1On the firstH259 day of the secondH8145 monthH2320 of the secondH8145 yearH8141 after the Israelites had come outH3318 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, the LORDH3068 spokeH1696 toH413 MosesH4872 in the TentH168 of MeetingH4150 in the WildernessH4057 of SinaiH5514. The Exemption of the Levites
47The Levites, howeverH3881, were notH3808 numberedH6485 along with themH8432 by the tribeH4294 of their fathersH1. 48For the LORDH3068H413 had said toH1696 MosesH4872H559: 49“Do notH3808 numberH6485 the tribeH4294 of LeviH3878 in the censusH7218H3808H5375 withH8432 the other IsraelitesH1121H3478. 50InsteadH859, you are to appointH6485 the LevitesH3881 overH5921 the tabernacleH4908 of the TestimonyH5715H5921, allH3605 its furnishingsH3627H5921, and everythingH3605 in it. TheyH1992 shall carryH5375 the tabernacleH4908 and allH3605 its articlesH3627H1992, care for itH8334, and campH2583 aroundH5439 itH4908.
51Whenever the tabernacleH4908 is to moveH5265, the LevitesH3881 are to take it downH3381, and whenever itH4908 is to be pitchedH2583, the LevitesH3881 are to set it upH6965. Any outsiderH2114 who goes near itH7131 must be put to deathH4191.
52The IsraelitesH1121H3478 are to campH2583 by their divisionsH6635, each manH376 inH5921 his own campH4264H376 and underH5921 his own standardH1714. 53But the LevitesH3881 are to campH2583 aroundH5439 the tabernacleH4908 of the TestimonyH5715 and watch over itH8104, so that noH3808 wrathH7110 will fallH1961 onH5921 the congregationH5712 of IsraelH1121H3478. So the LevitesH3881 are responsibleH4931 for the tabernacleH4908 of the TestimonyH5715.”
54Thus the IsraelitesH1121H3478 didH6213 everythingH3605 just asH834 the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872H3651H6213.
