31ThenΤότεToteG5119JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them,“You will allπάντεςpantesG3956fallσκανδαλισθήσεσθεskandalisthēsestheG4624awayG4624becauseG1722of Me thisταύτῃ·tautēG3778nightνυκτὶnuktiG3571,for it is writtenγέγραπταιgegraptaiG1125: ‘I will strikeπατάξωpataxōG3960the shepherdποιμένα,poimenaG4166,and the sheepπρόβαταprobataG4263of the flockποίμνης.poimnēsG4167will bescatteredδιασκορπισθήσονταιdiaskorpisthēsontaiG1287.’

32But afterμετὰmetaG3326I have been raisedἐγερθῆναίegerthēnaiG1453,I will goπροάξωproaxōG4254aheadG4254of you to GalileeΓαλιλαίαν.¶GalilaianG1056.”

33But PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074repliedἈποκριθεὶςApokritheisG611 G3004to Him, “EvenifεἰeiG1487they allπάντεςpantesG3956fallσκανδαλισθήσονταιskandalisthēsontaiG4624awayσκανδαλισθήσομαι.¶skandalisthēsomaiG4624becauseἐνenG1722of You, I will neverοὐδέποτεoudepoteG3763fallG4624awayG4624!”

34JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidἜφηEphēG5346to him, “TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you thatthisταύτῃtautēG3778verynightνυκτὶnuktiG3571,beforeπρὶνprinG4250a roosterἀλέκτοραalektoraG220crowsφωνῆσαιphōnēsaiG5455,you will denyἀπαρνήσῃaparnēsēG533Me threeG5151timesG5151.”

35PeterΠέτρος·PetrosG4074saidΛέγειLegeiG3004to Him, “EvenG2579ifG2579I haveδέῃdeēG1163to dieἀποθανεῖν,apothaneinG599with You, I will not denyἀπαρνήσομαι.aparnēsomaiG533You!” AllπάντεςpantesG3956the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101saidG3004the sameG3668thingG3668asκἂνkaneanG2532wellκαὶkaiG2532.

37And He tookπαραλαβὼνparalabōnG3880PeterΠέτρονPetronG4074and the twoδύοduoG1417sonsυἱοὺςhuiousG5207of ZebedeeΖεβεδαίουZebedaiouG2199with Him, and beganἤρξατοērxatoG757to be grievedλυπεῖσθαιlupeisthaiG3076and distressedἀδημονεῖν.¶adēmoneinG85.

38ThenΤότεToteG5119He saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them, “My soulψυχήpsuchēG5590is deeplyG4036grievedG4036,toG2193theG2193pointG2193of deathθανάτου·thanatouG2288;remainμείνατεmeinateG3306hereὧδεhōdeG5602andkeepG1127watchγρηγορεῖτεgrēgoreiteG1127with Me.”

39And He wentG4281a littleμικρὸνmikronG3398beyondG4281them,and fellἔπεσενepesenG4098on His faceπρόσωπονprosōponG4383and prayedπροσευχόμενοςproseuchomenosG4336,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004,“My FatherπάτερpaterG3962,ifεἰeiG1487it is possibleδυνατόνdunatonG1415, letthisτοῦτο·toutoG3778cupποτήριονpotērionG4221passπαρελθάτωparelthatōG3928from Me;yetπλὴνplēnG4133not as I willθέλωthelōG2309, but as You will.”

40And He cameἔρχεταιerchetaiG2064to the disciplesμαθητὰςmathētasG3101and foundεὑρίσκειheuriskeiG2147them sleepingκαθεύδονταςkatheudontasG2518,and He saidλέγειlegeiG3004to PeterΠέτρῳ·PetrōG4074,“SoοὕτωςhoutōsG3779, you mencouldἰσχύσατεischusateG2480notkeepG1127watchγρηγορῆσαιgrēgorēsaiG1127with Me for oneμίανmianG1520hourὥρανhōranG5610?

41KeepG1127watchingγρηγορεῖτεgrēgoreiteG1127and prayingπροσεύχεσθεproseuchestheG4336,soG2443thatG2443you do not comeG1525intoG1525temptationπειρασμόν.peirasmonG3986;the spiritπνεῦμαpneumaG4151iswillingπρόθυμονprothumonG4289,but the fleshσὰρξsarxG4561is weakἀσθενής.¶asthenēsG772.”

42He wentG565awayἀπελθὼνapelthōnG565againΠάλινPalinG3825a secondδευτέρουdeuterouG1208timeG1208and prayedπροσηύξατοprosēuxatoG4336,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004,“My FatherπάτερpaterG3962,ifεἰeiG1487thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778cupcannotοὐ δύναταιou dunataiG1410 G3756passπαρελθεῖνpareltheinG3928awayG3928unlessἐὰν μὴean mēG1437 G3361I drinkπίω,piōG4095from it,Your willθέλημάthelēmaG2307be doneγενηθήτωgenēthētōG1096.”

43AgainπάλινpalinG3825He cameἐλθὼνelthōnG2064and foundεὗρενheurenG2147them sleepingκαθεύδοντας·katheudontasG2518,for their eyesὀφθαλμοὶophthalmoiG3788were heavyβεβαρημένοι.¶bebarēmenoiG916.

44And He leftἀφεὶςapheisG863them againG3825,and wentG565awayἀπελθὼνapelthōnG565and prayedπροσηύξατοprosēuxatoG4336a thirdτρίτουtritouG5154timeG5154,sayingG3004the sameG846thingλόγονlogonG3056onceG3825moreG3825.

46GetG1453upG1453,let’s goἄγωμεν·agōmenG71;beholdἰδοὺidouG2400,the one who is betrayingπαραδιδούςparadidousG3860Me is nearἤγγικενēngikenG1448!”
