Acts 2:21-47
21And it shall be that 1everyoneG3956 whoG3739 callsG1941 on the nameG3686 of the LordG2962 will be savedG4982.’
22“MenG435 of IsraelG2475, listenG191 to theseG3778 wordsG3056: 2JesusG2424 the NazareneG3480, 3a manG435 4attestedG584 to you by GodG2316 with 5miraclesG1411 and 6wondersG5059 and 7signsG4592 whichG3739 GodG2316 performedG4160 throughG1223 Him in your midstG3319, justG2531 as you yourselvesG846 knowG3609-- 23thisG3778 Man, deliveredG1560 over by the 8predeterminedG3724 planG1012 and foreknowledgeG4268 of GodG2316, 9you nailedG4362 to a crossG4362 by the handsG5495 of 10godlessG459 menG459 and putG337 Him to deathG337. 2411But 12GodG2316 raisedG450 Him up againG450, puttingG3089 an endG3089 to the 13agonyG5604 of deathG2288, sinceG2530 it 14was impossibleG3756G1415 for Him to be heldG2902 15in its powerG5259. 25For DavidG1160 saysG3004 of Him, ‘16I sawG4308 the LordG2962 alwaysG1223G3956 in my presenceG1799; For He is at my rightG1188 handG1188, soG2443 that I will not be shakenG4531.26ThereforeG1223G3778 my heartG2588 was gladG2165 and my tongueG1100 exultedG21; MoreoverG2089G1161 my fleshG4561 alsoG2532 will liveG2681 in hopeG1680;27BecauseG3754 You will not abandonG1459 my soulG5590 to 17HadesG86, 18NorG3761 19allowG1325 Your 20HolyG3741 OneG3741 to 21undergoG3708 decayG1312.28You have madeG1107 knownG1107 to me the waysG3598 of lifeG2222; You will makeG4137 me fullG4137 of gladnessG2167 with Your presenceG4383.’
29“22BrethrenG435G80, I mayG1832 confidentlyG3954 sayG3004 to you regardingG4012 the 23patriarchG3966 DavidG1160 that he bothG2532 24diedG5053 and 25was buriedG2290, and 26his tombG3418 is 27with us to thisG3778 dayG2250. 30And soG3767, because he was 28a prophetG4396 and knewG3609 that 29GodG2316 had swornG3660 to him with an oathG3727 to seatG2523 one 30of his descendantsG2590G3751 on his throneG2362, 31he lookedG4275 aheadG4275 and spokeG2980 of the resurrectionG386 of 31the ChristG5547, that 32He was neitherG3777 abandonedG1459 to HadesG86, norG3777 did His fleshG4561 33sufferG3708 decayG1312. 32ThisG3778 JesusG2424 34GodG2316 raisedG450 up againG450, to whichG3739 we are allG3956 35witnessesG3144. 33ThereforeG3767 having been exaltedG5312 3637to the rightG1188 handG1188 of GodG2316, and 38having receivedG2983 from the FatherG3962 39the promiseG1860 of the HolyG40 SpiritG4151, He has 40pouredG1632 forthG1632 thisG3778 whichG3739 you bothG2532 seeG991 and hearG191. 34For it was not DavidG1160 who ascendedG305 into 41heavenG3772, but he himselfG846 saysG3004: ‘42The LordG2962 saidG3004 to my LordG2962, “SitG2521 at My rightG1188 handG1188,35UntilG2193 I makeG5087 Your enemiesG2190 a footstoolG5286 for Your feetG4228.”’ 36ThereforeG3767 let allG3956 the 43houseG3624 of IsraelG2274 knowG1097 for certainG806 that GodG2316 has madeG4160 Him bothG2532 44LordG2962 and 45ChristG5547--thisG3778 JesusG2424 46whomG3739 you crucifiedG4717.”
37NowG1161 when they heardG191 this, they were 47piercedG2660 to the heartG2588, and saidG3004 to PeterG4074 and the restG3062 of the apostlesG652, “48BrethrenG435G80, 4950whatG5101 shall we doG4160?” 38PeterG4074 said to them, “51RepentG3340, and eachG1538 of you be 52baptizedG907 in the nameG3686 of JesusG2424 ChristG5547 for the forgivenessG859 of your sinsG266; and you will receiveG2983 the giftG1431 of the HolyG40 SpiritG4151. 39For 53the promiseG1860 is for you and your childrenG5043 and for allG3956 whoG3588 are 54farG3112 offG3112, as manyG3745 as the LordG2962 our GodG2316 will callG4341 to Himself.” 40And with manyG4183 otherG2087 wordsG3056 he solemnlyG1263 55testifiedG1263 and kept on exhortingG3870 them, sayingG3004, “56Be savedG4982 from thisG3778 57perverseG4646 generationG1074!” 41SoG3767 thenG3767, thoseG3588 who had receivedG588 his wordG3056 were baptizedG907; and that dayG2250 there were addedG4369 aboutG5616 threeG5153 thousandG5153 5859soulsG5590. 42They were 60continuallyG4342 devotingG4342 themselvesG4342 to the apostles’G652 teachingG1322 and to fellowshipG2842, to 61the breakingG2800 of breadG740 and 6263to prayerG4335.
4364EveryoneG3956 kept feelingG1096 a senseG5401 of aweG5401; and manyG4183 65wondersG5059 and 66signsG4592 were takingG1096 placeG1096 throughG1223 the apostlesG652. 44And allG3956 thoseG3588 who had believedG4100 67were togetherG1909G3588G846 and 68hadG2192 allG537 thingsG537 in commonG2839; 45and they 69began sellingG4097 their propertyG2933 and possessionsG5223 and were sharingG1266 them with allG3956, as anyoneG5100 might haveG2192 needG5532. 4670DayG2250 by dayG2250 continuingG4342 with oneG3661 mindG3661 in the templeG2413, and 71breakingG2806 breadG740 72from houseG3624 to houseG3624, they were takingG3335 their 73mealsG5160 togetherG3335 with gladnessG20 and 74sincerityG858 of heartG2588, 47praisingG134 GodG2316 and 75havingG2192 favorG5485 with allG3650 the peopleG2992. And the LordG2962 76was addingG4369 77to their numberG846 dayG2250 by dayG2250 78thoseG3588 who were being savedG4982.
