2 Corinthians 5
Darby Bible
1For we know that if our earthlyG1919 tabernacle houseG3614 be destroyedG2647, we have a buildingG3619 from 1GodG2316, a houseG3614 not made with handsG886, eternalG166 in the heavensG3772. 2For indeed in this we groanG4727, ardently desiring to have put on our house which [is] from heavenG3772; 3if indeed being alsoG2532 clothed we shall not be foundG2147 nakedG1131. 4For indeed we who areG1510 in the tabernacle groanG4727, beingG1510 burdenedG916; while yet we do not wishG2309 to beG1510 unclothed, but clothed, that [what isG1510] mortalG2349 may beG1510 swallowedG2666 up by lifeG2222. 5NowG1161 he that has wrought us for this very thingG3778 [is] 2GodG2316, who alsoG1161 has givenG1325 to us the earnest of the SpiritG4151. 6ThereforeG3767 [we are] alwaysG3842 confident, and know that while present in the bodyG4983 we are absentG1553 from the LordG2962, 7(for we walkG4043 by faithG4102, not by sight;) 8we are confident, I say, and pleased ratherG3123 to be absentG1553 from the bodyG4983 and present with the LordG2962. 9Wherefore alsoG2532 we areG1510 zealous, whether present or absentG1553, to beG1510 agreeable to him. 10For we must all be manifestedG5319 before the judgment-seat of the ChristG5547, that each may receiveG2865 the thingsG3956 [done] in the bodyG4983, according to those he has done, whether [it be] goodG18 or evilG5337. 11Knowing thereforeG3767 the terror of the LordG2962 we persuadeG3982 menG444, but have been manifestedG5319 to 3GodG2316, and I hopeG1679 alsoG2532 that we have been manifestedG5319 in your consciencesG4893. 12[For] we do not againG3825 commendG4921 ourselves to you, but [we are] givingG1325 to you occasionG874 of boastG2744 in our behalfG5228, that ye may have [such] with those boastingG2745 in countenance, and not in heartG2588. 13For whether we are beside ourselves, [it is] to 4GodG2316; or are sober, [it is] for you. 14For the loveG26 of the ChristG5547 constrains us, having judgedG2919 this: that oneG1520 died for all, thenG686 all have died; 15and he diedG599 for all, that they who liveG2198 should noG3371 longerG3371 liveG2198 to themselves, but to him who diedG599 for them and has been raisedG1453. 16So that we henceforth knowG1097 no oneG3762 accordingG2596 to fleshG4561; but if evenG2532 we have knownG1097 ChristG5547 accordingG2596 to fleshG4561, yet nowG3568 we knowG1097 [him thus] noG3762 longer. 17SoG5620 if any oneG5100 [be] in ChristG5547, [there is] a newG2537 creationG2937; the oldG744 things have passedG3928 awayG3928; beholdG2400 all things have becomeG1096 newG2537: 18and all thingsG3956 [are] of the 5GodG2316 who has reconciled us to himself by [Jesus] ChristG5547, and givenG1325 to us the ministryG1248 of that reconciliationG2643: 19howG5613 that 6GodG2316 wasG1510 in ChristG5547, reconciling the worldG2889 to himself, not reckoning to them their offences; and puttingG5087 in us the wordG3056 of that reconciliationG2643. 20We are ambassadors thereforeG3767 for ChristG5547, 7GodG2316 as [it were] beseechingG3870 by us, we entreat for ChristG5547, Be reconciled to 8GodG2316. 21Him who knewG1097 not sinG266 he has madeG4160 sinG266 for us, that we might becomeG1096 9God's righteousnessG1343 in him.
