Mark 15
1And straightway in the morningG4404 the chiefG749 priestsG749 with the eldersG4245 and scribesG1122, and the wholeG3650 councilG4892, held a consultation, and boundG1210 JesusG2424, and carried him awayG667, and deliveredG3860 him up to PilateG4091. 2And PilateG4091 askedG1905 him, Art thou the KingG935 of the JewsG2453? And he answeringG611 saith unto him, Thou sayest. 3And the chiefG749 priestsG749 accusedG2723 him of manyG4183 thingsG4183. 4And PilateG4091 againG3825 askedG1905 him, sayingG3004, Answerest thou nothing? beholdG2396 howG4214 manyG4214 things they accuseG2723 thee of. 5But JesusG2424 no more answeredG611 anything; insomuch that PilateG4091 marvelled.
6NowG1161 at the feastG1859 he used to releaseG630 unto them oneG1520 prisonerG1198, whom they asked of him. 7And there wasG1510 oneG3588 called BarabbasG912, lying boundG1210 with them that had madeG4160 insurrectionG4714, men who in the insurrectionG4714 had committed murderG5408. 8And the multitudeG3793 wentG305 up and beganG757 to askG154 him to do as he was wont to do unto them. 9And PilateG4091 answeredG611 them, sayingG3004, WillG2309 ye that I releaseG630 unto you the KingG935 of the JewsG2453? 10For he perceived that for envyG5355 the chiefG749 priestsG749 had deliveredG3860 him up. 11But the chiefG749 priestsG749 stirred up the multitudeG3793, that he should ratherG3123 releaseG630 BarabbasG912 unto them. 12And PilateG4091 againG3825 answeredG611 and saidG3004 unto them, What thenG3767 shall I do unto him whom ye call the KingG935 of the JewsG2453? 13And they criedG2896 out againG3825, CrucifyG4717 him. 14And PilateG4091 saidG3004 unto them, WhyG5101, what evilG2556 hath he done? But they criedG2896 out exceedingly, CrucifyG4717 him. 15And PilateG4091, wishing to content the multitudeG3793, releasedG630 unto them BarabbasG912, and deliveredG3860 JesusG2424, when he had scourged him, to be crucifiedG4717.
16And the soldiersG4757 ledG520 him awayG520 within the courtG833, which isG1510 the Prætorium; and they call togetherG4779 the wholeG3650 band. 17And they clothe him with purpleG4209, and platting a crownG4735 of thorns, they putG4060 it on him; 18and they beganG757 to salute him, HailG5463, KingG935 of the JewsG2453! 19And they smote his headG2776 with a reedG2563, and spat upon him, and bowing their kneesG1119 worshipped him. 20And whenG3753 they had mockedG1702 him, they took off from him the purpleG4209, and putG1746 on him his garmentsG2440. And they lead him out to crucifyG4717 him.
21And they compel oneG5100 passing by, SimonG4613 of CyreneG2956, comingG2064 from the countryG68, the fatherG3962 of AlexanderG223 and RufusG4504, to go with them, that he might bearG142 his crossG4716.
22And they bringG5342 him unto the placeG5117 GolgothaG1115, which isG1510, beingG1510 interpreted, The placeG5117 of a skullG2898. 23And they offered him wineG3631 mingled with myrrh: but he receivedG2983 it not. 24And they crucifyG4717 him, and part his garmentsG2440 among them, castingG906 lotsG2819 upon them, what each should takeG142. 25And it wasG1510 the thirdG5154 hourG5610, and they crucifiedG4717 him. 26And the superscription of his accusation wasG1510 written over, THE KINGG935 OF THE JEWSG2453. 27And with him they crucifyG4717 twoG1417 robbersG3027; oneG1520 on his rightG1188 handG1188, and oneG1520 on his left. 281 29And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their headsG2776, and sayingG3004, Ha! thou that destroyest the templeG3485, and buildest it in threeG5140 daysG2250, 30saveG4982 thyself, and comeG2597 down from the crossG4716. 31In like manner alsoG2532 the chiefG749 priestsG749 mockingG1702 him among themselves with the scribesG1122 saidG3004, He savedG4982 othersG243; himself he cannot saveG4982. 32Let the ChristG5547, the KingG935 of IsraelG2474, nowG3568 comeG2597 down from the crossG4716, that we may seeG3708 and believeG4100. And they that were crucified with him reproached him.
33And when the sixthG1623 hourG5610 was comeG1096, there was darknessG4655 over the wholeG3650 landG1093 until the ninth hourG5610. 34And at the ninth hourG5610 JesusG2424 criedG994 with a loudG3173 voiceG5456, EloiG1682, EloiG1682, lama sabachthaniG4518? which isG1510, beingG1510 interpreted, My GodG2316, my GodG2316, whyG5101 hast thou forsakenG1459 me? 35And some of them that stoodG3936 by, when they heardG191 it, saidG3004, BeholdG2396, he calleth ElijahG2243. 36And oneG5100 ranG5143, and fillingG1072 a spongeG4699 full of vinegar, putG4060 it on a reedG2563, and gaveG4222 him to drinkG4222, sayingG3004, Let be; let us seeG3708 whether ElijahG2243 cometh to take him downG2507. 37And JesusG2424 uttered a loudG3173 voiceG5456, and gave up the ghost. 38And the veilG2665 of the templeG3485 was rent in twoG1417 from the topG509 to the bottomG2736. 39And when the centurionG2760, who stoodG3936 by over against him, sawG3708 that he soG3779 gave up the ghost, he saidG3004, TrulyG230 this manG444 wasG1510 the SonG5207 of GodG2316. 40And there wereG1510 alsoG2532 womenG1135 beholding from afar: among whom wereG1510 both MaryG3137 MagdaleneG3094, and MaryG3137 the motherG3384 of JamesG2385 the less and of JosesG2500, and SalomeG4539; 41who, whenG3753 he wasG1510 in GalileeG1056, followedG190 him, and ministeredG1247 unto him; and manyG4183 otherG243 women that cameG4872 up with him unto JerusalemG2414.
42And when evenG2532 wasG1510 now comeG1096, because it wasG1510 the PreparationG3904, that isG1510, the day before the sabbath, 43there cameG2064 JosephG2501 of Arimathæa, a councillor of honorable estate, who alsoG2532 himself wasG1510 looking for the kingdomG932 of GodG2316; and he boldly went in unto PilateG4091, and askedG154 for the bodyG4983 of JesusG2424. 44And PilateG4091 marvelled if he were alreadyG2235 deadG599: and callingG4341 unto him the centurionG2760, he askedG1905 him whether he had been any while deadG599. 45And when he learned it of the centurionG2760, he granted the corpse to JosephG2501. 46And he boughtG59 a linenG4616 clothG4616, and taking him downG5087, wound him in the linenG4616 clothG4616, and laidG5087 him in a tombG3419 which had beenG1510 hewn out of a rockG4073; and he rolledG4351 a stoneG3037 against the doorG2374 of the tombG3419. 47And MaryG3137 MagdaleneG3094 and MaryG3137 the mother of JosesG2500 beheld whereG4226 he was laidG5087.
