Mark 9
1And he saidG3004 unto them, Verily I sayG3004 unto you, There areG1510 some hereG5602 of them that standG2476 by, who shall in no wise tasteG1089 of deathG2288, till they seeG3708 the kingdomG932 of GodG2316 comeG2064 with powerG1411.
2And after sixG1803 daysG2250 JesusG2424 taketh with him PeterG4074, and JamesG2385, and JohnG2491, and bringeth them up into a highG5308 mountainG3735 apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them; 3and his garmentsG2440 becameG1096 glistering, exceeding whiteG3022, so as no fuller on earthG1093 can whiten them. 4And there appeared unto them ElijahG2243 with MosesG3475: and they wereG1510 talkingG4814 with JesusG2424. 5And PeterG4074 answereth and saith to JesusG2424, RabbiG4461, it isG1510 goodG2570 for us to beG1510 hereG5602: and let us makeG4160 threeG5140 tabernaclesG4633; oneG1520 for thee, and oneG1520 for MosesG3475, and oneG1520 for ElijahG2243. 6For he knew not what to answerG611; for they becameG1096 sore afraid. 7And there cameG1096 a cloudG3507 overshadowingG1982 them: and there cameG1096 a voiceG5456 out of the cloudG3507, This isG1510 my belovedG27 SonG5207: hearG191 ye him. 8And suddenly lookingG4017 round about, they sawG3708 no oneG3762 any more, save JesusG2424 onlyG3441 with themselves.
9And as they were comingG2597 downG2597 from the mountainG3735, he charged them that they should tell no manG444 what thingsG3739 they had seenG3708, save whenG3752 the SonG5207 of manG444 should have risenG450 againG450 from the deadG3498. 10And they kept the sayingG3056, questioning among themselves what the risingG450 againG450 from the deadG3498 should mean. 11And they askedG1905 him, sayingG3004, How is it that the scribesG1122 sayG3004 that ElijahG2243 must firstG4413 comeG2064? 12And he saidG5346 unto them, ElijahG2243 indeed cometh firstG4413, and restoreth all thingsG3956: and howG4459 is it writtenG1125 of the SonG5207 of manG444, that he should sufferG3958 manyG4183 thingsG3956 and be set at nought? 13But I sayG3004 unto you, that ElijahG2243 is comeG2064, and they have alsoG2532 done unto him whatsoever they would, evenG2532 as it is writtenG1125 of him.
14And when they cameG2064 to the disciplesG3101, they sawG3708 a greatG4183 multitudeG3793 about them, and scribesG1122 questioning with them. 15And straightway all the multitudeG3793, when they sawG3708 him, were greatly amazed, and runningG4370 to him saluted him. 16And he askedG1905 them, What questionG1905 ye with them? 17And oneG1520 of the multitudeG3793 answeredG611 him, TeacherG1320, I broughtG5342 unto thee my sonG5207, who hath a dumb spiritG4151; 18and wheresoever it taketh him, it dasheth him downG4486: and he foameth, and grindeth his teethG3599, and pineth awayG3583: and I spake to thy disciplesG3101 that they should castG1544 it out; and they were not ableG2480. 19And he answereth them and saith, O faithless generationG1074, how long shall I beG1510 with you? how long shall I bearG5342 with you? bringG5342 him unto me. 20And they broughtG5342 him unto him: and when he sawG3708 him, straightway the spiritG4151 tare him grievously; and he fellG4098 on the groundG1093, and wallowed foaming. 21And he askedG1905 his fatherG3962, HowG5613 long timeG5550 isG1510 it since this hath comeG1096 unto him? And he saidG3004, From a child. 22And oft-times it hath castG906 him both into the fireG4442 and into the watersG5204, to destroyG622 him: but if thou canst do anythingG5100, have compassionG4697 on us, and helpG997 us. 23And JesusG2424 saidG3004 unto him, If thou canst! All thingsG3956 are possibleG1415 to him that believeth. 24Straightway the fatherG3962 of the childG3813 criedG2896 out, and saidG3004, I believeG4100; helpG997 thou mineG1473 unbeliefG570. 25And when JesusG2424 sawG3708 that a multitudeG3793 cameG1831 running together, he rebukedG2008 the uncleanG169 spiritG4151, sayingG3004 unto him, Thou dumb and deafG2974 spiritG4151, I command thee, comeG1831 out of him, and enterG1525 no moreG3371 into him. 26And having criedG2896 out, and torn him muchG4183, he cameG1096 out: and the boy becameG1096 as oneG3588 deadG3498; insomuch that the moreG4183 part saidG3004, He is deadG3498. 27But JesusG2424 tookG2902 him by the handG5495, and raisedG1453 him up; and he aroseG450. 28And when he was comeG1525 into the houseG3624, his disciplesG3101 askedG1905 him privately, How is it that we could not castG1544 it out? 29And he saidG3004 unto them, This kindG1085 can comeG1831 out by nothing, save by prayerG4335.
30And they wentG1831 forthG1831 from thence, and passed through GalileeG1056; and he would not that any man should knowG1097 it. 31For he taughtG1321 his disciplesG3101, and saidG3004 unto them, The SonG5207 of manG444 is deliveredG3860 up into the handsG5495 of menG444, and they shall killG615 him; and when he is killedG615, after threeG5140 daysG2250 he shall riseG450 againG450. 32But they understood not the saying, and were afraidG5399 to askG1905 him.
33And they cameG2064 to CapernaumG2584: and when he was in the houseG3614 he askedG1905 them, What were ye reasoningG1260 on the wayG3598? 34But they held their peace: for they had disputed oneG240 with another on the wayG3598, who was the greatestG3173. 35And he satG2523 downG2523, and called the twelveG1427; and he saith unto them, If any man would beG1510 firstG4413, he shall beG1510 lastG2078 of all, and servantG1249 of all. 36And he tookG2983 a little childG3813, and setG2476 him in the midstG3319 of them: and takingG2983 him in his arms, he saidG3004 unto them, 37Whosoever shall receiveG1209 oneG1520 of suchG5108 little childrenG3813 in my nameG3686, receiveth me: and whosoever receiveth me, receiveth not me, but him that sentG649 me.
38JohnG2491 saidG5346 unto him, TeacherG1320, we sawG3708 oneG5100 casting out demonsG1140 in thy nameG3686; and we forbade him, because he followedG190 not us. 39But JesusG2424 saidG3004, ForbidG2967 him not: for there isG1510 no man who shall do a mightyG1411 work in my nameG3686, and beG1510 ableG1410 quicklyG5035 to speakG3004 evilG2551 of me. 40For he that isG1510 not against us isG1510 for us. 41For whosoever shall giveG4222 you a cupG4221 of waterG5204 to drinkG4222, because ye areG1510 Christ’s, verily I sayG3004 unto you, he shall in no wise loseG622 his rewardG3408. 42And whosoever shall causeG4624 oneG1520 of these littleG3398 onesG3398 that believeG4100 on me to stumbleG4624, it wereG1510 betterG2570 for him if a great millstoneG3458 wereG1510 hanged about his neckG5137, and he wereG1510 castG906 into the seaG2281. 43And if thy handG5495 causeG4624 thee to stumbleG4624, cutG609 it off: it isG1510 goodG2570 for thee to enterG1525 into lifeG2222 maimed, rather than having thy twoG1417 handsG5495 to goG565 into hellG1067, into the unquenchableG762 fireG4442. 441 45And if thy footG4228 causeG4624 thee to stumbleG4624, cutG609 it off: it isG1510 goodG2570 for thee to enterG1525 into lifeG2222 halt, rather than having thy twoG1417 feetG4228 to beG1510 castG906 into hellG1067. 462 47And if thine eyeG3788 causeG4624 thee to stumbleG4624, castG906 it out: it isG1510 goodG2570 for thee to enterG1525 into the kingdomG932 of GodG2316 with oneG3588 eyeG3788, rather than having twoG1417 eyesG3788 to beG1510 castG906 into hellG1067; 48whereG3699 their worm dieth not, and the fireG4442 is not quenchedG4570. 49For every one shall be saltedG233 with fireG4442. 50SaltG217 is goodG2570: but if the saltG217 have lost its saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have saltG217 in yourselves, and be at peaceG1514 oneG240 with another.
