Mark 7

1And there are gatheredG4863 togetherG4863 unto him the PhariseesG5330, and certainG5100 of the scribesG1122, who had comeG2064 from JerusalemG2414, 2and had seenG3708 that some of his disciplesG3101 ateG2068 their breadG740 with defiled, that isG1510, unwashen, handsG5495. 3(For the PhariseesG5330, and all the JewsG2453, except they washG3538 their handsG5495 diligently, eatG2068 not, holdingG2902 the traditionG3862 of the eldersG4245; 4and when they come from the marketplace, except they bathe themselves, they eatG2068 not; and manyG4183 otherG243 thingsG4183 there areG1510, which they have receivedG3880 to holdG2902, washings of cupsG4221, and pots, and brasen vessels.) 5And the PhariseesG5330 and the scribesG1122 askG1905 him, WhyG5101 walkG4043 not thy disciplesG3101 accordingG2596 to the traditionG3862 of the eldersG4245, but eatG2068 their breadG740 with defiled handsG5495? 6And he saidG3004 unto them, WellG2573 did IsaiahG2268 prophesyG4395 of you hypocritesG5273, as it is writtenG1125,

This peopleG2992 honoreth me with their lipsG5491,But their heartG2588 is farG4206 from me.7But in vainG3155 do they worshipG4576 me,TeachingG1321as theirdoctrinesG1319 the preceptsG1778 of menG444.

8Ye leaveG863 the commandmentG1785 of GodG2316, and holdG2902 fastG2902 the traditionG3862 of menG444. 9And he saidG3004 unto them, Full wellG2573 do ye rejectG114 the commandmentG1785 of GodG2316, that ye may keepG5083 your traditionG3862. 10For MosesG3475 saidG3004, HonorG5091 thy fatherG3962 and thy motherG3384; and, He that speaketh evilG2551 of fatherG3962 or motherG3384, let him die the deathG2288: 11but ye sayG3004, If a manG444 shall sayG3004 to his fatherG3962 or his motherG3384, That wherewith thou mightest have beenG1510 profitedG5623 by me isG1510 Corban, that isG1510 to sayG3004, Given to God; 12ye noG3762 longer suffer him to do aught for his fatherG3962 or his motherG3384; 13makingG4160 void the wordG3056 of GodG2316 by your traditionG3862, which ye have deliveredG3860: and manyG4183 suchG5108 like thingsG4183 ye do. 14And he called to him the multitudeG3793 againG3825, and saidG3004 unto them, HearG191 me all of you, and understandG4920: 15there isG1510 nothing from without the manG444, that goingG1607 into him can defileG2840 him; but the thingsG3739 which proceed out of the manG444 areG1510 those that defileG2840 the manG444. 161 17And whenG3753 he was enteredG1525 into the houseG3624 from the multitudeG3793, his disciplesG3101 askedG1905 of him the parableG3850. 18And he saith unto them, AreG1510 ye so without understandingG801 alsoG2532? Perceive ye not, that whatsoever from without goeth into the manG444, it cannot defileG2840 him; 19because it goeth not into his heartG2588, but into his bellyG2836, and goeth out into the draught? This he said, making all meats clean. 20And he saidG3004, That which proceedeth out of the manG444, that defileth the manG444. 21For from within, out of the heartG2588 of menG444, evilG2556 thoughtsG1261 proceed, fornications, theftsG2829, murdersG5408, adulteries, 22covetings, wickednesses, deceitG1388, lasciviousness, an evilG4190 eyeG3788, railing, pride, foolishnessG877: 23all these evilG4190 thingsG3778 proceed from within, and defileG2840 the manG444.

24And from thence he aroseG450, and wentG565 awayG565 into the borders of TyreG5184 and Sidon. And he enteredG1525 into a houseG3614, and would have no man knowG1097 it; and he could not be hid. 25But straightway a womanG1135, whose littleG2365 daughterG2365 had an uncleanG169 spiritG4151, having heardG191 of him, cameG2064 and fell downG4363 at his feetG4228. 26NowG1161 the womanG1135 wasG1510 a Greek, a Syrophoenician by raceG1085. And she besought him that he would castG1544 forth the demonG1140 out of her daughterG2364. 27And he saidG3004 unto her, Let the childrenG5043 firstG4413 beG1510 filledG5526: for it isG1510 not meet to takeG2983 the children’sG5043 breadG740 and castG906 it to the dogsG2952. 28But she answeredG611 and saith unto him, Yea, LordG2962; evenG2532 the dogsG2952 under the tableG5132 eatG2068 of the children’sG3813 crumbsG5589. 29And he saidG3004 unto her, For this sayingG3004 goG5217 thy way; the demonG1140 is goneG1831 out of thy daughterG2364. 30And she wentG1831 awayG565 unto her houseG3624, and foundG2147 the childG3813 laid upon the bedG2825, and the demonG1140 goneG1831 out.

31And againG3825 he wentG1831 out from the borders of TyreG5184, and cameG2064 through SidonG4605 unto the seaG2281 of GalileeG1056, through the midstG3319 of the borders of DecapolisG1179. 32And they bringG5342 unto him oneG3588 that was deafG2974, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to lay his handG5495 upon him. 33And he took him aside from the multitudeG3793 privately, and putG906 his fingersG1147 into his earsG3775, and he spatG4429, and touchedG681 his tongueG1100; 34and lookingG308 up to heavenG3772, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that isG1510, BeG1510 openedG1272. 35And his earsG189 were openedG455, and the bond of his tongueG1100 was loosedG3089, and he spake plain. 36And he charged them that they should tellG3004 no man: but the moreG3123 he charged them, soG2443 muchG3745 the moreG3123 a great deal they published it. 37And they were beyond measure astonishedG1605, sayingG3004, He hath done all thingsG3956 wellG2573; he maketh evenG2532 the deafG2974 to hearG191, and the dumb to speakG2980.
