Jeremiah 15
Darby Bible
1And Jehovah saidH559 unto me, Though MosesH4872 and SamuelH8050 stoodH5975 before me, my soulH5315 [would] not [turn] toward this peopleH5971. SendH7971 [them] out of my sight, and let them goH3318 forthH3318. 2And it shall come to pass, if they sayH559 unto thee, Whither shall we goH3318 forthH3318? then thou shalt tell them, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: Such as are for deathH4194, to deathH4194; and such as are for the swordH2719, to the swordH2719; and such as are for the famineH7458, to the famineH7458; and such as are for captivityH7628, to captivityH7628. 3For I will visitH6485 them with fourH702 kinds [of punishments], saith Jehovah: the swordH2719 to slayH2026, and dogsH3611 to tear, and the fowl of the heavensH8064, and the beasts of the earthH776, to devourH398 and to destroyH7843. 4And I will giveH5414 them over to be driven hither and thither amongst all the kingdomsH4467 of the earthH776, because of ManassehH4519 the sonH1121 of HezekiahH2396, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, for that which he did in JerusalemH3389. 5For who shall have pityH2550 upon thee, JerusalemH3389? and who shall bemoan thee? and who shall turnH5493 asideH5493 to askH7592 after thy welfareH7965? 6Thou hast cast me off, saith Jehovah, thou art gone backwardH268; and I have stretchedH5186 out my handH3027 against thee, and will destroyH7843 thee: I am becomeH3811 wearyH3811 of repenting. 7And I will fan them with a fan in the gatesH8179 of the landH776; I will bereaveH7921 of children [and] destroyH6 my peopleH5971: they have not returnedH7725 from their waysH1870. 8Their widowsH490 are increased to me more than the sandH2344 of the seasH3220; I have broughtH935 upon them, against the motherH517 of the youngH970 menH970, a spoiler at noonday; I have caused anguish and terrorH928 to fallH5307 upon her suddenlyH6597. 9She that hath borneH3205 sevenH7651 languisheth, she hath givenH5414 up the ghost; her sunH8121 is goneH935 down while it is yetH5750 dayH3119; she is putH5414 to shameH954 and confounded. And the residue of them will I giveH5414 up to the swordH2719 before their enemiesH341, saith Jehovah. 10WoeH188 is me, my motherH517, that thou hast borneH3205 me a manH376 of strifeH7379 and a manH376 of contentionH4066 to the whole landH776! I have not lentH5383 on usury, nor have they lentH5383 to me on usury; [yet] every oneH376 of them doth curseH7043 me. 11Jehovah saidH559, Verily I will set thee free for [thy] goodH2896; verily I will cause the enemyH341 to meetH6293 thee kindly in the timeH6256 of evilH7451 and in the timeH6256 of affliction. 12Will ironH1270 break? ironH1270 from the northH6828? and bronzeH5178? 13Thy substance and thy treasuresH214 will I giveH5414 to the spoilH957 without priceH4242, and that for all thy sinsH2403, and in all thy bordersH1366; 14and I will makeH3045 [them] to passH5674 with thine enemiesH341 into a landH776 that thou knowest not: for a fireH784 is kindled in mine angerH639; it shall burnH3344 upon you. 15Jehovah, thou knowest: rememberH2142 me, and visitH6485 me, and avengeH5358 me of my persecutors; in thy long-suffering takeH3947 me not awayH5375: knowH3045 that for thy sake I bearH5375 reproachH2781. 16Thy wordsH1697 wereH1961 foundH4672, and I did eatH398 them, and thy wordsH1697 wereH1961 unto me the joyH8057 and rejoicing of my heartH3824; for I amH1961 calledH7121 by thy nameH8034, O Jehovah, 1GodH430 of hostsH6635. 17I satH3427 not in the assembly of the mockers, nor exulted: I satH3427 aloneH910 because of thy handH3027; for thou hast filledH4390 me with indignationH2195. 18WhyH4100 is my painH3511 perpetual, and my woundH4347 incurableH605? It refuseth to beH1961 healedH7495. Wilt thou beH1961 altogether unto me as a treacherous [spring], [as] watersH4325 that fail? 19ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith Jehovah: If thou returnH7725, then will I bringH3318 thee again, thou shalt standH5975 before me; and if thou take forthH3318 the preciousH3368 from the vile, thou shalt beH1961 as my mouthH6310. Let them returnH7725 unto thee; but returnH7725 not thou unto them. 20And I will makeH5414 thee unto this peopleH5971 a strong brazen wallH2346; and they shall fightH3898 against thee, but they shall not prevailH3201 against thee: for I am with thee, to saveH3467 thee and to deliverH5337 thee, saith Jehovah; 21yea, I will deliverH5337 thee out of the handH3027 of the wickedH7451, and I will redeemH6299 thee out of the handH3027 of the terrible.
