Jeremiah 22:13-23

WoeH1945 unto him that buildeth his houseH1004 by unrighteousness, and his upperH5944 chambersH5944 by injustice; that taketh his neighbour's service without wagesH6467, and giveth him not his earning;

that saith, I will buildH1129 me a wide houseH1004, and spacious upperH5944 chambersH5944; and he cutteth out for himself windowsH2474; and it is wainscoted with cedarH730, and painted with vermilionH8350.

Shalt thou reignH4427, because thou viest with the cedarH730? Did not thy fatherH1 eatH398 and drinkH8354, and do judgmentH4941 and justiceH4941? ThenH227 it was well with him.

He judged the causeH1779 of the poorH6041 and needyH34; thenH227 it was well. Was not this to know me? saith Jehovah.

But thine eyesH5869 and thy heartH3820 are only on thine extortionH6233, and on the bloodH1818 of the innocentH5355, to shedH8210 it, and on oppressionH6233 and on violence, to do it.

ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith Jehovah concerningH413 JehoiakimH3079 the sonH1121 of JosiahH2977, the kingH4428 of JudahH3063: They shall not lamentH5594 for him, Ah, my brotherH251! or, Ah, sisterH269! They shall not lamentH5594 for him, Ah, lord! or Ah, his glory!

He shall be buriedH6912 with the burialH6900 of an ass, draggedH5498 along and castH7993 forth beyond the gatesH8179 of JerusalemH3389.

GoH5927 up to LebanonH3844, and cryH6817; and giveH5414 forth thy voiceH6963 in BashanH1316, and cryH6817 from [the heights of] AbarimH5682: for all thy loversH157 are destroyed.

I spokeH1696 unto thee in thy prosperityH7962; [but] thou saidst, I will not hearH8085. This hath been thy wayH1870 from thy youthH5271, that thou hearkenedst not unto my voiceH6963.

The windH7307 shall feedH7462 on all thy shepherdsH7462, and thy loversH157 shall go into captivityH7628; surely, thenH227 shalt thou be ashamedH954 and confounded for all thy wickednessH7451.

Thou inhabitress of LebanonH3844, that makest thy nestH7077 in the cedarsH730, howH4100 pitiful shalt thou be when pangs comeH935 upon thee, pain as of a woman in travail!
