Jeremiah 12

1RighteousH6662 art thou, Jehovah, when I plead with thee; yet will I speakH1696 with thee of [thy] judgmentsH4941. Wherefore doth the wayH1870 of the wickedH7563 prosper? [wherefore] are all they at easeH7951 that dealH898 very treacherouslyH898? 2Thou hast plantedH5193 them, they alsoH1571 have taken rootH8327: they advance, yea, they bring forth fruitH6529: thou art near in their mouthH6310, but farH7350 from their reins. 3But thou, Jehovah, knowest me; thou hast seenH7200 me, and proved my heartH3820 toward thee. Drag them out like sheepH6629 for the slaughterH2028, and setH6942 them apartH6942 for the dayH3117 of slaughterH2028. 4How long shall the landH776 mournH56, and the herbs of all the fieldsH7704 witherH3001? Because of the wickednessH7451 of them that dwellH3427 therein, the beasts and the birdsH5775 perish; for they sayH559, He will not seeH7200 our endH319. 5If thou hast runH7323 with footmen, and they have weariedH3811 thee, howH349 wilt thou then contend with horsesH5483? And if in a landH776 of peaceH7965 thou thinkest thyself in security, howH349 wilt thou then do in the swelling of the JordanH3383? 6For even thy brethren, and the houseH1004 of thy fatherH1, even they have dealtH898 treacherouslyH898 with thee, even they have cried aloud after thee. BelieveH539 them not, though they speakH1696 goodH2896 [words] unto thee. 7I have forsaken my houseH1004, I have cast off my heritage, I have givenH5414 the beloved of my soulH5315 into the handH3709 of her enemiesH341. 8My heritage is becomeH1961 unto me as a lionH738 in the forestH3293; it hath raised its voiceH6963 against me: thereforeH3651 have I hatedH8130 it. 9My heritage is unto me [as] a speckled birdH5861 of preyH5861; the birdsH5861 of preyH5861 roundH5439 about are against her. Go, assemble all the beasts of the fieldH7704, bringH857 them to devour. 10ManyH7227 shepherdsH7462 have destroyedH7843 my vineyardH3754, they have troddenH947 my portionH2513 under foot, they have madeH5414 my pleasant portionH2513 a desolate wildernessH4057: 11they have madeH7760 it a desolationH8077; desolateH8074, it mourneth unto me: the whole landH776 is madeH7760 desolateH8074, for no manH376 layeth it to heartH3820. 12Spoilers are comeH935 upon all heightsH8205 in the wildernessH4057; for the swordH2719 of Jehovah devoureth from one endH7097 of the landH776 even to the [other] endH7097 of the landH776: no fleshH1320 hath peaceH7965. 13They have sownH2232 wheatH2406, and they reapH7114 thornsH6975; they have putH954 themselves to pain, [and] do not profitH3276. Be ye therefore ashamedH954 of your revenues, because of the fierce angerH639 of Jehovah. 14ThusH3541 saith Jehovah against all mine evilH7451 neighbours, that touchH5060 the inheritanceH5159 which I have caused my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 to inheritH5157: Behold, I will pluckH5428 them up out of their landH127, and pluckH5428 out the houseH1004 of JudahH3063 from among them. 15And it shall come to pass, after I have pluckedH5428 them up, I will returnH7725, and have compassionH7355 on them, and will bringH7725 them backH7725, each oneH376 to his inheritanceH5159, and each oneH376 to his landH776. 16And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learnH3925 the waysH1870 of my peopleH5971, to swearH7650 by my nameH8034, [As] Jehovah liveth — even as they taughtH3925 my peopleH5971 to swearH7650 by BaalH1168 — they shall beH1961 builtH1129 up in the midstH8432 of my peopleH5971. 17And if they will not obey, I will utterly pluckH5428 up and destroyH6 that nationH1471, saith Jehovah.
