1The wordH1697 that cameH1961 to JeremiahH3414 from the LORDH3068 in the tenthH6224 yearH8141 of ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, whichH834 was the eighteenthH6240 yearH8141 of NebuchadrezzarH5019. 2NowH1961 at that time the kingH4428 of Babylon’sH894 armyH2428 besieged JerusalemH3389: and JeremiahH3414 the prophetH5030 was shutH3607 upH5921 in the courtH2691 of the guardH4307, whichH834 was in the kingH4428 of Judah’sH3063 houseH1004. 3For ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 had shutH3607 him upH5414, sayingH559, Wherefore dost thou prophesyH5012, and sayH559, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, BeholdH2005, I will giveH5414 this cityH5892 intoH3027 the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and he shall takeH3920 it; 4and ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 shall notH3808 escapeH4422 outH7200 of the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778, but shall surelyH3588 be deliveredH5414 intoH3027 the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and shall speakH1696 with him mouthH6310 to mouthH6310, and his eyesH5869 shall beholdH7200 his eyesH5869; 5and he shall lead ZedekiahH6667 to BabylonH894, and there shall he be untilH5704 I visitH6485 him, saith the LORDH3068: thoughH3588 ye fightH3898 with the ChaldeansH3778, ye shall notH3808 prosperH6743? 6And JeremiahH3414 saidH559, The wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 unto meH413, sayingH559, 7BeholdH2009, HanamelH2601 the sonH1121 of ShallumH7967 thine uncleH1730 shall comeH935 unto thee, sayingH559, BuyH7069 thee my fieldH7704 that is in AnathothH6068: for the rightH4941 of redemptionH1353 is thine to buyH7069 it. 8SoH834 HanamelH2601 mine uncle’sH1730 sonH1121 cameH935 to meH413 in the courtH2691 of the guardH4307 accordingH4941 to the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, and saidH559 unto meH413, BuyH7069 my fieldH7704, I prayH4994 thee, that is in AnathothH6068, whichH834 is in the landH776 of BenjaminH1144: for the rightH4941 of inheritanceH3425 is thine, and the redemptionH1353 is thine; buyH7069 it for thyself. 28Therefore thusH3541 saith the LORDH3068: BeholdH2005, I will giveH5414 this cityH5892 intoH3027 the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778, and intoH3027 the handH3027 of NebuchadrezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and he shall takeH3920 it: 29and the ChaldeansH3778, that fightH3898 againstH5921 this cityH5892, shall comeH935 and setH3341 this cityH5892 on fireH784, and burnH8313 it, with the housesH1004, uponH5921 whoseH834 roofsH1406 they have offeredH6999 incenseH6999 unto BaalH1168, and poured outH5921 drink offerings unto otherH312 godsH430, to provokeH3707 meH5921 to angerH3707. 30For the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 and the childrenH1121 of JudahH3063 have onlyH389 doneH6213 that whichH5869 was evilH7451 in my sightH5869 from their youthH5271: for the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 have onlyH389 provokedH3707 meH3707 to angerH3707 with the workH4639 of their handsH3027, saith the LORDH3068. 31For this cityH5892 hath been to meH6440 a provocation of mineH4480 angerH639 and of my furyH2534 from the dayH3117 that they builtH1129 it evenH5704 unto this dayH3117; that I should removeH5493 it from beforeH6440 my faceH6440: 32becauseH5921 of allH3605 the evilH7451 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 and of the childrenH1121 of JudahH3063, whichH834 they have doneH6213 to provokeH3707 meH5921 to angerH3707, they, their kingsH4428, their princesH8269, their priestsH3548, and their prophetsH5030, and the menH376 of JudahH3063, and the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389. 33And they have turnedH6437 unto meH413 the backH6437, and notH3808 the faceH6440: and thoughH369 I taughtH3925 them, risingH7925 upH7925 earlyH7925 and teachingH3925 them, yet they have notH3808 hearkened to receiveH3947 instructionH4148. 34But they setH7760 their abominationsH8251 in the houseH1004 whichH834 is calledH7121 by my nameH8034, to defileH2930 it. 35And they builtH1129 the highH1116 placesH1116 of BaalH1168, whichH834 are in the valleyH1516 of the sonH1121 of HinnomH2011, to cause their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323 to passH5674 throughH5674 the fire unto MolechH4432; whichH834 I commandedH6680 them notH3808, neitherH3808 cameH5927 it intoH5921 my mindH3820, that they should doH6213 this abominationH8441; to cause JudahH3063 to sinH2398. 36And nowH6258 therefore thusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, concerning this cityH5892, whereof ye sayH559, It is givenH5414 intoH413 the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 by the swordH2719, and by the famineH7458, and by the pestilenceH1698: 37BeholdH2005, I will gatherH6908 them outH413 of allH3605 the countriesH776, whither I have drivenH5080 them in mine angerH639, and in my furyH2534, and in greatH1419 wrathH2534; and I will bringH7725 them againH7725 unto this placeH4725, and I will causeH7725 them to dwellH3427 safelyH983: 38and they shall be my peopleH5971, and I will be their GodH430: 39and I will giveH5414 them one heartH3820 and one wayH1870, that they may fearH3372 meH5414 for ever; for the goodH2896 of them, and of their childrenH1121 afterH310 them: 40and I will makeH5414 an everlastingH5769 covenantH1285 with them, that I will notH3808 turnH7725 awayH5493 from them, to doH3190 them goodH3190; and I will putH5414 my fearH3374 in their heartsH3824, that they shall notH3808 departH5493 from meH5414. 41Yea, I will rejoiceH7797 over them to doH3605 them goodH2895, and I will plantH5193 them in this landH776 assuredly with my wholeH3605 heartH3820 and with my wholeH3605 soulH5315. 42For thusH3541 saith the LORDH3068: Like as I have broughtH935 allH3605 this greatH1419 evilH7451 uponH5921 this peopleH5971, soH3651 will I bringH935 uponH5921 them allH3605 the goodH2896 that I have promisedH1696 them. 43And fieldsH7704 shall be boughtH7069 in this landH776, whereof ye sayH559, It is desolateH8077, withoutH369 manH120 or beastH929; it is givenH5414 intoH776 the handH3027 of the ChaldeansH3778; 44Men shall buyH7069 fieldsH7704 for moneyH3701, and subscribe the deedsH5612, and sealH2856 them, and callH7725 witnessesH5707, in the landH776 of BenjaminH1144, and in the placesH5439 aboutH5439 JerusalemH3389, and in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, and in the citiesH5892 of the hillH2022 countryH2022, and citiesH5892 of the lowlandH8219, and in the citiesH5892 of the SouthH5045: for I will causeH7725 their captivityH7622 to returnH7725, saith the LORDH3068.
