Jeremiah 32

1The wordH1697 that came to JeremiahH3414 from Jehovah in the tenthH6224 yearH8141 of ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063: that yearH8141 wasH1961 the eighteenth yearH8141 of Nebuchadrezzar. 2And the kingH4428 of Babylon's armyH2428 wasH1961 thenH227 besieging JerusalemH3389; and the prophetH5030 JeremiahH3414 wasH1961 shutH3607 up in the courtH2691 of the guardH4307, which wasH1961 in the kingH4428 of Judah's houseH1004. 3For ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 had shutH3607 him up, sayingH559, WhyH4069 dost thou prophesyH5012 and sayH559, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: Behold, I giveH5414 this cityH5892 into the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and he shall takeH3920 it; 4and ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 shall not escapeH4422 out of the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778; for he shall certainly be givenH5414 into the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and shall speakH1696 with him mouthH6310 to mouthH6310, and his eyesH5869 shall behold his eyesH5869; 5and he shall lead ZedekiahH6667 to BabylonH894, and there shall he beH1961 until I visitH6485 him, saith Jehovah: though ye fightH3898 with the ChaldeansH3778, ye shall not prosperH6743? 6And JeremiahH3414 saidH559, The wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 7Behold, Hanameel, the sonH1121 of ShallumH7967 thine uncleH1730, shall comeH935 unto thee, sayingH559, BuyH7069 for thyself my fieldH7704 which is in AnathothH6068; for thine is the rightH4941 of redemptionH1353, to buyH7069 [it]. 8And Hanameel, mine uncle's sonH1121, cameH935 to me in the courtH2691 of the guardH4307 according to the wordH1697 of Jehovah, and saidH559 unto me, BuyH7069 my fieldH7704, I pray thee, that is in AnathothH6068, which is in the landH776 of BenjaminH1144; for the rightH4941 of inheritance is thine, and the redemptionH1353 is thine: buyH7069 [it] for thyself. Then I knewH3045 that this was the wordH1697 of Jehovah. 9And I boughtH7069 of Hanameel, mine uncle's sonH1121, the fieldH7704 which is in AnathothH6068, and weighedH8254 him the moneyH3701, seventeen shekelsH8255 of silverH3701. 10And I subscribed the writingH3789, and sealedH2856 it, and took witnessesH5707, and weighedH8254 the moneyH3701 in the balances. 11And I tookH3947 the writing of the purchaseH4736, that which was sealedH2856 [according to] the law and the statutesH2706, and that which was open; 12and I gaveH5414 the writingH3789 of the purchaseH4736 unto BaruchH1263 the sonH1121 of Nerijah, the sonH1121 of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's [sonH1121], and in the presence of the witnessesH5707 that had subscribed the writingH3789 of purchaseH4736, before all the JewsH3064 that were sittingH3427 in the courtH2691 of the guardH4307. 13And I charged BaruchH1263 in their presence, sayingH559, 14ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the 1GodH430 of IsraelH3478: TakeH3947 these writings, this writing of the purchaseH4736, both that which is sealedH2856 and this writing which is open; and putH5414 them in an earthen vesselH3627, that they may remainH5975 manyH7227 daysH3117. 15For thusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the 2GodH430 of IsraelH3478: HousesH1004 and fieldsH7704 and vineyardsH3754 shall againH5750 be purchased in this landH776. 16And after I had givenH5414 the writing of the purchaseH4736 unto BaruchH1263 the sonH1121 of Nerijah, I prayedH6419 unto Jehovah sayingH559, 17AlasH162, LordH136 Jehovah! Behold, thou hast madeH6213 the heavensH8064 and the earthH776 by thy greatH1419 power and stretched-outH5186 armH2220; there is nothing too hard for thee: 18who shewest mercy unto thousandsH505, and recompensest the iniquityH5771 of the fathersH1 into the bosomH2436 of their children after them, thou, the greatH1419, the mightyH1368 3GodH410, — Jehovah of hostsH6635 is his nameH8034; 19greatH1419 in counselH6098 and mighty in work, whose eyesH5869 are openH6491 upon all the waysH1870 of the children of menH376, to giveH5414 every oneH376 according to his waysH1870, and according to the fruitH6529 of his doings: 20who hast displayed signsH226 and wondersH4159 unto this dayH3117, in the landH776 of EgyptH4714 and in IsraelH3478 and among [other] menH120; and hast madeH6213 thee a nameH8034, as at this dayH3117. 21And thou broughtest forthH3318 thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 by signsH226, and by wondersH4159, and by a powerful handH3027, and by a stretched-outH5186 armH248, and by greatH1419 terrorH4172; 22and didst giveH5414 them this landH776, which thou hadst swornH7650 unto their fathersH1 to giveH5414 them, a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706. 23And they cameH935 in and possessedH3423 it: but they hearkened not unto thy voiceH6963, neither walkedH1980 in thy lawH8451; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do; so that thou hast caused all this evilH7451 to comeH935 upon them. 24Behold the mounds, they are comeH935 unto the cityH5892 for taking it; and the cityH5892 is givenH5414 over into the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778, that fightH3898 against it, by the swordH2719, and the famineH7458, and the pestilenceH1698: and what thou hast spokenH1696 is comeH935 to pass; and behold, thou seest [it]. 25And thou, LordH136 Jehovah, thou hast saidH559 unto me, BuyH7069 for thyself the fieldH7704 for moneyH3701, and take witnessesH5707; — and the cityH5892 is givenH5414 into the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778. 26And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto JeremiahH3414, sayingH559, 27Behold, I am Jehovah, the 4GodH430 of all fleshH1320: is there anything too hardH6381 for me? 28ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith Jehovah: Behold, I giveH5414 this cityH5892 into the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778, and into the handH3027 of Nebuchadrezzar the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and he shall takeH3920 it. 29And the ChaldeansH3778, that fightH3898 against this cityH5892, shall comeH935 in and setH3341 fireH784 to this cityH5892, and shall burnH8313 it, and the housesH1004 upon whose roofsH1406 they have offered incenseH6999 unto BaalH1168, and poured out drink-offerings unto otherH312 5godsH430, to provokeH3707 me to angerH3707. 30For the children of IsraelH3478 and the children of JudahH3063 have beenH1961 doing onlyH389 evilH7451 in my sight from their youthH5271; for the children of IsraelH3478 have onlyH389 provokedH3707 me to angerH3707 with the workH4639 of their handsH3027, saith Jehovah. 31For this cityH5892 hath beenH1961 to me [a provocation] of mine angerH639 and of my fury from the dayH3117 that they builtH1129 it even unto this dayH3117; that I should removeH5493 it from before my faceH6440, 32because of all the evilH7451 of the children of IsraelH3478 and of the children of JudahH3063, which they have done to provokeH3707 me to angerH3707, they, their kingsH4428, their princesH8269, their priestsH3548, and their prophetsH5030, and the menH376 of JudahH3063, and the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389. 33And they have turnedH6437 unto me the backH6437, and not the faceH6440; and though I taughtH3925 them, risingH7925 earlyH7925 and teachingH3925, they hearkened not to receiveH3947 instruction. 34And they have setH7760 their abominationsH8251 in the houseH1004 which is calledH7121 by my nameH8034, to defileH2930 it; 35and they have builtH1129 the highH1116 placesH1116 of BaalH1168, which are in the valleyH1516 of the sonH1121 of HinnomH2011, to cause to passH5674 through [the fire] their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323 unto MolechH4432: which I commandedH6680 them not, neither cameH5927 it into my mind, that they should do this abominationH8441, to cause JudahH3063 to sinH2398. 36And nowH6258 thereforeH3651 Jehovah, the 6GodH430 of IsraelH3478, saith thusH3541 concerningH413 this cityH5892, whereof ye sayH559, It hath been givenH5414 over into the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 by the swordH2719, and by the famineH7458, and by the pestilenceH1698: 37Behold, I will gatherH6908 them out of all the countries whither I have drivenH5080 them, in mine angerH639, and in my fury, and in greatH1419 wrathH2534; and I will bringH7725 them again unto this placeH4725, and I will cause them to dwellH3427 safely. 38And they shall beH1961 my peopleH5971, and I will beH1961 their 7GodH430. 39And I will giveH5414 them oneH259 heartH3820, and oneH259 wayH1870, that they may fearH3372 me all [their] daysH3117, for the goodH2896 of them, and of their children after them. 40And I will makeH5414 an everlasting covenantH1285 with them, that I will not draw backH7725 from them, to do them goodH3190; and I will putH5414 my fearH3374 in their heartH3824, that they may not turnH7725 asideH5493 from me. 41And I will rejoiceH7797 over them to do them goodH2895, and I will assuredly plantH5193 them in this landH776 with my whole heartH3820 and with my whole soulH5315. 42For thusH3541 saith Jehovah: Like as I have broughtH935 all this greatH1419 evilH7451 upon this peopleH5971, soH3651 will I bringH935 upon them all the goodH2896 that I have spokenH1696 concerning them. 43And fieldsH7704 shall be boughtH7069 in this landH776, whereof ye sayH559, It is desolate without manH120 or beast; it is givenH5414 into the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778. 44[Men] shall buyH7069 fieldsH7704 for moneyH3701, and subscribe the writings, and sealH2856 them, and take witnessesH5707, in the landH776 of BenjaminH1144, and in the environs of JerusalemH3389, and in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, and in the citiesH5892 of the hill-country, and in the citiesH5892 of the lowland, and in the citiesH5892 of the southH5045: for I will turnH7725 their captivityH7622, saith Jehovah.
