Revelation 18
Darby Bible
1After these thingsG3778 I sawG3708 another angelG32 descendingG2597 out of the heavenG3772, having greatG3173 authorityG1849: and the earthG1093 was lightened with his gloryG1391. 2And he criedG2896 with a strongG2478 voiceG5456, sayingG3004, GreatG3173 BabylonG897 has fallenG4098, has fallenG4098, and has becomeG1096 the habitation of demonsG1140, and a hold of every uncleanG169 spiritG4151, and a hold of every uncleanG169 and hatedG3404 birdG3732; 3because all the nationsG1484 have drunkG4095 of the wineG3631 of the fury of her fornication; and the kingsG935 of the earthG1093 have committedG4203 fornication with her, and the merchantsG1713 of the earthG1093 have been enriched through the might of her luxury. 4And I heardG191 another voiceG5456 out of the heavenG3772 sayingG3004, ComeG1831 out of her, my peopleG2992, that ye have not fellowship in her sinsG266, and that ye do not receiveG2983 of her plaguesG4127: 5for her sinsG266 have been heaped on oneG3588 another up to the heavenG3772, and 1GodG2316 has rememberedG3421 her unrighteousnesses. 6Recompense her evenG2532 as she has recompensed; and doubleG1362 [to her] doubleG1362, accordingG2596 to her worksG2041. In the cupG4221 which she has mixedG2767, mixG2767 to her doubleG1362. 7So muchG3745 as she has glorifiedG1392 herself and lived luxuriously, so muchG3745 tormentG929 and grief giveG1325 to her. Because she saysG3004 in her heartG2588, I sitG2521 a queenG938, and I amG1510 not a widowG5503; and I shall in no wise seeG3708 grief: 8for this reason in oneG1520 dayG2250 shall her plaguesG4127 comeG2240, deathG2288 and grief and famineG3042, and she shall be burnt with fireG4442; for strongG2478 [is the] LordG2962 2GodG2316 who has judgedG2919 her. 9And the kingsG935 of the earthG1093, who have committedG4203 fornication, and lived luxuriously with her, shall weepG2799 and wailG2875 over her, whenG3752 they seeG991 the smokeG2586 of her burningG4451, 10standingG2476 afar off, through fearG5401 of her tormentG929, sayingG3004, WoeG3759, woeG3759, the greatG3173 cityG4172, BabylonG897, the strongG2478 cityG4172! for in oneG1520 hourG5610 thy judgmentG2920 is comeG2064. 11And the merchantsG1713 of the earthG1093 weepG2799 and grieve over her, because no oneG3762 buysG59 their lading any more; 12lading of goldG5557, and silverG696, and preciousG5093 stonesG3037, and pearlG3135, and fineG1039 linenG1039, and purpleG4209, and silk, and scarletG2847 dye, and all thyine woodG3586, and every articleG4632 in ivory, and every articleG4632 in most preciousG5093 woodG3586, and in brass, and in iron, and in marble, 13and cinnamon, and amomum, and incenseG2368, and unguent, and frankincenseG3030, and wineG3631, and oilG1637, and fine flour, and wheatG4621, and cattle, and sheepG4263, and of horsesG2462, and of chariots, and of bodiesG4983, and soulsG5590 of menG444. 14And the ripe fruits which were the lustG1939 of thy soulG5590 have departedG565 from thee, and all fair and splendidG2986 thingsG3956 have perishedG622 from thee, and they shall not findG2147 them any more at all. 15The merchantsG1713 of these thingsG3778, who had been enriched through her, shall standG2476 afar off through fearG5401 of her tormentG929, weepingG2799 and grieving, 16sayingG3004, WoeG3759, woeG3759, the greatG3173 cityG4172, which [was] clothed with fineG1039 linenG1039 and purpleG4210 and scarletG2847, and had ornaments of goldG5553 and preciousG5093 stonesG3037 and pearlsG3135! 17for in oneG1520 hourG5610 so great richesG4149 has been made desolate. And every steersman, and every oneG1520 who sailedG4126 to any placeG5117, and sailorsG3492, and all who exercise their calling on the seaG2281, stoodG2476 afar off, 18and criedG2896, seeingG991 the smokeG2586 of her burningG4451, sayingG3004, What [cityG4172] is likeG3664 to the greatG3173 cityG4172? 19and castG906 dustG5522 upon their headsG2776, and criedG2896, weepingG2799 and grieving, sayingG3004, WoeG3759, woeG3759, the greatG3173 cityG4172, in which all that had shipsG4143 in the seaG2281 were enriched through her costliness! for in oneG1520 hourG5610 she has been made desolate. 20RejoiceG2165 over her, heavenG3772, and [ye] saintsG40 and apostlesG652 and prophetsG4396; for 3GodG2316 has judgedG2919 your judgmentG2917 upon her. 21And a strongG2478 angelG32 tookG142 up a stoneG3037, as a greatG3173 millstoneG3458, and castG906 [it] into the seaG2281, sayingG3004, ThusG3779 with violence shall BabylonG897 the greatG3173 cityG4172 be castG906 down, and shall be foundG2147 no moreG2089 at all; 22and voiceG5456 of harp-singers and musicians and flute-playersG834 and trumpeters shall not be heardG191 any moreG2089 at all in thee, and no artificer of any art shall be foundG2147 any moreG2089 at all in thee, and voiceG5456 of millstoneG3458 shall be heardG191 no moreG2089 at all in thee, 23and lightG5457 of lampG3088 shall shineG5316 no moreG2089 at all in thee, and voiceG5456 of bridegroomG3566 and brideG3565 shall beG1510 heardG191 no moreG2089 at all in thee; for thy merchantsG1713 wereG1510 the great ones of the earthG1093; for by thy sorceryG5331 have all the nationsG1484 beenG1510 deceivedG4105. 24And in her was foundG2147 [the] bloodG129 of prophetsG4396 and saintsG40, and of all the slainG4969 upon the earthG1093.
