2 Corinthians 12
Darby Bible
1Well, it is not of profit to me to boastG2744, for I will comeG2064 to visionsG3701 and revelationsG602 of [the] LordG2962. 2I know a manG444 in ChristG5547, fourteenG1180 yearsG2094 ago, (whether in [the] bodyG4983 I know not, or out of the bodyG4983 I know not, 1GodG2316 knows;) suchG5108 [a one] caught up to [the] thirdG5154 heavenG3772. 3And I know such a manG444, (whether in [the] bodyG4983 or out of the bodyG4983 I know not, 2GodG2316 knows;) 4that he was caught up into paradiseG3857, and heardG191 unspeakable thingsG3739 saidG2980 which it is not allowed to manG444 to utter. 5Of suchG5108 [a oneG3588] I will boastG2744, but of myself I will not boastG2744, unless in my weaknessesG769. 6For if I shall desireG2309 to boastG2744, I shall not beG1510 a foolG878; for I will sayG3004 [the] truthG225; but I forbear, lestG3361 any oneG5100 should think as to me above what he seesG991 me [to beG1510], or whatever he may hearG191 of me. 7And that I might not be exalted by the exceeding greatness of the revelationsG602, there was givenG1325 to me a thorn for the fleshG4561, a messengerG32 of SatanG4567 that he might buffet me, that I might not be exalted. 8For this I thrice besought the LordG2962 that it might departG868 from me. 9And he saidG3004 to me, My graceG5485 suffices thee; for [my] powerG1411 is perfected in weaknessG769. Most gladlyG2236 thereforeG3767 will I ratherG3123 boastG2744 in my weaknessesG769, that the powerG1411 of the ChristG5547 may dwell upon me. 10Wherefore I take pleasureG2106 in weaknessesG769, in insults, in necessities, in persecutionsG1375, in straits, for ChristG5547: for whenG3752 I amG1510 weakG770, then I amG1510 powerfulG1415. 11I have becomeG1096 a foolG878; ye have compelledG315 me; for I oughtG3784 to have beenG1510 commendedG4921 by you; for I have beenG1510 nothing behind those who wereG1510 in surpassing degree apostlesG652, if alsoG2532 I amG1510 nothing. 12The signsG4592 indeed of the apostleG652 were wrought among you in all enduranceG5281, signsG4592, and wondersG5059, and works of powerG1411. 13For in what isG1510 it that ye have beenG1510 inferior to the otherG3062 assemblies, unless that I myself have not beenG1510 in laziness a charge upon you? ForgiveG5483 me this injury. 14BeholdG2400, this thirdG5154 timeG5154 I am readyG2093 to comeG2064 to you, and I will not be in laziness a charge; for I do not seekG2212 yours, but you; for the childrenG5043 oughtG3784 not to lay up for the parentsG1118, but the parentsG1118 for the childrenG5043. 15NowG1161 I shall mostG5228 gladlyG2236 spendG1159 and be utterly spentG1159 for your soulsG5590, if evenG2532 in abundantly loving you I should be less lovedG25. 16But beG1510 it so. I did not burden you, but beingG1510 crafty I tookG2983 you by guile. 17Did I make gain of you by any of those whom I have sentG649 to you? 18I begged TitusG5103, and sent the brotherG80 with [him]: did TitusG5103 at all make gain of you? have we not walkedG4043 in the sameG846 spiritG4151? [have we] not in the sameG846 stepsG2487? 19Ye have longG3819 been supposing that we excuse ourselves to you: we speakG2980 before 3GodG2316 in ChristG5547; and all thingsG3956, belovedG27, for your buildingG3619 up. 20For I fearG5399 lestG3361 perhaps comingG2064 I findG2147 you not suchG3634 as I wishG2309, and that I be foundG2147 by you suchG3634 as ye do not wishG2309: lestG3361 [there might be] strifes, jealousies, angers, contentions, evil speakings, whisperings, puffings up, disturbances; 21lestG3361 my 4GodG2316 should humbleG5013 me as to you when I comeG2064 againG3825, and that I shall grieve over manyG4183 of those who have sinned beforeG1909, and have not repentedG3340 as to the uncleanness and fornication and licentiousness which they have practised.
