Jeremiah 21

1The wordH1697 that came unto JeremiahH3414 from Jehovah, when kingH4428 ZedekiahH6667 sentH7971 unto him Pashur the sonH1121 of Malchijah, and ZephaniahH6846 the sonH1121 of MaaseiahH4641, the priestH3548, sayingH559, 2Inquire, I pray thee, of Jehovah for us; for Nebuchadrezzar the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 maketh war against us; if so be that Jehovah will deal with us according to all his marvellous works, that he may goH5927 up from us. 3And JeremiahH3414 saidH559 unto them, ThusH3541 shall ye sayH559 to ZedekiahH6667: 4ThusH3541 saith Jehovah the 1GodH430 of IsraelH3478: Behold, I will turnH5437 back the weaponsH3627 of warH4421 that are in your handsH3027, with which ye fightH3898 against the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and against the ChaldeansH3778 who besiege you, outside the wallsH2346, and I will assemble them into the midstH8432 of this cityH5892. 5And I myself will fightH3898 against you with a stretched-outH5186 handH3027, and with a strongH2389 armH2220, and in angerH639, and in fury, and in greatH1419 wrathH2534. 6And I will smite the inhabitantsH3427 of this cityH5892, both manH120 and beast: they shall dieH4191 of a greatH1419 pestilenceH1698. 7And afterwards, saith Jehovah, I will giveH5414 ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, and his servantsH5650, and the peopleH5971, and such as are leftH7604 in this cityH5892 from the pestilenceH1698, from the swordH2719, and from the famineH7458, into the handH3027 of Nebuchadrezzar the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and into the handH3027 of their enemiesH341, and into the handH3027 of those that seekH1245 their lifeH5315, and he shall smite them with the edge of the swordH2719: he shall not spareH2550 them, neither have pityH2347, nor have mercyH7355. 8And unto this peopleH5971 thou shalt sayH559, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: Behold, I setH5414 before you the wayH1870 of lifeH2416, and the wayH1870 of deathH4194. 9He that abideth in this cityH5892 shall dieH4191 by the swordH2719, and by the famineH7458, and by the pestilenceH1698; but he that goeth out, and deserteth to the ChaldeansH3778 that besiege you, he shall live, and his lifeH5315 shall beH1961 unto him for a prey. 10For I have setH7760 my faceH6440 against this cityH5892 for evilH7451, and not for goodH2896, saith Jehovah: it shall be givenH5414 into the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and he shall burnH8313 it with fireH784. 11And touching the houseH1004 of the kingH4428 of JudahH3063, hearH8085 ye the wordH1697 of Jehovah. 12HouseH1004 of DavidH1732, thusH3541 saith Jehovah: JudgeH1777 with justiceH4941 in the morningH1242, and deliverH5337 him that is spoiled out of the handH3027 of the oppressorH6231, lestH6435 my fury goH3318 forthH3318 like fireH784 and burnH1197, and there be none to quenchH3518 it, because of the evil of your doings. 13Behold, I am against thee, inhabitress of the valleyH6010, the rockH6697 of the plainH4334, saith Jehovah; ye that sayH559, Who shall comeH935 down against us, or who shall enter into our dwellings? 14And I will visitH6485 you according to the fruitH6529 of your doings, saith Jehovah; and I will kindleH3341 a fireH784 in her forestH3293, and it shall devourH398 all that is roundH5439 about her.
