Matthew 21:23-46
23And when he cameG2064 into the temple, the chiefG749 priestsG749 and the eldersG4245 of the peopleG2992 cameG2064 to him [as he was] teachingG1321, sayingG3004, By what authorityG1849 doest thou these thingsG3778? and who gaveG1325 thee this authorityG1849? 24And JesusG2424 answeringG611 saidG3004 to them, I alsoG1161 will askG2065 you oneG1520 thingG3778, which if ye tellG3004 me, I alsoG1161 will tellG3004 you by what authorityG1849 I do these thingsG3778: 25The baptismG908 of JohnG2491, whence wasG1510 it? of heavenG3772 or of menG444? And they reasonedG1260 among themselves, sayingG3004, If we should sayG3004, Of heavenG3772, he will sayG3004 to us, WhyG5101 thenG3767 have ye not believedG4100 him? 26but if we should sayG3004, Of menG444, we fearG5399 the crowdG3793, for all holdG2192 JohnG2491 for a prophetG4396. 27And answeringG611 JesusG2424 they saidG3004, We do not know. He alsoG2532 saidG3004 to them, Neither do I tellG3004 you by what authorityG1849 I do these thingsG3778. 28But what thinkG1380 ye? A manG444 had twoG1417 childrenG5043, and comingG4334 to the firstG4413 he saidG3004, ChildG5043, goG5217 to-day, workG2038 in [my] vineyardG290. 29And he answeringG611 saidG3004, I willG2309 not; but afterwards repenting himself he wentG565. 30And comingG4334 to the secondG1208 he saidG3004 likewiseG5615; and he answeringG611 saidG3004, I [goG565], sirG2962, and wentG565 not. 31Which of the twoG1417 did the will of the fatherG3962? They sayG3004 [to him], The firstG4413. JesusG2424 saysG3004 to them, Verily I sayG3004 unto you that the tax-gatherers and the harlots goG4254 into the kingdomG932 of 1GodG2316 before you. 32For JohnG2491 cameG2064 to you in the wayG3598 of righteousnessG1343, and ye believedG4100 him not; but the tax-gatherers and the harlots believedG4100 him; but ye when ye sawG3708 [it] repented not yourselves afterwards to believeG4100 him. 33HearG191 another parableG3850: There wasG1510 a householder who plantedG5452 a vineyardG290, and made a fence round it, and dugG3736 a winepressG3025 in it, and builtG3618 a towerG4444, and let it out to husbandmen, and left the country. 34But whenG3753 the timeG2540 of fruitG2590 drew near, he sentG649 his bondmen to the husbandmen to receiveG2983 his fruitsG2590. 35And the husbandmen tookG2983 his bondmen, and beatG1194 oneG3739, killedG615 another, and stoned another. 36AgainG3825 he sentG649 otherG243 bondmen moreG4183 than the firstG4413, and they did to them in like manner. 37And at last he sentG649 to them his sonG5207, sayingG3004, They will have respectG1788 for my sonG5207. 38But the husbandmen, seeingG3708 the sonG5207, saidG3004 among themselves, This isG1510 the heirG2818; comeG1205, let us killG615 him and possess his inheritanceG2817. 39And they tookG2983 him, and castG1544 him forth out of the vineyardG290, and killedG615 him. 40WhenG3752 thereforeG3767 the lordG2962 of the vineyardG290 comesG2064, what shall he do to those husbandmen? 41They sayG3004 to him, He will miserably destroyG622 those evilG2556 [men], and let out the vineyardG290 to otherG243 husbandmen, who shall renderG591 him the fruitsG2590 in their seasonsG2540. 42JesusG2424 saysG3004 to them, Have ye neverG3763 readG314 in the scripturesG1124, The stoneG3037 which they that builded rejectedG593, this has becomeG1096 the corner-stone: this isG1510 of [the] LordG2962, and it isG1510 wonderful in our eyesG3788? 43Therefore I sayG3004 to you, that the kingdomG932 of 2GodG2316 shall be takenG142 from you and shall be givenG1325 to a nationG1484 producingG4160 the fruitsG2590 of it. 44And he that falls on this stoneG3037 shall be broken, but on whomsoever it shall fall, it shall grind him to powder. 45And the chiefG749 priestsG749 and the PhariseesG5330, having heardG191 his parablesG3850, knewG1097 that he spokeG3004 about them. 46And seekingG2212 to lay holdG2902 of him, they were afraidG5399 of the crowdsG3793, because they heldG2192 him for a prophetG4396.
