Jeremiah 22:13-23 13 Woe ה֣וֹי Ho H1945 unto him that buildeth his house בֵיתוֹ֙ vei.To H1004 by unrighteousness, and his upper וַעֲלִיּוֹתָ֖יו va.'a.li.yo.Tav H5944 chambers H5944 by injustice; that taketh his neighbour's service without wages וּפֹעֲל֖וֹ u.fo.'a.Lo H6467 , and giveth him not his earning; 14 that saith, I will build אֶבְנֶה־ 'ev.neh- H1129 me a wide house בֵּ֣ית beit H1004 , and spacious upper וַעֲלִיּ֖וֹת va.'a.li.Yot H5944 chambers H5944 ; and he cutteth out for himself windows חַלּוֹנָ֔י cha.lo.Nai H2474 ; and it is wainscoted with cedar בָּאָ֔רֶז ba.'A.rez H730 , and painted with vermilion בַּשָּׁשַֽׁר׃ ba.sha.Shar H8350 . 15 Shalt thou reign H4427 , because thou viest with the cedar בָאָ֑רֶז va.'A.rez H730 ? Did not thy father אָבִ֜יךָ 'a.Vi.kha H1 eat אָכַ֣ל 'a.Khal H398 and drink וְשָׁתָ֗ה ve.sha.Tah H8354 , and do judgment H4941 and justice מִשְׁפָּט֙ mish.Pat H4941 ? Then אָ֖ז 'az H227 it was well with him . 16 He judged the cause דִּין־ din- H1779 of the poor עָנִ֥י 'a.Ni H6041 and needy וְאֶבְי֖וֹן ve.'ev.Yon H34 ; then אָ֣ז 'az H227 it was well . Was not this to know me ? saith Jehovah . 17 But thine eyes עֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ 'ei.Nei.kha H5869 and thy heart וְלִבְּךָ֔ ve.li.be.Kha H3820 are only on thine extortion H6233 , and on the blood דַּֽם־ dam- H1818 of the innocent הַנָּקִי֙ ha.na.Ki H5355 , to shed לִשְׁפּ֔וֹךְ lish.Pokh H8210 it , and on oppression הָעֹ֥שֶׁק ha.'O.shek H6233 and on violence , to do it . 18 Therefore לָכֵ֞ן la.Khen H3651 thus כֹּֽה־ koh- H3541 saith Jehovah concerning H413 Jehoiakim יְהוֹיָקִ֤ים ye.ho.ya.Kim H3079 the son בֶּן־ ben- H1121 of Josiah יֹאשִׁיָּ֙הוּ֙ yo.shi.Ya.hu H2977 , the king מֶ֣לֶךְ Me.lekh H4428 of Judah יְהוּדָ֔ה ye.hu.Dah H3063 : They shall not lament H5594 for him , Ah , my brother אָחִ֖י 'a.Chi H251 ! or , Ah , sister אָח֑וֹת 'a.Chot H269 ! They shall not lament H5594 for him , Ah , lord ! or Ah , his glory ! 19 He shall be buried H6912 with the burial קְבוּרַ֥ת ke.vu.Rat H6900 of an ass, dragged סָח֣וֹב sa.Chov H5498 along and cast H7993 forth beyond the gates H8179 of Jerusalem יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ ס ye.ru.sha.Lim H3389 . 20 Go עֲלִ֤י 'a.Li H5927 up to Lebanon הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ ha.le.va.nOn H3844 , and cry וּֽצְעָ֔קִי u.tze.'A.ki H6817 ; and give תְּנִ֣י te.Ni H5414 forth thy voice קוֹלֵ֑ךְ ko.Lekh H6963 in Bashan וּבַבָּשָׁ֖ן u.va.ba.Shan H1316 , and cry וְצַֽעֲקִי֙ ve.tza.'a.Ki H6817 from [ the heights of ] Abarim מֵֽעֲבָרִ֔ים me.'a.va.Rim H5682 : for all thy lovers מְאַהֲבָֽיִךְ׃ me.'a.ha.Va.yikh H157 are destroyed. 21 I spoke H1696 unto thee in thy prosperity בְּשַׁלְוֹתַ֔יִךְ be.shal.vo.Ta.yikh H7962 ; [ but ] thou saidst, I will not hear H8085 . This hath been thy way דַרְכֵּךְ֙ dar.keKh H1870 from thy youth מִנְּעוּרַ֔יִךְ mi.ne.'u.Ra.yikh H5271 , that thou hearkenedst not unto my voice בְּקוֹלִֽי׃ be.ko.Li H6963 . 22 The wind ר֔וּחַ Ru.ach H7307 shall feed H7462 on all thy shepherds H7462 , and thy lovers וּֽמְאַהֲבַ֖יִךְ u.me.'a.ha.Va.yikh H157 shall go into captivity בַּשְּׁבִ֣י ba.she.Vi H7628 ; surely , then אָ֤ז 'az H227 shalt thou be ashamed תֵּבֹ֙שִׁי֙ te.Vo.shi H954 and confounded for all thy wickedness רָעָתֵֽךְ׃ ra.'a.Tekh H7451 . 23 Thou inhabitress of Lebanon בַּלְּבָנ֔וֹן ba.le.va.Non H3844 , that makest thy nest H7077 in the cedars בָּֽאֲרָזִ֑ים ba.'a.ra.Zim H730 , how מַה־ mah- H4100 pitiful shalt thou be when pangs come בְּבֹא־ be.vo'- H935 upon thee, pain as of a woman in travail!
