Mark 6:30-53
30MeanwhileG2532, theG3588 apostlesG652 gatheredG4863 aroundG4314 JesusG2424 andG2532 brought Him newsG518G846 of allG3956G3745 they had doneG4160 andG2532 taughtG1321. 31AndG2532 He saidG3004 to themG846, “ComeG1205 with MeG2596 privatelyG4771G846G2398 toG1519 a solitaryG2048 placeG5117, andG2532 let us restG373 for a whileG3641.” ForG1063 manyG4183 people wereG1510 comingG2064 andG2532 goingG5217, andG2532 they did not even have timeG3761G2119 to eatG5315.
32SoG2532 they went awayG565 inG1722 a boatG4143 byG2596 themselvesG2398 toG1519 a solitaryG2048 placeG5117. 33ButG2532 manyG4183 people sawG3708 themG846 leavingG5217 andG2532 recognizedG1921 them. They ran togetherG4936 on footG3979 fromG575 allG3956 theG3588 townsG4172 andG2532 arrived beforeG4281 themG846. 34WhenG2532 Jesus stepped ashoreG1831 and sawG3708 a largeG4183 crowdG3793, He had compassionG4697 onG1909 themG846, becauseG3754 they wereG1510 likeG5613 sheepG4263 withoutG3361G2192 a shepherdG4166. AndG2532 He beganG756 to teachG1321 themG846 many thingsG4183.
35By nowG2532 the hourG5610 wasG1096 alreadyG2235 lateG4183. So theG3588 disciplesG3101 cameG4334 toG846 Jesus and saidG2036, “ThisG3588 isG1510 a desolateG2048 placeG5117, andG2532 the hourG5610 is alreadyG2235 lateG4183. 36DismissG630 the crowd soG2443 they can goG565 toG1519 theG3588 surroundingG2945 countrysideG68 andG2532 villagesG2968 and buyG59 themselvesG1438 somethingG5101 to eatG5315.”
37ButG1161 Jesus toldG611G2036 themG846, “YouG4771 giveG1325 themG846 something to eatG5315.”
They askedG3004 HimG846, “Should we go outG565 and spendG59 two hundredG1250 denariiG12201 to giveG1325 all of themG846 breadG740 to eatG5315?”
38“GoG5217 and seeG3708 how manyG4214 loavesG740 you haveG2192,” He toldG3004 themG846.
AndG2532 after checkingG1097, they saidG3004, “FiveG4002—andG2532 twoG1417 fishG2486.”
39ThenG2532 Jesus directedG2004 themG846 to have the people sitG3956G347 in groupsG4849 onG1909 theG3588 greenG5515 grassG5528. 40SoG2532 they sat downG377 in groupsG4237 ofG2596 hundredsG1540 andG2532 fiftiesG4004.
TakingG2983 theG3588 fiveG4002 loavesG740 andG2532 theG3588 twoG1417 fishG2486 and looking upG308 toG1519 heavenG3772, Jesus spoke a blessingG2127 andG2532 brokeG2622 theG3588 loavesG740. ThenG2532 He gaveG1325 them toG3588 HisG846 disciplesG3101 toG2443 set beforeG3908 the people. AndG2532 He dividedG3307 theG3588 twoG1417 fishG2486 among them allG3956.
They allG3956 ateG5315 andG2532 were satisfiedG5526, 43andG2532 the disciples picked upG142 twelveG1427 basketfulsG2894G4138 of broken pieces of breadG2801 andG2532 fishG2486. 44AndG2532 there wereG1510 five thousandG4000 menG435 whoG3588 had eatenG5315 theG3588 loavesG740.
ImmediatelyG2112 Jesus madeG315 HisG846 disciplesG3101 getG1684 intoG1519 theG3588 boatG4143 andG2532 go on ahead ofG4254G1519G3588G4008 Him toG4314 BethsaidaG966, whileG2193 HeG846 dismissedG630 theG3588 crowdG3793. 46After bidding them farewellG657G846, He wentG565 up onG1519 theG3588 mountainG3735 to prayG4336.
47WhenG2532 eveningG3798 cameG1096, theG3588 boatG4143 wasG1510 inG1722 the middleG3319 of theG3588 seaG2281, andG2532 Jesus was aloneG3441 onG1909 landG1093. 48He could see thatG3708 the disciples were strainingG928 to rowG1722G3588G1643, becauseG1063 theG3588 windG417 wasG1510 againstG1727 themG846. AboutG4012 the fourthG5067 watchG5438 of theG3588 nightG3571,2 Jesus went outG2064 toG4314 themG846, walkingG4043 onG1909 theG3588 seaG2281. He intendedG2309 to pass byG3928 themG846, 49butG1161 when they sawG3708 HimG846 walkingG4043 onG1909 theG3588 seaG2281, they cried outG349, thinkingG1380 He wasG1510 a ghostG5326— 50forG1063 they allG3956 saw HimG3708 andG2532 were terrifiedG5015.
ButG1161 Jesus spoke upG2980 at onceG2112: “Take courageG2293! It isG1510 IG1473. Do notG3361 be afraidG5399.” 51ThenG2532 He climbedG305 intoG1519 theG3588 boatG4143 withG4314 themG846, andG2532 theG3588 windG417 died downG2869. AndG2532 the disciples were utterlyG3029G1537G4053 astoundedG1839, 52forG1063 they had not understoodG3756G4920 aboutG1909 theG3588 loavesG740, butG235 theirG846 heartsG2588 had beenG1510 hardenedG4456.
53WhenG2532 they had crossed overG1276, they landedG2064G1909G3588G1093 atG1519 GennesaretG1082 andG2532 mooredG4358 the boat.
