Mark 1:2-45
21justG2531 as it is writtenG1125 in IsaiahG2268 the prophetG4396: “2BeholdG2400, I am sendingG649 My messengerG32 3beforeG4253 You, WhoG3739 will prepareG2680 Your wayG3598;34The voiceG5456 of one callingG994 5outG994 in the wildernessG2048, ‘PrepareG2090 the wayG3598 of the LordG2962, MakeG4160 His pathsG5147 straightG2117!’” 4JohnG2491 the BaptistG907 appearedG1096 in the wildernessG2048, 67preachingG2784 a baptismG908 of repentanceG3341 for the 8forgivenessG859 of sinsG266. 5And allG3956 the countryG5561 of JudeaG2449 was goingG1607 outG1607 to him, and allG3956 the peopleG2415 ofG2415 JerusalemG2415; and they were being baptizedG907 by him in the JordanG2446 RiverG4215, confessingG1843 their sinsG266. 6JohnG2491 was clothedG1746 with camel’sG2574 hairG2359 and wore 9a leatherG1193 beltG2223 aroundG4012 his waistG3751, and 10his dietG2068 was locustsG200 and wildG66 honeyG3192. 7And he was 11preachingG2784, sayingG3004, “AfterG3694 me One is comingG2064 who is mightierG2478 than I, and I amG1510 not fitG2425 to bendG2955 downG2955 and untieG3089 the strapsG2438 of His sandalsG5266. 8I baptizedG907 you 12with waterG5204; but He will baptizeG907 you 13with the HolyG40 SpiritG4151.”
914In thoseG1565 daysG2250 JesusG2424 15cameG2064 from NazarethG3478 in GalileeG1056 and was baptizedG907 by JohnG2491 in the JordanG2446. 10And immediatelyG2117 comingG305 upG305 out of the waterG5204, He sawG3708 the heavensG3772 16openingG4977, and the SpiritG4151, likeG5613 a doveG4058, descendingG2597 upon Him; 11and a voiceG5456 cameG1096 from the heavensG3772: “17You are My belovedG27 SonG5207; in You I 18amG2106 wellG2106 pleasedG2106.”
1219And immediatelyG2117 the SpiritG4151 broughtG1544 Him outG1544 into the wildernessG2048. 13And He was in the wildernessG2048 for fortyG5065 daysG2250, being temptedG3985 by 20SatanG4567; and He was with the wildG2342 animalsG2342, and the angelsG32 were servingG1247 Him.
1421Now afterG3326 JohnG2491 was 22takenG3860 intoG3860 custodyG3860, JesusG2424 cameG2064 into GalileeG1056, 2324preachingG2784 the gospelG2098 of GodG2316, 15and sayingG3004, “25The timeG2540 is fulfilledG4137, and the kingdomG932 of GodG2316 hasG1448 comeG1448 nearG1448; 26repentG3340 and 27believeG4100 in the gospelG2098.”
1628As He was goingG3855 alongG3855 the SeaG2281 of GalileeG1056, He sawG3708 SimonG4613 and AndrewG406, the brotherG80 of SimonG4613, castingG293 aG293 netG293 in the seaG2281; for they were fishermenG231. 17And JesusG2424 saidG3004 to them, “FollowG1205G3694 Me, and I will haveG4160 you becomeG1096 fishersG231 of peopleG444.” 18ImmediatelyG2117 they leftG863 their netsG1350 and followedG190 Him. 19And goingG4260 on a littleG3641 fartherG4260, He sawG3708 29JamesG2385 the son of ZebedeeG2199, and his brotherG80 JohnG2491, 30whoG846 were alsoG2532 in the boatG4143 mendingG2675 the netsG1350. 20ImmediatelyG2117 He calledG2564 them; and they leftG863 their fatherG3962 ZebedeeG2199 in the boatG4143 with the hiredG3411 menG3411, and wentG565 awayG565 31to followG3694 Him.
2132They wentG1531 into CapernaumG2746; and immediatelyG2117 on the SabbathG4521 Jesus 33enteredG1525 the synagogueG4864 and began to teachG1321. 22And 34they were amazedG1605 at His teachingG1322; for He was teachingG1321 them as one havingG2192 authorityG1849, and not as the scribesG1122. 23JustG2117 thenG2117 there was a manG444 in their synagogueG4864 with an uncleanG169 spiritG4151; and he criedG349 outG349, 24sayingG3004, “35WhatG5101 36business do You have with us, JesusG2424 37of 38NazarethG3479? Have You comeG2064 to destroyG622 us? I knowG3609 whoG5101 You are: 39the HolyG40 OneG40 of GodG2316!” 25And JesusG2424 rebukedG2008 him, sayingG3004, “Be quietG5392, and comeG1831 outG1831 of him!” 26After throwingG4682 him intoG4682 convulsionsG4682 and cryingG5455 outG5455 with a loudG3173 voiceG5456, the uncleanG169 spiritG4151 cameG1831 outG1831 of him. 27And they were allG537 40amazedG2284, soG5620 they debatedG4802 among themselvesG846, sayingG3004, “WhatG5101 is thisG3778? A newG2537 teachingG1322 with authorityG1849! He commandsG2004 evenG2532 the uncleanG169 spiritsG4151, and they obeyG5219 Him.” 28ImmediatelyG2117 the newsG189 about Him spreadG1831 everywhereG3837 into allG3650 the surroundingG4066 regionG4066 of GalileeG1056.
2941And immediatelyG2117 after they leftG2064 42the synagogueG4864, they enteredG2064 the houseG3614 of SimonG4613 and AndrewG406, with 43JamesG2385 and JohnG2491. 30NowG1161 Simon’sG4613 mother-in-lawG3994 was lyingG2621 sickG2621 with a feverG4445; and they immediatelyG2117 spokeG3004 to 44Jesus aboutG4012 her. 31And He cameG4334 to her and raisedG1453 her upG1453, takingG2902 her by the handG5495, and the feverG4446 leftG863 her, and she servedG1247 them.
32NowG1161 45when eveningG3798 cameG1096, 46afterG3753 the sunG2246 had setG1416, they began bringingG5342 to Him allG3956 who were illG2192G2560 and thoseG3588 who were 47demon-possessedG1139. 33And the wholeG3650 48cityG4172 had gatheredG1996 at the doorG2374. 34And He 49healedG2323 manyG4183 who were illG2192G2560 with variousG4164 diseasesG3554, and castG1544 outG1544 manyG4183 demonsG1140; and He would not permitG863 the demonsG1140 to speakG2980, becauseG3754 they knewG3609 50who He was.
3551And in the earlyG4404 morningG4404, whileG1773 it was stillG3029 darkG1773, Jesus gotG450 upG450, leftG565 the house, and wentG565 awayG565 to a secludedG2048 placeG5117, and 52prayedG4336 thereG2546 for a time. 36SimonG4613 and his companionsG3588G3326 eagerlyG2614 searchedG2614 forG2614 Him; 37and they foundG2147 Him and saidG3004 to Him, “EveryoneG3956 is lookingG2212 forG2212 You.” 38He saidG3004 to them, “Let’s goG71 somewhereG237 elseG237 to the townsG2969 nearbyG2192, soG2443 thatG2443 I may alsoG2532 53preachG2784 thereG1563; for thisG3778 isG1519 whyG1519 I cameG1831.” 3954And He wentG2064 into their synagoguesG4864 55preachingG2784 throughoutG1519G3650 GalileeG1056, and castingG1544 outG1544 the demonsG1140.
4056And a manG3015 withG3015 57leprosyG3015 cameG2064 to 58Jesus, imploringG3870 Him and 59kneelingG1120 downG1120, and sayingG3004 to Him, “IfG1437 You are willingG2309, You canG1410 makeG2511 me cleanG2511.” 41MovedG4697 withG4697 compassionG4697, Jesus reachedG1614 outG1614 with His handG5495 and touchedG681 him, and saidG3004 to him, “I amG2309 willingG2309; be cleansedG2511.” 42And immediatelyG2117 the leprosyG3014 leftG565 him, and he was cleansedG2511. 43And He sternlyG1690 warnedG1690 him and immediatelyG2117 sentG1544 him awayG1544, 44and He saidG3004 to him, “60SeeG3708 that you sayG3004 nothingG3367 to anyoneG3367; but 61goG5217, showG1166 yourselfG4572 to the priestG2409 and 62offerG4374 for your cleansingG2512 whatG3739 MosesG3475 commandedG4367, as a testimonyG3142 to them.” 45But he wentG1831 outG1831 and beganG757 to 63proclaimG2784 it 64freelyG4183 and to 65spreadG1310 the newsG3056 aroundG1310, toG5620 suchG5620 anG5620 extentG5620 thatG5620 66Jesus couldG1410 noG3371 longerG3371 publiclyG5320 enterG1525 a cityG4172, but 67stayedG1510 outG1510 in unpopulatedG2048 areasG5117; and 68they were comingG2064 to Him from everywhereG3840.
