Jeremiah 3:1-14
They sayH559, If a manH376 put awayH7971 his wifeH802, and she goH1980 from him, and becomeH1961 another man's, shall he returnH7725 unto her againH5750? Would not that landH776 beH1961 utterly pollutedH2610? But thou hast committed fornication with manyH7227 lovers; yetH5750 returnH7725 to me, saith Jehovah.
LiftH5375 up thine eyesH5869 unto the heightsH8205 and seeH7200, whereH375 hast thou not been lain with? In the waysH1870 hast thou satH3427 for them, as an Arab in the wildernessH4057; and thou hast pollutedH2610 the landH776 with thy fornications and with thy wickednessH7451.
And the showersH7241 have beenH1961 withholden, and there hath beenH1961 no latter rainH4456; but thou hast a harlot's foreheadH4696, thou refusest to beH1961 ashamedH3637.
Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My fatherH1, thou art the guide of my youthH5271?
Will he keepH8104 [his anger] for everH5769? Will he preserveH8104 it perpetually? Behold, thou hast spokenH1696 and hast done evilH7451 things, and thou art [so] determined.
And Jehovah saidH559 unto me in the daysH3117 of JosiahH2977 the kingH4428, Hast thou seenH7200 what backsliding IsraelH3478 hath done? She hath goneH1980 up upon every highH1364 mountainH2022 and under every green treeH6086, and there hath committed fornication.
And I saidH559, After she hath done all these [thingsH428], she will returnH7725 unto me; but she returnedH7725 not. And her sisterH269 JudahH3063, the treacherousH901, sawH7200 [it].
And I sawH7200 that when for all the causes wherein backsliding IsraelH3478 committedH5003 adulteryH5003 I had putH5414 her awayH7971, and givenH5414 her a bill of divorce, yet the treacherousH898 JudahH3063, her sisterH269, fearedH3372 not, but went and committedH5003 fornication alsoH1571.
And it came to pass through the lightness of her fornication that she pollutedH2610 the landH776, and committedH5003 adulteryH5003 with stonesH68 and with stocks.
And even for all this her treacherousH901 sisterH269 JudahH3063 hath not returnedH7725 unto me with her whole heartH3820, but with falsehoodH8267, saith Jehovah.
And Jehovah saidH559 unto me, Backsliding IsraelH3478 hath shewn herself more just than treacherousH898 JudahH3063.
GoH1980 and proclaimH7121 these wordsH1697 toward the northH6828, and sayH559, ReturnH7725, thou backsliding IsraelH3478, saith Jehovah: I will not make my faceH6440 dark upon you; for I am merciful, saith Jehovah; I will not keepH5201 [anger] for everH5769.
OnlyH389 acknowledge thine iniquityH5771, that thou hast transgressedH6586 against Jehovah thy 1GodH430, and hast turned thy waysH1870 hither and thither to the strangersH2114 under every green treeH6086; and ye have not hearkened to my voiceH6963, saith Jehovah.
ReturnH7725, backsliding children, saith Jehovah; for I am a husbandH1166 unto you, and I will takeH3947 you, oneH259 of a cityH5892, and twoH8147 of a familyH4940, and I will bringH935 you to ZionH6726.
