Jeremiah 31
1At that timeH6256, saith Jehovah, will I beH1961 the 1GodH430 of all the familiesH4940 of IsraelH3478, and they shall beH1961 my peopleH5971. 2ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: The peopleH5971 [that were] left of the swordH2719 have foundH4672 graceH2580 in the wildernessH4057, [even] IsraelH3478, when I goH1980 to give him restH7280. 3Jehovah hath appearedH7200 from afarH7350 unto me, [saying,] Yea, I have lovedH157 thee with an everlasting loveH157; thereforeH3651 with loving-kindness have I drawnH4900 thee. 4I will buildH1129 thee againH5750, and thou shalt be builtH1129, O virginH1330 of IsraelH3478! Thou shalt againH5750 be adorned with thy tambours, and shalt goH3318 forthH3318 in the dances of them that make merry. 5Thou shalt againH5750 plantH5193 vineyardsH3754 upon the mountainsH2022 of SamariaH8111; the planters shall plantH5193, and shall eat the fruit. 6For there shall be a dayH3117, when the watchmenH5341 upon mount EphraimH669 shall cry, AriseH6965, and let us goH5927 up to ZionH6726, unto Jehovah our 2GodH430. 7For thusH3541 saith Jehovah: SingH7442 aloudH7442 [with] gladnessH8057 for JacobH3290, and shoutH7442 at the headH7218 of the nationsH1471; publish ye, praiseH1984 ye, and sayH559, Jehovah, saveH3467 thy peopleH5971, the remnantH7611 of IsraelH3478. 8Behold, I bringH935 them from the northH6828 country, and gatherH6908 them from the uttermost partsH3411 of the earthH776; [and] among them the blindH5787 and the lameH6455, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child togetherH3162: a greatH1419 assemblage shall they returnH7725 hither. 9They shall comeH935 with weepingH1065, and with supplicationsH8469 will I lead them; I will cause them to walk by water-brooks, in a straightH3477 wayH1870, wherein they shall not stumbleH3782; for I will beH1961 a fatherH1 to IsraelH3478, and EphraimH669 is my firstbornH1060. 10HearH8085 the wordH1697 of Jehovah, ye nationsH1471, and declareH5046 [it] to the isles afar off, and sayH559, He that scatteredH2219 IsraelH3478 will gatherH6908 him, and keepH8104 him, as a shepherdH7462 his flockH5739. 11For Jehovah hath ransomedH6299 JacobH3290, and redeemedH1350 him from the handH3027 of oneH4480 strongerH2389 than he. 12And they shall comeH935 and singH7442 aloudH7442 upon the heightH4791 of ZionH6726, and shall flow together to the goodnessH2898 of Jehovah, for corn, and for newH8492 wineH8492, and for oilH3323, and for the youngH1121 of the flockH6629 and of the herdH1241; and their soulH5315 shall beH1961 as a wateredH7302 gardenH1588, and they shall not languish any more at all. 13ThenH227 shall the virginH1330 rejoiceH8055 in the dance, and the youngH970 menH970 and oldH2205 togetherH3162; for I will turnH2015 their mourningH60 into gladness, and will comfortH5162 them, and makeH8055 them rejoiceH8055 after their sorrowH3015. 14And I will satiate the soulH5315 of the priestsH3548 with fatnessH1880, and my peopleH5971 shall be satisfiedH7646 with my goodnessH2898, saith Jehovah. 15ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: A voiceH6963 hath been heardH8085 in RamahH7414, the wail of very bitter weepingH1065, — RachelH7354 weepingH1065 for her children, refusingH3985 to be comfortedH5162 for her children, because they are not. 16ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: Refrain thy voiceH6963 from weepingH1065, and thine eyesH5869 from tearsH1832; for there is a rewardH7939 for thy workH6468, saith Jehovah; and they shall come again from the landH776 of the enemyH341. 17And there is hopeH8615 for thy latterH319 endH319, saith Jehovah, and thy children shall come again to their own borderH1366. 18I have indeed heardH8085 EphraimH669 bemoaning himself [thus]: Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised as a bullock not trainedH3925: turnH7725 thou me, and I shall be turnedH7725; for thou art Jehovah my 3GodH430. 19Surely after that I was turnedH7725, I repentedH5162; and after I knewH3045 myself, I smote upon [my] thighH3409. I was ashamedH954, yea, even confounded, for I bearH5375 the reproachH2781 of my youthH5271. 20Is EphraimH669 a dear sonH1121 unto me? is he a childH3206 of delights? For whilst I have been speakingH1696 against him, I do constantly rememberH2142 him stillH5750. ThereforeH3651 my bowelsH4578 are troubled for him: I will certainly have mercyH7355 upon him, saith Jehovah. 21SetH7760 up waymarks, makeH7760 for thyself signposts; setH7760 thy heartH3820 toward the highwayH4546, the wayH1870 by which thou wentest: turnH7725 again, O virginH1330 of IsraelH3478, turnH7725 again to these thy citiesH5892. 22How long wilt thou wander about, thou backsliding daughterH1323? For Jehovah hath createdH1254 a newH2319 thing on the earthH776, a woman shall encompass a manH1397. 23ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the 4GodH430 of IsraelH3478: They shall againH5750 use this speech, in the landH776 of JudahH3063 and in the citiesH5892 thereof, when I shall turnH7725 their captivityH7622: Jehovah blessH1288 thee, O habitation of righteousnessH6664, mountainH2022 of holinessH6944! 24And therein shall dwellH3427 JudahH3063, and all the citiesH5892 thereof togetherH3162, the husbandmen, and they that go about with flocksH5739. 25For I have satiated the wearyH5889 soulH5315, and every languishing soulH5315 have I replenished. 26— Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleepH8142 was sweet unto me. 27Behold, daysH3117 comeH935, saith Jehovah, that I will sowH2232 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 and the houseH1004 of JudahH3063 [with] the seedH2233 of manH120 and the seedH2233 of beast. 28And it shall come to pass, as I have watchedH8245 over them, to pluckH5428 up, and to breakH2040 down, and to overthrow, and to destroyH6, and to afflict; soH3651 will I watchH8245 over them to buildH1129, and to plantH5193, saith Jehovah. 29In those daysH3117 they shall sayH559 no more, The fathersH1 have eatenH398 sourH1155 grapesH1155, and the children's teethH8127 are set on edge: 30for every oneH376 shall dieH4191 for his own iniquityH5771; every manH376 that eateth the sourH1155 grapesH1155, his teethH8127 shall be set on edge. 31Behold, daysH3117 comeH935, saith Jehovah, that I will makeH3772 a newH2319 covenantH1285 with the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 and with the houseH1004 of JudahH3063: 32not according to the covenantH1285 that I madeH3772 with their fathersH1, in the dayH3117 of my taking them by the handH3027, to lead them out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714; which my covenantH1285 they broke, although I was a husbandH1166 unto them, saith Jehovah. 33For this is the covenantH1285 that I will makeH5414 with the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, after those daysH3117, saith Jehovah: I will putH5414 my lawH8451 in their inward parts, and will writeH3789 it in their heartH3820; and I will beH1961 their 5GodH430, and they shall beH1961 my peopleH5971. 34And they shall teachH3925 no more every manH376 his neighbour, and every manH376 his brotherH251, sayingH559, KnowH3045 Jehovah; for they shall all knowH3045 me, from the least of them unto the greatestH1419 of them, saith Jehovah: for I will pardon their iniquityH5771, and their sinH2403 will I rememberH2142 no more. 35ThusH3541 saith Jehovah, who giveth the sunH8121 for lightH216 by dayH3119, the ordinances of the moonH3394 and of the starsH3556 for lightH216 by nightH3915, who stirreth up the seaH3220 so that the waves thereof roarH1993, — Jehovah of hostsH6635 is his nameH8034: 36If those ordinances departH4185 from before me, saith Jehovah, the seedH2233 of IsraelH3478 alsoH1571 shall ceaseH7673 from being a nationH1471 before me for ever. 37ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: If the heavensH8064 above can be measuredH4058, and the foundationsH4146 of the earthH776 searchedH2713 out beneath, I will alsoH1571 cast off the whole seedH2233 of IsraelH3478, for all that they have done, saith Jehovah. 38Behold, the daysH3117 come, saith Jehovah, that the cityH5892 shall be builtH1129 to Jehovah, from the towerH4026 of Hananeel unto the corner-gate. 39And the measuringH4060 line shall yetH5750 goH3318 forthH3318 before it unto the hillH1389 GarebH1619, and shall turnH5437 toward Goath. 40And the whole valleyH6010 of the dead bodies, and of the ashesH1880, and all the fields unto the torrent KidronH6939, unto the cornerH6438 of the horse-gate toward the eastH4217, shall be holyH6944 unto Jehovah: it shall not be pluckedH5428 up, nor overthrown any more for everH5769.
