Luke 11:33-54
33“1NoG3762 oneG3762, after lightingG681 a lampG3088, putsG5087 it awayG5087 in a cellarG2926 norG3761 underG5259 a basketG3426, but on the lampstandG3087, soG2443 that thoseG3588 who enterG1531 may seeG991 the lightG5338. 342The eyeG3788 is the lampG3088 of your bodyG4983; whenG3752 your eyeG3788 is 3clearG573, your wholeG3650 bodyG4983 alsoG2532 is fullG5460 of lightG5460; but whenG1875 it is 4badG4190, your bodyG4983 alsoG2532 is fullG4652 of darknessG4652. 35ThenG3767 watchG4648 out that the lightG5457 in you is not darknessG4655. 36IfG1487 thereforeG3767 your wholeG3650 bodyG4983 is fullG5460 of lightG5460, with noG3361G5100 darkG4652 partG3313 in it, it will be whollyG3650 illuminedG5460, as whenG3752 the lampG3088 illuminesG5461 you with its raysG796.”
37NowG1161 whenG1722 He had spokenG2980, a PhariseeG5330 askedG2065 Him to haveG709 lunchG709 with him; and He wentG1525 in, and reclinedG377 at the table. 38When the PhariseeG5330 sawG3708 it, he was surprisedG2296 that He had not firstG4413 56ceremoniallyG907 washedG907 beforeG4253 the 7mealG712. 39But 8the LordG2962 saidG3004 to him, “NowG3568 9you PhariseesG5330 cleanG2511 the outsideG1855 of the cupG4221 and of the platterG4094; but 10insideG2081 of you, you are fullG1073 of robberyG724 and wickednessG4189. 4011You foolishG878 onesG878, did not He who madeG4160 the outsideG1855 makeG4160 the insideG2081 alsoG2532? 41But 12giveG1325 that which is withinG1751 as charityG1654, and 13thenG2400 allG3956 thingsG3956 are 14cleanG2513 for you.
42“15But woeG3759 to you PhariseesG5330! For you 16payG586 titheG586 of mintG2238 and rueG4076 and everyG3956 kind of gardenG3001 herbG3001, and yet disregardG3928 justiceG2920 and the loveG26 of GodG2316; but theseG3778 are the thingsG3778 you shouldG1163 have doneG4160 withoutG3361 neglectingG3935 the othersG2548. 43WoeG3759 to you PhariseesG5330! For you 17loveG25 the chiefG4410 seatsG4410 in the synagoguesG4864 and the respectful greetingsG783 in the marketG58 placesG58. 4418WoeG3759 to you! For you are likeG5613 19concealedG82 tombsG3419, and the peopleG444 who walkG4043 overG1883 them are unawareG3756G3609 of it.”
45OneG5100 of the 2021lawyersG3544 saidG3004 to Him in replyG611, “TeacherG1320, when You sayG3004 thisG3778, You insultG5195 us tooG2532.” 46But He saidG3004, “WoeG3759 to you 22lawyersG3544 as wellG2532! For 23you weighG5412 menG444 downG5412 with burdensG5413 hardG1419 to bearG1419, 24whileG2532 you yourselvesG846 will not even touchG4379 the burdensG5413 with oneG1520 of your fingersG1147. 4725WoeG3759 to you! For you buildG3618 the 26tombsG3419 of the prophetsG4396, and it was your fathersG3962 who killedG615 them. 48SoG686 you are witnessesG3144 and approveG4909 the deedsG2041 of your fathersG3962; becauseG3754 it was they who killedG615 them, and you buildG3618 their tombs. 49For thisG3778 reasonG1223 alsoG2532 27the wisdomG4678 of GodG2316 saidG3004, ‘28I will sendG649 to them prophetsG4396 and apostlesG652, and some of them they will killG615 and some they will 29persecuteG1377, 50soG2443 that the bloodG129 of allG3956 the prophetsG4396, shedG1632 30sinceG575 the foundationG2602 of the worldG2889, may be 31chargedG1567 againstG575 thisG3778 generationG1074, 51from 32the bloodG129 of AbelG6 to 33the bloodG129 of ZechariahG2197, who was killedG622 betweenG3342 the altarG2379 and the houseG3624 of God; yesG3483, I tellG3004 you, it shall be 34chargedG1567 againstG575 thisG3778 generationG1074.’ 52WoeG3759 to you 3536lawyersG3544! For you have takenG142 awayG142 the keyG2807 of knowledgeG1108; 37you yourselvesG846 did not enterG1525, and you hinderedG2967 thoseG3588 who were enteringG1525.”
53When He leftG1831 thereG2547, the scribesG1122 and the PhariseesG5330 beganG757 to be veryG1171 hostileG1758 and to questionG653 Him closelyG653 on manyG4183 subjectsG4183, 5438plottingG1748 againstG1748 Him 39to catchG2340 40Him in somethingG5100 He might sayG1537G4750.
