2He openedἤνοιξενēnoixenG455the shaftφρέαρphrearG5421of the abyssἀβύσσου·abussouG12, andsmokeκαπνὸςkapnosG2586ascendedἀνέβηanebēG305out of the shaftφρέατοςphreatosG5421likeὡςhōsG5613the smokeκαπνὸςkapnosG2586of a greatμεγάλης,megalēsG3173furnaceκαμίνουkaminouG2575; andthe sunἥλιοςhēliosG2246and the airἀὴρaērG109were darkenedἐσκοτώθηeskotōthēG4656from the smokeκαπνοῦkapnouG2586of the shaftφρέατος.phreatosG5421.

3ThenG2532out of the smokeκαπνοῦkapnouG2586cameἐξῆλθονexēlthonG1831locustsἀκρίδεςakridesG200upon the earthγῆν,gēnG1093,and powerἐξουσία,exousiaG1849was givenἐδόθηedothēG1325them, as thescorpionsσκορπίοιskorpioiG4651of the earthγῆς.gēsG1093haveἔχουσινechousinG2192powerἐξουσίανexousianG1849.

4They were toldG3004not tohurtἀδικήσουσινadikēsousinG91thegrassχόρτονchortonG5528of the earthγῆςgēsG1093,norοὐδὲoudeG3761anyπᾶνpanG3956greenχλωρὸνchlōronG5515thingG5515,norοὐδὲoudeG3761anyπᾶνpanG3956treeδένδρον,dendronG1186,but onlyεἰeiG1487 G3361the peopleἀνθρώπουςanthrōpousG444whoοἵτινεςoitinesG3748do not haveἔχουσινechousinG2192thesealσφραγῖδαsphragidaG4973of GodθεοῦtheouG2316on their foreheadsμετώπωνmetōpōnG3359.

5Andthey were not permittedἐδόθηedothēG1325to killἀποκτείνωσινapokteinōsinG615anyoneG846,but to tormentβασανισθήσονταιbasanisthēsontaiG928forfiveπέντε,penteG4002monthsμῆναςmēnasG3376;and their tormentβασανισμὸςbasanismosG929was likeὡςhōsG5613the tormentβασανισμὸςbasanismosG929of ascorpionσκορπίουskorpiouG4651whenὅτανhotanG3752itstingsπαίσῃpaisēG3817a personἄνθρωπον.¶anthrōponG444.

6And in thoseἐκείναιςekeinaisG1565daysἡμέραιςhēmeraisG2250peopleἄνθρωποιanthrōpoiG444will seekζητήσουσινzētēsousinG2212deathθάνατονthanatonG2288and will not findεὑρήσουσινheurēsousinG2147it; they will longἐπιθυμήσουσινepithumēsousinG1937to dieἀποθανεῖν,apothaneinG599,and deathθάνατοςthanatosG2288will fleeφεύγειpheugeiG5343from them!

7TheappearanceὁμοιώματαhomoiōmataG3667of the locustsἀκρίδωνakridōnG200was likeὅμοιαhomoiaG3664horsesἵπποιςippoisG2462preparedἡτοιμασμένοιςhētoimasmenoisG2090for battleπόλεμον,polemonG4171;and on their headsκεφαλὰςkephalasG2776appearedὡςhōsG5613to be crownsστέφανοιstephanoiG4735likeὅμοιοιhomoioiG3664goldχρυσῷ,chrusōG5557,and their facesπρόσωπαprosōpaG4383were likeὡςhōsG5613humanἀνθρώπων.anthrōpōnG444facesπρόσωπαprosōpaG4383.

8They hadεἶχονeichonG2192hairτρίχαςtrichasG2359likeὡςhōsG5613the hairτρίχαςtrichasG2359of womenγυναικῶν,gunaikōnG1135, and theirteethὀδόντεςodontesG3599were likeὡςhōsG5613the teethof lionsλεόντωνleontōnG3023.

9They hadεἶχονeichonG2192breastplatesθώρακαςthōrakasG2382likeὡςhōsG5613breastplatesθώρακαςthōrakasG2382of ironσιδηροῦς,sidērousG4603; and thesoundφωνὴphōnēG5456of their wingsπτερύγωνpterugōnG4420was likeὡςhōsG5613the soundφωνὴphōnēG5456of chariotsἁρμάτωνharmatōnG716,of manyπολλῶνpollōnG4183horsesἵππωνippōnG2462rushingτρεχόντωνtrechontōnG5143to battleπόλεμον.polemonG4171.

10They haveἔχουσινechousinG2192tailsοὐρὰςourasG3769likeὁμοίαςhomoiasG3664scorpionsσκορπίοιςskorpioisG4651,and stingsκέντραkentraG2759; and in theirtailsοὐραῖςouraisG3769is their powerἐξουσίαexousiaG1849to hurtἀδικῆσαιadikēsaiG91peopleἀνθρώπουςanthrōpousG444forfiveπέντε.penteG4002monthsμῆναςmēnasG3376.

11They haveἔχουσινechousinG2192as kingβασιλέαbasileaG935overἐπ᾽ep᾽G1909them, the angelἄγγελονangelonG32of theabyssἀβύσσου·abussouG12;his nameὄνομαonomaG3686inHebrewἙβραϊστὶHebraistiG1447isAbaddonἈβαδδών,AbaddōnG3,and in the GreekἙλληνικῇHellēnikēaG1673he hasἔχειecheiG2192the nameὄνομαonomaG3686ApollyonἈπολλύων.ApolluōnG623.

12The firstμίαmiaG1520woeοὐαὶouaiG3759has passedἀπῆλθεν·apēlthenG565;beholdἰδοὺidouG2400,twoδύοduoG1417woesοὐαὶouaiG3759are stillἔτιetiG2089comingἔρχεταιerchetaiG2064afterμετὰmetaG3326theseG3778thingsταῦτα.¶tautaG3778.

13ThenG2532the sixthἕκτοςhektosG1623angelἄγγελοςangelosG32soundedἐσάλπισεν,esalpisenG4537,and I heardἤκουσαēkousaG191a voiceφωνὴνphōnēnG5456from thefourτεσσάρωνtessarōnG5064hornsκεράτωνkeratōnG2768of thegoldenχρυσοῦchrusouG5552altarθυσιαστηρίουthusiastēriouG2379which is beforeἐνώπιονenōpionG1799GodθεοῦtheouG2316,

14sayingλέγονταlegontaG3004to the sixthἕκτῳhektōG1623angelἀγγέλῳangelōG32who hadἔχωνechōnG2192the trumpetσάλπιγγα·salpingaG4536, “ReleaseλῦσονlusonG3089thefourτέσσαραςtessarasG5064angelsἀγγέλουςangelousG32who are boundδεδεμένουςdedemenousG1210at thegreatμεγάλῳmegalōG3173riverποταμῷpotamōG4215EuphratesΕὐφράτῃ.EuphratēG2166.”

15And the fourτέσσαρεςtessaresG5064angelsἄγγελοιangeloiG32,who had been preparedἡτοιμασμένοιhētoimasmenoiG2090for the hourὥρανhōranG5610and dayἡμέρανhēmeranG2250and monthμῆναmēnaG3376and yearἐνιαυτὸνeniautonG1763, werereleasedἐλύθησανeluthēsanG3089,soἵναinaG2443thatG2443they would killἀποκτείνωσινapokteinōsinG615athirdτρίτονtritonG5154of mankindἀνθρώπων.anthrōpōnG444.

16The numberἀριθμὸςarithmosG706of the armiesστρατευμάτωνstrateumatōnG4753of the horsemenἱππικοῦhippikouG2461wastwoG1365 G3461hundredG1365 G3461millionG1365 G3461;I heardἤκουσαēkousaG191the numberἀριθμὸνarithmonG706of them.

17And thisG3779isG3779howG3779I sawG3708in my visionὁράσειhoraseiG3706the horsesἵππουςippousG2462and thoseG3588who satκαθημένουςkathēmenousG2521on them: the ridershadἔχονταςechontasG2192breastplatesθώρακαςthōrakasG2382the colorof fireπυρίνουςpurinousG4447,of hyacinthὑακινθίνουςhu'akinthinousG5191,and ofG2306brimstoneG2306;and the headsκεφαλαὶkephalaiG2776of the horsesἵππωνippōnG2462are likeὡςhōsG5613the headsκεφαλαὶkephalaiG2776of lionsλεόντων,leontōnG3023; andout of their mouthsστομάτωνstomatōnG4750cameἐκπορεύεταιekporeuetaiG1607fireπῦρpurG4442and smokeκαπνὸςkapnosG2586andbrimstoneθεῖον.theionG2303.

18AthirdτρίτονtritonG5154of mankindἀνθρώπων,anthrōpōnG444was killedἀπεκτάνθησανapektanthēsanG615by theseτούτωνtoutōnG3778threeτριῶνtriōnG5140plaguesπληγῶνplēgōnG4127, by thefireπυρὸςpurosG4442,the smokeκαπνοῦkapnouG2586, and thebrimstoneθείουtheiouG2303which cameG1607outG1607of their mouthsστομάτωνstomatōnG4750.

19For the powerἐξουσίαexousiaG1849of the horsesἵππωνippōnG2462is in their mouthsστόματιstomatiG4750and in their tailsοὐραῖςouraisG3769;for their tailsοὐραὶouraiG3769are likeὅμοιαιhomoiaiG3664serpentsὄφεσινophesinG3789and haveἔχουσαιechousaiG2192headsκεφαλὰςkephalasG2776,and with them they doG91harmG91.

20The restλοιποὶloipoiG3062of mankindἀνθρώπων,anthrōpōnG444,whoοἳhoiG3739were not killedἀπεκτάνθησανapektanthēsanG615by theseταύταις,tautaisG3778plaguesπληγαῖςplēgaisG4127,did not repentμετενόησανmetenoēsanG3340ofthe worksἔργωνergōnG2041of their handsχειρῶνcheirōnG5495soἵναinaG2443asG2443not toworshipπροσκυνήσουσινproskunēsousinG4352demonsδαιμόνιαdaimoniaG1140andthe idolsεἴδωλαeidōlaG1497of goldχρυσᾶchrusaG5552,silverἀργυρᾶarguraG693,brassχαλκᾶchalkaG5470,stoneλίθιναlithinaG3035,and woodξύλινα,xulinaG3585,whichἃhaG3739canδύνανταιdunantaiG1410neitherοὔτεouteG3777seeβλέπεινblepeinG991norοὔτεouteG3777hearἀκούεινakoueinG191norοὔτεouteG3777walkπεριπατεῖν,peripateinG4043;

21and theydid not repentμετενόησανmetenoēsanG3340of their murdersφόνωνphonōnG5408,norοὔτεouteG3777of theirwitchcraftG5331,norοὔτεouteG3777of theirsexualπορνείαςporneiasG4202immoralityG4202,norοὔτεouteG3777of their theftsκλεμμάτωνklemmatōnG2809.
