Jeremiah 25
1The wordH1697 that came to JeremiahH3414 concerning all the peopleH5971 of JudahH3063, in the fourthH7243 yearH8141 of JehoiakimH3079 the sonH1121 of JosiahH2977, the kingH4428 of JudahH3063 (that is, the first yearH8141 of Nebuchadrezzar kingH4428 of BabylonH894), 2which JeremiahH3414 the prophetH5030 spokeH1696 unto all the peopleH5971 of JudahH3063 and to all the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389, sayingH559: 3From the thirteenth yearH8141 of JosiahH2977 the sonH1121 of AmonH526, the kingH4428 of JudahH3063, even unto this dayH3117, these threeH7969 and twentyH6242 yearsH8141, the wordH1697 of Jehovah hath come unto me, and I have spokenH1696 unto you, risingH7925 earlyH7925 and speakingH1696; but ye have not hearkened. 4And Jehovah hath sentH7971 unto you all his servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030, risingH7925 earlyH7925 and sendingH7971; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclinedH5186 your earH241 to hearH8085, 5whenH834 they saidH559, TurnH7725 again now every oneH376 from his evilH7451 wayH1870, and from the wickednessH7455 of your doings, and dwellH3427 in the landH127 that Jehovah hath givenH5414 unto you and to your fathersH1 from of old even for everH5769. 6And go not after otherH312 1godsH430, to serveH5647 them and to worship them; and provokeH3707 me not to angerH3707 with the workH4639 of your handsH3027; and I will do you no hurt. 7But ye have not hearkened unto me, saith Jehovah; that ye might provokeH3707 me to angerH3707 with the workH4639 of your handsH3027, to your own hurt. 8ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635: Because ye have not listenedH8085 to my wordsH1697, 9behold, I will sendH7971 and takeH3947 all the familiesH4940 of the northH6828, saith Jehovah, and [I will sendH7971] to Nebuchadrezzar the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, my servantH5650, and will bringH935 them against this landH776, and against the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, and against all these nationsH1471 roundH5439 about; and I will utterly destroyH2763 them, and makeH7760 them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual wastesH2723. 10And I will cause to perishH6 from them the voiceH6963 of mirth and the voiceH6963 of joyH8057, the voiceH6963 of the bridegroom and the voiceH6963 of the brideH3618, the soundH6963 of the millstones and the lightH216 of the lampH5216. 11And this whole landH776 shall becomeH1961 a wasteH2723, an astonishment; and these nationsH1471 shall serveH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 seventyH7657 yearsH8141. 12And it shall come to pass, when seventyH7657 yearsH8141 are accomplished, [that] I will visitH6485 on the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 and on that nationH1471, saith Jehovah, their iniquityH5771, and on the landH776 of the ChaldeansH3778, and I will makeH7760 it perpetual desolations. 13And I will bringH935 upon that landH776 all my wordsH1697 which I have pronounced against it, all that is writtenH3789 in this bookH5612, which JeremiahH3414 hath prophesiedH5012 against all the nationsH1471. 14For manyH7227 nationsH1471 and greatH1419 kingsH4428 shall serveH5647 themselves of them alsoH1571; and I will recompense them according to their deedsH4639, and according to the workH4639 of their handsH3027. 15For thusH3541 hath Jehovah the 2GodH430 of IsraelH3478 saidH559 unto me: TakeH3947 the cupH3563 of the wineH3196 of this fury at my handH3027, and cause all the nationsH1471 to whom I sendH7971 thee to drinkH8248 it. 16And they shall drinkH8354, and reel to and fro, and be mad, because of the swordH2719 that I will sendH7971 among them. 17And I tookH3947 the cupH3563 at Jehovah's handH3027, and made all the nationsH1471 to drinkH8248, to whom Jehovah had sentH7971 me: 18JerusalemH3389, and the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, and the kingsH4428 thereof, and the princesH8269 thereof, to makeH5414 them a wasteH2723, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curseH7045, as it is this dayH3117; 19PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, and his servantsH5650, and his princesH8269, and all his peopleH5971; 20and all the mingled people, and all the kingsH4428 of the landH776 of UzH5780, and all the kingsH4428 of the landH776 of the PhilistinesH6430, and AshkelonH831, and Gazah, and EkronH6138, and the remnantH7611 of AshdodH795; 21EdomH123, and MoabH4124, and the children of AmmonH5983; 22and all the kingsH4428 of TyreH6865, and all the kingsH4428 of Zidon, and the kingsH4428 of the isles that are beyond the seaH3220; 23DedanH1719, and TemaH8485, and BuzH938, and all that have the cornersH6285 [of their beard] cutH7112 off; 24and all the kingsH4428 of ArabiaH6152, and all the kingsH4428 of the mingled people that dwellH7931 in the desert; 25and all the kingsH4428 of ZimriH2174, and all the kingsH4428 of ElamH5867, and all the kingsH4428 of the Medes; 26and all the kingsH4428 of the northH6828, farH7350 and near, oneH376 with another; and all the kingdomsH4467 of the world, which are upon the faceH6440 of the earthH776; and the kingH4428 of SheshachH8347 shall drinkH8354 after them. 27And thou shalt sayH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the 3GodH430 of IsraelH3478: DrinkH8354, and be drunken, and vomit, and fallH5307, and riseH6965 no more, because of the swordH2719 that I will sendH7971 among you. 28And it shall beH1961, if they refuseH3985 to takeH3947 the cupH3563 from thy handH3027 to drinkH8354, then shalt thou sayH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635: Ye shall certainly drinkH8354. 29For behold, I beginH2490 to bring evilH7489 on the cityH5892 that is calledH7121 by my nameH8034, and should ye be altogether unpunishedH5352? Ye shall not be unpunishedH5352; for I callH7121 for a swordH2719 upon all the inhabitantsH3427 of the earthH776, saith Jehovah of hostsH6635. 30And thou, prophesyH5012 unto them all these wordsH1697, and sayH559 unto them, Jehovah will roarH7580 from on highH4791, and utter his voiceH6963 from his holyH6944 habitationH4583; he will mightily roarH7580 upon his dwelling-place, he will giveH5414 a shout, as they that treadH1869 [the vintage], against all the inhabitantsH3427 of the earthH776. 31The noise shall comeH935 to the endH7097 of the earthH776: for Jehovah hath a controversy with the nationsH1471, he entereth into judgmentH8199 with all fleshH1320; as for the wickedH7563, he will giveH5414 them up to the swordH2719, saith Jehovah. 32ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635: Behold, evilH7451 shall goH3318 forthH3318 from nationH1471 to nationH1471, and a greatH1419 stormH5591 shall be raised up from the uttermost partsH3411 of the earthH776. 33And the slainH2491 of Jehovah shall [beH1961] at that dayH3117 from [one] endH7097 of the earthH776 even unto the [other] endH7097 of the earthH776: they shall not beH1961 lamentedH5594, neither gatheredH622, nor buriedH6912; they shall beH1961 dungH1828 upon the faceH6440 of the groundH776. 34Howl, ye shepherdsH7462, and cryH2199; and wallow yourselves [in the dust], noble onesH117 of the flockH6629: for the daysH3117 of your slaughterH2873 are accomplished, and I will disperse you; and ye shall fallH5307 like a preciousH2532 vesselH3627. 35And refuge shall perishH6 from the shepherdsH7462, and escapeH6413 from the noble onesH117 of the flockH6629. 36There shall be a voiceH6963 of the cryH6818 of the shepherdsH7462, and a howling of the noble onesH117 of the flockH6629: for Jehovah layeth waste their pastureH4830; 37and the peaceable enclosures shall be desolated, because of the fierce angerH639 of Jehovah. 38He hath forsaken his covert as a youngH3715 lionH3715; for their landH776 is a desolationH8047 because of the fierceness of the oppressorH3238, and because of his fierce angerH639.
