2 Corinthians 8
1But we makeG1107 known to you, brethren, the graceG5485 of 1GodG2316 bestowed in the assemblies of MacedoniaG3109; 2that in a greatG4183 trial of afflictionG2347 the abundanceG4052 of their joyG5479 and their deepG899 povertyG4432 has aboundedG4052 to the richesG4149 of their [free-hearted] liberality. 3For accordingG2596 to [their] powerG1411, I bearG3140 witnessG3140, and beyond [their] powerG1411, [they were] willing of their own accord, 4begging of us with muchG4183 entreaty [to give effect to] the graceG5485 and fellowshipG2842 of the serviceG1248 which [was to be rendered] to the saintsG40. 5And not according as we hopedG1679, but they gaveG1325 themselves firstG4413 to the LordG2962, and to us by 2God's will. 6SoG2443 that we begged TitusG5103 that, according as he had before begun, so he would alsoG2532 completeG2005 as to you this graceG5485 alsoG2532; 7but evenG2532 as ye aboundG4052 in every way, in faithG4102, and wordG3056, and knowledgeG1108, and all diligenceG4710, and in loveG26 from you to us, that ye may aboundG4052 in this graceG5485 alsoG2532. 8I do not speakG3004 as commanding [it], but through the zeal of othersG2087, and proving the genuineness of your loveG26. 9For ye knowG1097 the graceG5485 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547, that for your sakes he, beingG1510 richG4145, became poor, in orderG2443 that ye by his povertyG4432 might beG1510 enriched. 10And I giveG1325 [my] opinion in this, for this is profitableG4851 for you who began before, not onlyG3440 to do, but alsoG2532 to be willingG2309, a yearG4070 ago. 11But nowG1161 alsoG2532 completeG2005 the doing of it; so that as [there was] the readinessG4288 to be willingG2309, so alsoG2532 to completeG2005 out of what ye have. 12For if the readinessG4288 be there, [a man is] accepted according to what he may have, not according to what he has not. 13For [it is] not in orderG2443 that there may be easeG425 for othersG243, and for you distress, 14but [on the principle] of equality; in the presentG3568 timeG2540 your abundance for their lack, that their abundance may be for your lack, soG2443 that there should be equality. 15According as it is writtenG1125, He who [gathered] muchG4183 had no excess, and he who [gathered] littleG3641 was nothing short. 16But thanksG5485 [be] to 3GodG2316, who givesG1325 the sameG846 diligent zeal for you in the heartG2588 of TitusG5103. 17For he receivedG1209 indeedG3303 the entreaty, but, being full of zeal, he wentG1831 of his own accord to you; 18but we have sent with him the brotherG80 whose praiseG1868 [is] in the glad tidings through all the assemblies; 19and not onlyG3440 [so], but [is] alsoG2532 chosen by the assemblies as our fellow-traveller with this graceG5485, ministeredG1247 by us to the gloryG1391 of the LordG2962 himself, and [a witness of] our readinessG4288; 20avoiding this, that any oneG5100 should blame us in this abundance [which is] administeredG1247 by us; 21for we provide for things honest, not onlyG3440 before [the] LordG2962, but alsoG2532 before menG444. 22And we have sent with them our brotherG80 whom we have oftenG4178 proved to beG1510 of diligent zeal in manyG4183 thingsG4183, and nowG1161 moreG4183 diligently zealous through the greatG4183 confidenceG4006 [he has] as to you. 23Whether as regards TitusG5103, [he is] my companion and fellow-labourer in your behalfG5228; or our brethren, [they are] deputed messengersG652 of assemblies, Christ's gloryG1391. 24Shew thereforeG3767 to them, before the assemblies, the proof of your loveG26, and of our boastingG2746 about you.
