Luke 11:33-54
33But no oneG3762 having lit a lampG3088 sets it in secret, nor under the corn-measure, but on the lamp-stand, that they who enterG1531 in may seeG991 the lightG5338. 34The lampG3088 of the bodyG4983 isG1510 thine eyeG3788: whenG3752 thine eyeG3788 isG1510 simple, thy wholeG3650 bodyG4983 alsoG2532 isG1510 lightG5460; but whenG3752 it isG1510 wickedG4190, thy bodyG4983 alsoG2532 isG1510 darkG4652. 35See thereforeG3767 that the lightG5457 which isG1510 in thee beG1510 not darknessG4655. 36If thereforeG3767 thy wholeG3650 bodyG4983 [isG1510] lightG5461, not having any partG3313 darkG4652, it shall beG1510 all lightG5461 as whenG3752 the lampG3088 lightsG5461 thee with its brightness. 37But as he spokeG2980, a certain PhariseeG5330 askedG2065 him that he would dine with him; and enteringG1525 in he placed himself at table. 38But the PhariseeG5330 seeingG3708 [it] wonderedG2296 that he had not firstG4413 washed before dinnerG712. 39But the LordG2962 saidG3004 to him, NowG1161 do ye PhariseesG5330 cleanseG2511 the outsideG1855 of the cupG4221 and of the dish, but your inward [parts] are fullG1073 of plunder and wickednessG4189. 40FoolsG878, has not he who has madeG4160 the outsideG1855 madeG4160 the insideG2081 alsoG2532? 41But rather giveG1325 almsG1654 of what ye have, and beholdG2400, all thingsG3956 areG1510 cleanG2513 to you. 42But woeG3759 unto you, PhariseesG5330, for ye pay tithes of mintG2238 and rue and every herb, and passG3928 by the judgmentG2920 and the loveG26 of 1GodG2316: these ye oughtG1163 to have done, and not have left those aside. 43WoeG3759 unto you, PhariseesG5330, for ye loveG25 the first seat in the synagoguesG4864 and salutations in the market-places. 44WoeG3759 unto you, for ye areG1510 as the sepulchres which appear not, and the menG444 walkingG4043 over them do not know [it]. 45And oneG5100 of the doctors of the law answeringG611 saysG3004 to him, TeacherG1320, in sayingG3004 these thingsG3778 thou insultest us alsoG2532. 46And he saidG3004, To you alsoG2532 woeG3759, doctors of the law, for ye lay upon menG444 burdensG5413 heavy to bearG1419, and yourselves do not touch the burdensG5413 with oneG1520 of your fingersG1147. 47WoeG3759 unto you, for ye buildG3618 the sepulchres of the prophetsG4396, but your fathersG3962 killedG615 them. 48Ye bear witnessG3144 then, and consent to the worksG2041 of your fathersG3962; for they killedG615 them, and ye buildG3618 [their sepulchres]. 49For this reason alsoG2532 the wisdomG4678 of 2GodG2316 has saidG3004, I will sendG649 to them prophetsG4396 and apostlesG652, and of these shall they killG615 and drive out by persecution, 50that the bloodG129 of all the prophetsG4396 which has been poured out from the foundationG2602 of the worldG2889 may be required of this generationG1074, 51from the bloodG129 of AbelG6 to the bloodG129 of Zacharias, who perishedG622 between the altarG2379 and the houseG3624; yea, I sayG3004 to you, it shall be required of this generationG1074. 52WoeG3759 unto you, the doctors of the law, for ye have takenG142 awayG142 the keyG2807 of knowledgeG1108; yourselves have not enteredG1525 in, and those who were enteringG1525 in ye have hinderedG2967. 53And as he said these thingsG4183 to them, the scribesG1122 and the PhariseesG5330 beganG757 to press him urgently, and to make him speak of manyG4183 thingsG4183; 54watching him, [and seeking] to catch somethingG5100 out of his mouthG4750, [that they might accuse him].
