Romans 11:1-24
1I sayG3004 then, Has 1GodG2316 cast awayG683 his peopleG2992? Far beG1510 the thought. For I alsoG2532 amG1510 an IsraeliteG2475, of [the] seedG4690 of AbrahamG11, of [the] tribeG5443 of BenjaminG958.
22GodG2316 has not cast awayG683 his peopleG2992 whom he foreknew. Know ye not what the scriptureG1124 saysG3004 in [the history of] Elias, howG5613 he pleads with 3GodG2316 against IsraelG2474?
3LordG2962, they have killedG615 thy prophetsG4396, they have dug down thine altarsG2379; and I have been left aloneG3441, and they seekG2212 my lifeG5590.
4But what saysG3004 the divine answer to him? I have leftG2641 to myself seven thousand menG435, who have not bowedG2578 kneeG1119 to Baal.
5Thus, then, in the presentG3568 timeG2540 alsoG2532 there has been a remnant accordingG2596 to electionG1589 of graceG5485.
6But if by graceG5485, no longer of worksG2041: since [otherwiseG1893] graceG5485 is no more graceG5485.
7What [is it] thenG3767? What IsraelG2474 seeksG1934 for, that he has not obtainedG2013; but the electionG1589 has obtainedG2013, and the restG3062 have been blinded,
8according as it is writtenG1125, 4GodG2316 has givenG1325 to them a spiritG4151 of slumber, eyesG3788 not to seeG991, and earsG3775 not to hearG191, unto this dayG2250.
9And DavidG1138 saysG3004, Let their tableG5132 be for a snareG3803, and for a gin, and for a fall-trap, and for a recompense to them:
10let their eyesG3788 be darkenedG4654 not to seeG991, and bow down their back alway.
11I sayG3004 thenG3767, Have they stumbled in orderG2443 that they might fallG4098? Far be the thought: but by their fallG4098 [there is] salvationG4991 to the nationsG1484 to provokeG3863 them to jealousyG3863.
12But if their fall [be the] world's wealthG4149, and their loss [the] wealthG4149 of [the] nationsG1484, howG4214 muchG4214 ratherG3123 their fulness?
13For I speakG3004 to you, the nationsG1484, inasmuch as I amG1510 apostleG652 of nationsG1484, I glorifyG1392 my ministryG1248;
14if by any means I shall provokeG3863 to jealousyG3863 [them which are] my fleshG4561, and shall saveG4982 some from among them.
15For if their casting away [be the] world's reconciliationG2643, what [their] reception but lifeG2222 from among [the] deadG3498?
16NowG1161 if the first-fruit [be] holyG40, the lumpG5445 alsoG2532; and if the rootG4491 [be] holyG40, the branchesG2798 alsoG2532.
17NowG1161 if some of the branchesG2798 have beenG1510 broken out, and thou, beingG1510 a wildG65 oliveG1636 treeG1636, hast beenG1510 graftedG1461 in amongst them, and hast becomeG1096 a fellow-partaker of the rootG4491 and of the fatness of the oliveG1636 treeG1636,
18boastG2620 not against the branchesG2798; but if thou boastG2620, [it is] not thou bearest the rootG4491, but the rootG4491 thee.
19Thou wilt sayG3004 thenG3767, The branchesG2798 have been broken out in orderG2443 that I might be graftedG1461 in.
20Right: they have been broken out through unbeliefG570, and thou standest through faithG4102. Be not high-minded, but fearG5399:
21if 5GodG2316 indeedG1063 has not spared the natural branchesG2798; lest it might be he spareG5339 not thee either.
22BeholdG2396 then [the] goodness and severityG663 of 6GodG2316: upon them who have fallenG4098, severityG663; upon thee goodness of 7GodG2316, if thou shalt abide in goodness, since [otherwiseG1893] thou alsoG2532 wilt be cutG1581 away.
23And they too, if they abide not in unbeliefG570, shall beG1510 graftedG1461 in; for 8GodG2316 isG1510 ableG1415 againG3825 to graft them in.
24For if thou hast been cutG1581 out of the oliveG1636 treeG1636 wildG65 by natureG5449, and, contraryG3844 to natureG5449, hast been graftedG1461 into the good oliveG1636 treeG1636, howG4214 muchG4214 ratherG3123 shall they, who are accordingG2596 to natureG5449 be graftedG1461 into their ownG2398 oliveG1636 treeG1636?
