43And immediatelyG2117,while He was stillἔτιetiG2089speakingλαλοῦντοςlalountosG2980,JudasἸούδας,IoudasG2455,oneεἷςheisG1520of the twelveδώδεκα,dōdekaG1427,cameπαραγίνεταιparaginetaiG3854up,accompaniedG3326 G846by a crowdὄχλοςochlosG3793with swordsμαχαιρῶνmachairōnG3162and clubsξύλωνxulōnG3586who werefrom the chiefἀρχιερέωνarchiereōnG749priestsG749,the scribesγραμματέωνgrammateōnG1122,and the eldersπρεσβυτέρων.presbuterōnG4245.

44NowδὲdeG1161he who was betrayingπαραδιδοὺςparadidousG3860Him had givenδεδώκειdedōkeiG1325them a signalσύσσημονsussēmonG4953,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “Whomeverὃν ἂνhon anG3739 G302I kissφιλήσω,philēsōG5368,He is the one; arrestκρατήσατεkratēsateG2902Him and leadG520Him awayG520underG806guardG806.”

45And after comingἐλθὼνelthōnG2064,Judas immediatelyG2117wentπροσελθὼνproselthōnG4334to Him and saidλέγειlegeiG3004, “RabbiῥαββίrhabbiG4461!”and kissedκατεφίλησενkatephilēsenG2705Him.

46And they laidG1911handsχεῖραςcheirasG5495onG1911Him and arrestedἐκράτησανekratēsanG2902Him.

47But oneεἷςheisG1520of thoseG3588who stoodπαρεστηκότωνparestēkotōnG3936by drewσπασάμενοςspasamenosG4685his swordμάχαιρανmachairanG3162,and struckἔπαισενepaisenG3817the slaveδοῦλονdoulonG1401of the highἀρχιερέωςarchiereōsG749priestG749andcutἀφεῖλενapheilenG851offG851his earG5621.

48And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004to them,“Have you comeἐξήλθατεexēlthateG1831outG1831with swordsμαχαιρῶνmachairōnG3162and clubsξύλωνxulōnG3586to arrestσυλλαβεῖνsullabeinG4815Me, as you wouldagainstἐπὶepiG1909a manG3027incitingG3027aG3027revoltG3027?

49Everyκαθ᾽kath᾽G2596dayἡμέρανhēmeranG2250I was with youwithinἐνenG1722the templeG2413groundsteachingδιδάσκων,didaskōnG1321,and you did not arrestἐκρατήσατέekratēsateG2902Me; but this has taken placesoG2443thatG2443the Scripturesγραφαί.graphaiG1124will be fulfilledπληρωθῶσινplērōthōsinG4137.”

50AndHis disciples allπάντες.pantesG3956leftἀφέντεςaphentesG863Him and fledἔφυγονephugonG5343.

51A youngνεανίσκοςneaniskosG3495manG3495was followingσυνηκολούθειsunēkoloutheiG4870Him, wearingπεριβεβλημένοςperibeblēmenosG4016nothing buta linenσινδόναsindonaG4616sheetG4616overἐπὶepiG1909hisnakedγυμνοῦ,gumnouG1131body;and they seizedκρατοῦσινkratousinG2902him.

52But hepulledG2641freeG2641of the linenσινδόναsindonaG4616sheetG4616and escapedἔφυγενephugenG5343nakedγυμνὸςgumnosG1131.

53They ledG520JesusἸησοῦνIēsounG2424awayἀπήγαγονapēgagonG520to the highἀρχιερέαarchiereaG749priestG749;and allπάντεςpantesG3956the chiefἀρχιερεῖςarchiereisG749priestsG749,the eldersπρεσβύτεροιpresbuteroiG4245,and the scribesγραμματεῖς.grammateisG1122gatheredG4905togetherσυνέρχονταιsunerchontaiG4905.

54And PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074had followedἠκολούθησενēkolouthēsenG190Him at a distanceμακρόθενmakrothenG3113,rightἕωςhe'ōsG2193intothe courtyardαὐλὴνaulēnG833of the highἀρχιερέωςarchiereōsG749priestG749;and he was sittingσυγκαθήμενοςsugkathēmenosG4775with theofficersὑπηρετῶνhupēretōnG5257andwarmingθερμαινόμενοςthermainomenosG2328himself at thefireφῶς.¶phōsG5457.

55NowδὲdeG1161the chiefἀρχιερεῖςarchiereisG749priestsG749and the entireὅλονholonG3650CouncilσυνέδριονsunedrionG4892were tryingG2212toG2212obtainG2212testimonyμαρτυρίανmarturianG3141againstκατὰkataG2596JesusἸησοῦIēsouG2424to putθανατῶσαιthanatōsaiG2289Him toG2289deathG2289,and they were not findingηὕρισκον.hēuriskonG2147any.

56For manyπολλοὶpolloiG4183peopleG4183were givingG5576falseἐψευδομαρτύρουνepseudomarturounG5576testimonyG5576againstκατ᾽kat᾽G2596Him, and sotheir testimoniesμαρτυρίαιmarturiaiG3141were not consistentἴσαιisaiG2470.

57And thensomeτινεςtinesG5100stoodG450upG450and begangivingG5576falseἐψευδομαρτύρουνepseudomarturounG5576testimonyG5576againstκατ᾽kat᾽G2596Him, sayingλέγοντεςlegontesG3004,

58“We heardἠκούσαμενēkousamenG191Him sayλέγοντοςlegontosG3004, ‘I will destroyκαταλύσωkatalusōG2647thisτοῦτονtoutonG3778templeναὸνnaonG3485that was madeχειροποίητονcheiropoiētonG5499byG5499handsG5499,and in threeτριῶνtriōnG5140daysἡμερῶνhēmerōnG2250I will buildοἰκοδομήσω.oikodomēsōG3618anotherἄλλονallonG243,madeG886withoutG886handsἀχειροποίητονacheiropoiētonG886.’”

59And not evenοὐδὲoudeG3761inG3779thisG3779respectG3779was their testimonyμαρτυρίαmarturiaG3141consistentἴσηisēG2470.

60And thenthe highἀρχιερεὺςarchiereusG749priestG749stoodG450upG450and cameforwardεἰς μέσονeis mesonG1519 G3319and questionedἐπηρώτησενepērōtēsenG1905JesusἸησοῦνIēsounG2424,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “Do You not offerG611anyοὐδὲνoudenG3762answerἀποκρίνῃapokrinēG611for whatτίtiG5101theseG3778menG3778are testifyingG2649againstG2649You?”

61But He keptG4623silentἐσιώπαesiōpaG4623and did not offerG611anyοὐδέν.oudenG3762answerἀπεκρίνατοapekrinatoG611.AgainπάλινpalinG3825the highἀρχιερεὺςarchiereusG749priestG749was questioningἐπηρώταepērōtaG1905Him, and saidλέγειlegeiG3004to Him, “Are You theChristχριστὸςchristosG5547,the SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207ofthe Blessedεὐλογητοῦ;eulogētouG2128One?”

62And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004,“I amεἰμι,eimiG1510;and you shall seeG3708the SonυἱὸνhuionG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444sittingκαθήμενονkathēmenonG2521at the rightδεξιῶνdexiōnG1188handG1188of powerδυνάμεωςdunameōsG1411, andcomingἐρχόμενονerchomenonG2064with the cloudsνεφελῶνnephelōnG3507of heavenοὐρανοῦ.ouranouG3772.”

63TearingδιαρρήξαςdiarrēxasG1284his clothesχιτῶναςchitōnasG5509,the highἀρχιερεὺςarchiereusG749priestG749saidλέγει·legeiG3004, “WhatτίtiG5101furtherἔτιetiG2089needχρείανchreianG5532do we haveἔχομενechomenG2192of witnessesμαρτύρων;marturōnG3144?

64You have heardἠκούσατεēkousateG191theblasphemyβλασφημίας·blasphēmiasG988;howτίtiG5101does it seemφαίνεται;phainetaiG5316to you?” And they allπάντεςpantesG3956condemnedκατέκρινανkatekrinanG2632Him as deservingἔνοχονenochonG1777of deathθανάτου.thanatouG2288.

65And someτινεςtinesG5100beganἤρξαντόērxantoG757tospitἐμπτύεινemptueinG1716on Him, andto blindfoldπερικαλύπτειν πρόσωπονperikaluptein prosōponG4028 G4383Him, and to beatG2852Him withG2852their fistsG2852and sayλέγεινlegeinG3004to Him, “Prophesyπροφήτευσον,prophēteusonG4395!”Then the officersὑπηρέταιhupēretaiG5257tookG2983custodyG2983of Himand slappedῥαπίσμασινrhapismasinG4475Him in the face.
