Luke 10:18-42
18And He saidG3004 to them, “I was watchingG2334 1SatanG4567 fallG4098 from heavenG3772 likeG5613 lightningG796. 19BeholdG2400, I have givenG1325 you authorityG1849 to 2treadG3961 on serpentsG3789 and scorpionsG4651, and overG1909 allG3956 the powerG1411 of the enemyG2190, and nothingG3762 will injureG91 you. 20NeverthelessG4133 do not rejoiceG5463 in thisG3778, that the spiritsG4151 are subjectG5293 to you, but rejoiceG5463 that 3your namesG3686 are recordedG1449 in heavenG3772.”
214At that veryG846 5timeG5610 He rejoicedG21 greatlyG21 in the HolyG40 SpiritG4151, and saidG3004, “I 6praiseG1843 You, O FatherG3962, LordG2962 of heavenG3772 and earthG1093, that You have hiddenG613 theseG3778 thingsG3778 from the wiseG4680 and intelligentG4908 and have revealedG601 them to infantsG3516. YesG3483, FatherG3962, for thisG3779 wayG3779 was well-pleasingG2107 in Your sightG1715. 227AllG3956 thingsG3956 have been handedG3860 overG3860 to Me by My FatherG3962, and 8noG3762 oneG3762 knowsG1097 whoG5101 the SonG5207 is exceptG1508 the FatherG3962, and whoG5101 the FatherG3962 is exceptG1508 the SonG5207, and anyone to whomG3739 the SonG5207 willsG1014 to revealG601 Him.”
239TurningG4762 to the disciplesG3101, He saidG3004 privatelyG2596G2398, “BlessedG3107 are the eyesG3788 which seeG991 the things you seeG991, 24for I sayG3004 to you, that manyG4183 prophetsG4396 and kingsG935 wishedG2309 to seeG3708 the things whichG3739 you seeG991, and did not seeG3708 them, and to hearG191 the things whichG3739 you hearG191, and did not hearG191 them.”
2510And a 1112lawyerG3544 stoodG450 up and putG1598 Him to the testG1598, sayingG3004, “TeacherG1320, whatG5101 shall I doG4160 to inheritG2816 eternalG166 lifeG2222?” 26And He saidG3004 to him, “WhatG5101 is writtenG1125 in the LawG3551? 13HowG4459 does it readG314 to you?” 27And he answeredG611, “14You shall loveG25 the LordG2962 your GodG2316 with allG3650 your heartG2588, and with allG3650 your soulG5590, and with allG3650 your strengthG2479, and with allG3650 your mindG1271; and your neighborG4139 as yourselfG4572.” 28And He saidG3004 to him, “You have answeredG611 correctlyG3723; 15doG4160 thisG3778 and you will liveG2198.” 29But wishingG2309 16to justifyG1344 himselfG1438, he saidG3004 to JesusG2424, “And whoG5101 is my neighborG4139?” 30JesusG2424 repliedG5274 and saidG3004, “A manG444 was 17goingG2597 downG2597 from JerusalemG2419 to JerichoG2410, and fellG4045 amongG4045 robbersG3027, and they strippedG1562 him and 18beatG2007G4127 him, and wentG565 awayG565 leavingG863 him halfG2253 deadG2253. 31And by chanceG4795 a priestG2409 was goingG2597 downG2597 on that roadG3598, and when he sawG3708 him, he passedG492 by on the otherG492 sideG492. 32LikewiseG3668 a LeviteG3019 alsoG2532, when he cameG2064 to the placeG5117 and sawG3708 him, passedG492 by on the otherG492 sideG492. 33But a 19SamaritanG4541, who was on a journeyG3593, cameG2064 upon him; and when he sawG3708 him, he feltG4697 compassionG4697, 34and cameG4334 to him and bandagedG2611 up his woundsG5134, pouringG2022 oilG1637 and wineG3631 on them; and he putG1913 him on his ownG2398 beastG2934, and broughtG71 him to an innG3829 and tookG1959 careG1959 of him. 35On the nextG839 dayG839 he tookG1544 out twoG1417 20denariiG1220 and gaveG1325 them to the innkeeperG3830 and saidG3004, ‘TakeG1959 careG1959 of him; and whateverG3739G5100G302 moreG4325 you spendG4325, whenG1722 I returnG1880 I will repayG591 you.’ 36WhichG5101 of theseG3778 threeG5140 do you thinkG1380 provedG1096 to be a neighborG4139 to the man who fellG1706 into the robbers’G3027 hands?” 37And he saidG3004, “The one who showedG4160 mercyG1656 towardG3326 him.” ThenG1161 JesusG2424 saidG3004 to him, “GoG4198 and doG4160 21the sameG3668.”
38NowG1161 as they were travelingG4198 along, He enteredG1525 a villageG2968; and a womanG1135 namedG3686 22MarthaG3136 welcomedG5264 Him into her homeG3614. 39She hadG1510 a sisterG79 calledG2564 23MaryG3137, whoG3739 was 24seatedG3869 at the Lord’sG2962 feetG4228, listeningG191 to His wordG3056. 40But 25MarthaG3136 was distractedG4049 with 26allG4183 her preparationsG1248; and she cameG2186 up to Him and saidG3004, “LordG2962, do You not careG3199 that my sisterG79 has leftG2641 me to doG1247 all the servingG1247 aloneG3441? ThenG3767 tellG3004 her to helpG4878 me.” 41But the LordG2962 answeredG611 and saidG3004 to her, “27MarthaG3136, MarthaG3136, you are 28worriedG3309 and botheredG2350 aboutG4012 so manyG4183 thingsG4183; 4229but only oneG1520 thingG1520 is necessaryG5532, for 30MaryG3137 has chosenG1586 the goodG18 partG3310, whichG3748 shall not be takenG851 awayG851 from her.”
