThenG5119 he releasedG630 to them BarabbasG912; but JesusG2424, having scourged [him], he deliveredG3860 up that he might be crucifiedG4717.

ThenG5119 the soldiersG4757 of the governorG2232, having takenG3880 JesusG2424 with [them] to the praetoriumG4232, gatheredG4863 against him the wholeG3650 band,

and having taken off his garment, putG4060 on him a scarletG2847 cloak;

and having woven a crownG4735 out of thornsG173, they putG2007 it on his headG2776, and a reedG2563 in his rightG1188 handG1188; and, bowing the knee before him, they mockedG1702 him, sayingG3004, HailG5463, KingG935 of the JewsG2453!

And having spitG1716 upon him, they tookG2983 the reedG2563 and beatG5180 [him] on his headG2776.

And whenG3753 they had mockedG1702 him, they took the cloakG2440 off him, and putG1746 his own clothesG2440 on him, and ledG520 him awayG520 to crucifyG4717.
