Babylon Is Fallen
1AfterG3326 theseG3778 thingsG3778 I sawG3708 anotherG243 1angelG32 2comingG2597 downG2597 from heavenG3772, havingG2192 greatG3173 authorityG1849, and the earthG1093 was 3illuminedG5461 with his gloryG1391. 2And he criedG2896 out with a mightyG2478 voiceG5456, sayingG3004, “45FallenG4098, fallenG4098 is BabylonG897 the greatG3173! She 6has becomeG1096 a dwellingG2732 placeG2732 of demonsG1140 and a 7prisonG5438 of everyG3956 8uncleanG169 spiritG4151, and a 9prisonG5438 of everyG3956 uncleanG169 and hatefulG3404 birdG3732. 3For allG3956 the nationsG1484 10have drunkG4095 of the 11wineG3631 of the 12passionG2372 of her immoralityG4202, and 13the kingsG935 of the earthG1093 have committedG4203 acts of immoralityG4203 with her, and the 14merchantsG1713 of the earthG1093 have becomeG4147 richG4147 by the 15wealthG1411 of her 1617sensualityG4764.”
4I heardG191 anotherG243 voiceG5456 from heavenG3772, sayingG3004, “18ComeG1831 out of her, my peopleG2992, soG2443 that you will not participateG4790 in her sinsG266 and receiveG2983 of her plaguesG4127; 5for her sinsG266 have 1920piledG2853 up as highG891 as heavenG3772, and GodG2316 has 21rememberedG3421 her iniquitiesG92. 622PayG591 her backG591 evenG2532 as she has paidG591, and 23giveG1363 backG1363 to her doubleG1363G1362 accordingG2596 to her deedsG2041; in the 24cupG4221 whichG3739 she has mixedG2767, mixG2767 twiceG1362 as muchG1362 for her. 725To the degreeG3745 that she glorifiedG1392 herselfG846 and 26livedG4763 27sensuouslyG4763, to the sameG5118 degreeG5118 giveG1325 her tormentG929 and mourningG3997; for she saysG3004 in her heartG2588, ‘28I sitG2521 as a queenG938 and I amG1510 not a widowG5503, and will neverG3756 seeG3708 mourningG3997.’ 8For thisG3778 reasonG1223 29in oneG1520 dayG2250 her plaguesG4127 will comeG2240, 30pestilenceG2288 and mourningG3997 and famineG3042, and she will be 31burnedG2618 up with fireG4442; for the LordG2962 GodG2316 who judgesG2919 her 32is strongG2478.
Lament for Babylon
9“And 33the kingsG935 of the earthG1093, who committedG4203 acts of immoralityG4203 and 34livedG4763 35sensuouslyG4763 with her, will 36weepG2799 and lamentG2875 overG1909 her whenG3752 they 37seeG991 the smokeG2586 of her burningG4451, 1038standingG2476 at a distanceG3113 becauseG1223 of the fearG5401 of her tormentG929, sayingG3004, ‘39WoeG3759, woeG3759, 40the greatG3173 cityG4172, BabylonG897, the strongG2478 cityG4172! For in 41oneG1520 hourG5610 your judgmentG2920 has comeG2064.’
11“And the 42merchantsG1713 of the earthG1093 43weepG2799 and mournG3996 overG1909 her, becauseG3754 noG3762 oneG3762 buysG59 their cargoesG1117 anyG3765 moreG3765-- 12cargoesG1117 of 44goldG5557 and silverG696 and preciousG5093 45stonesG3037 and pearlsG3135 and fineG1039 linenG1039 and purpleG4209 and silkG4596 and scarletG2847, and everyG3956 kind of citronG2367 woodG3586 and everyG3956 articleG4632 of ivoryG1661 and everyG3956 articleG4632 made from veryG5093 costlyG5093 woodG3586 and 46bronzeG5475 and ironG4604 and marbleG3139, 13and cinnamonG2796 and 47spiceG299 and incenseG2368 and perfumeG3464 and frankincenseG3030 and wineG3631 and oliveG1637 oilG1637 and fineG4585 flourG4585 and wheatG4621 and cattleG2934 and sheepG4263, and cargoes of horsesG2462 and chariotsG4480 and 48slavesG4983 and 4950humanG444 livesG5590. 14The fruitG3703 51you longG1939 for has goneG565 from you, and allG3956 things that were luxuriousG3045 and splendidG2986 have passedG622 awayG622 from you and men will noG3765 longerG3765 findG2147 them. 15The 52merchantsG1713 of 53theseG3778 thingsG3778, who became richG4147 from her, will 54standG2476 at a distanceG3113 becauseG1223 of the fearG5401 of her tormentG929, weepingG2799 and mourningG3996, 16sayingG3004, ‘55WoeG3759, woeG3759, 56the greatG3173 cityG4172, she who 57was clothedG4016 in fineG1039 linenG1039 and purpleG4210 and scarletG2847, and 58adornedG5558 with goldG5553 and preciousG5093 59stonesG3037 and pearlsG3135; 17for in 60oneG1520 hourG5610 suchG5118 greatG5118 wealthG4149 has been laidG2049 61wasteG2049!’ And 62everyG3956 shipmasterG2942 and everyG3956 63passengerG1909G5117G4126 and sailorG3492, and as manyG3745 as makeG2038 their livingG2038 by the seaG2281, 64stoodG2476 at a distanceG3113, 18and were 65cryingG2896 out as they 66sawG991 the smokeG2586 of her burningG4451, sayingG3004, ‘67WhatG5101 city is likeG3664 68the greatG3173 cityG4172?’ 19And they threwG906 69dustG5529 on their headsG2776 and were cryingG2896 out, weepingG2799 and mourningG3996, sayingG3004, ‘70WoeG3759, woeG3759, the greatG3173 cityG4172, in whichG3739 allG3956 who hadG2192 shipsG4143 at seaG2281 71became richG4147 by her 72wealthG5094, for in 73oneG1520 hourG5610 she has been laidG2049 74wasteG2049!’ 2075RejoiceG2165 overG1909 her, O heavenG3772, and you 76saintsG40 and 77apostlesG652 and prophetsG4396, becauseG3754 78GodG2316 has 79pronouncedG2919 judgmentG2917 for you againstG1537 her.”
21ThenG2532 80a 81strongG2478 angelG32 82tookG142 up a stoneG3037 likeG5613 a greatG3173 millstoneG3457 and threwG906 it into the seaG2281, sayingG3004, “SoG3779 will BabylonG897, 83the greatG3173 cityG4172, be thrownG906 down with violenceG3731, and 84will not be foundG2147 anyG2089 longerG2089. 22And 85the soundG5456 of harpistsG2790 and musiciansG3451 and flute-playersG834 and trumpetersG4538 will not be heardG191 in you anyG2089 longerG2089; and noG3756G3361G3956 craftsmanG5079 of anyG3956 craftG5078 will be foundG2147 in you anyG2089 longerG2089; and the 86soundG5456 of a millG3458 will not be heardG191 in you anyG2089 longerG2089; 23and the lightG5457 of a lampG3088 will not shineG5316 in you anyG2089 longerG2089; and the 87voiceG5456 of the bridegroomG3566 and brideG3565 will not be heardG191 in you anyG2089 longerG2089; for your 88merchantsG1713 were the greatG3175 menG3175 of the earthG1093, becauseG3754 allG3956 the nationsG1484 were deceivedG4105 89by your sorceryG5331. 24And in her was foundG2147 the 90bloodG129 of prophetsG4396 and of 91saintsG40 and of 92allG3956 who have been slainG4969 on the earthG1093.”
