Jeremiah 10:2-16
ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: LearnH3925 not the wayH1870 of the nationsH1471, and be not dismayedH2865 at the signsH226 of the heavensH8064; for the nationsH1471 are dismayedH2865 at them.
For the statutesH2708 of the peoplesH5971 are vanityH1892; for [it is] a treeH6086 cutH3772 out of the forestH3293, worked with a chisel by the handsH3027 of the artizan;
they deck it with silverH3701 and with goldH2091; they fasten it with nailsH4548 and with hammersH4717, that it move not.
They are as a palm-column of turned workH4749, and they speakH1696 not; they are carriedH5375, for they cannot goH3190. Be not afraidH3372 of them; for they cannot do evilH7489, neither alsoH1571 is it in them to do goodH3190.
There is none like unto thee, Jehovah; thou art greatH1419, and thy nameH8034 is greatH1419 in might.
Who would not fearH3372 thee, O KingH4428 of nationsH1471? For to thee doth it appertain; for among all the wiseH2450 men of the nationsH1471, and in all their kingdomsH4438, there is none like unto thee.
But they are oneH259 and all senseless and foolish; the teaching of vanitiesH1892 is a stock.
SilverH3701 spreadH7554 into plates is broughtH935 from TarshishH8659, and goldH2091 from UphazH210, the workH4639 of the artizan and of the handsH3027 of the founder; blueH8504 and purpleH713 is their clothingH3830: they are all the workH4639 of skilful [men].
But Jehovah Elohim is truthH571; he is the living 1GodH430, and the KingH4428 of eternity. At his wrathH7110 the earthH776 trembleth, and the nationsH1471 cannot abide his indignationH2195.
Thus shall ye sayH560 unto them: The 2godsH426 that have not made the heavensH8065 and the earthH772, these shall perish from the earthH772, and from under the heavensH8065.
He hath madeH6213 the earthH776 by his powerH3581, he hath establishedH3559 the worldH8398 by his wisdomH2451, and hath stretchedH5186 out the heavensH8064 by his understandingH8394.
When he uttereth his voiceH6963, there is a tumultH1995 of watersH4325 in the heavensH8064, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the endH7097 of the earthH776; he maketh lightningsH1300 for the rainH4306, and bringeth forthH3318 the windH7307 out of his treasuriesH214.
Every manH120 is become brutish, bereft of knowledgeH1847; every founder is put to shame by the graven imageH6459, for his molten imageH6459 is falsehoodH8267, and there is no breathH7307 in them.
They are vanityH1892, a workH4639 of delusion: in the timeH6256 of their visitation they shall perishH6.
The portionH2506 of JacobH3290 is not like them; for it is he that hath formedH3335 all [thingsH428], and IsraelH3478 is the rodH7626 of his inheritanceH5159: Jehovah of hostsH6635 is his nameH8034.
