Jeremiah 10:13-25
13When he uttereth his voiceH6963, there is a tumultH1995 of watersH4325 in the heavensH8064, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the endH7097 of the earthH776; he maketh lightningsH1300 for the rainH4306, and bringeth forthH3318 the windH7307 out of his treasuriesH214. 14Every manH120 is become brutish, bereft of knowledgeH1847; every founder is put to shame by the graven imageH6459, for his molten imageH6459 is falsehoodH8267, and there is no breathH7307 in them. 15They are vanityH1892, a workH4639 of delusion: in the timeH6256 of their visitation they shall perishH6. 16The portionH2506 of JacobH3290 is not like them; for it is he that hath formedH3335 all [thingsH428], and IsraelH3478 is the rodH7626 of his inheritanceH5159: Jehovah of hostsH6635 is his nameH8034. 17GatherH622 up thy baggage out of the landH776, O inhabitress of the fortress. 18For thusH3541 saith Jehovah: Behold, I will this timeH6471 sling out the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776, and will distress them, that they may be foundH4672. 19WoeH188 is me, for my woundH4347! My stroke is hard to heal, and I had saidH559, Yea, this is [my] grief, and I will bearH5375 it. 20My tentH168 is despoiled, and all my cordsH4340 are broken; my children are goneH3318 forthH3318 from me, and they are not; there is none to stretchH5186 forthH3318 my tentH168 any more, and to setH6965 up my curtainsH3407. 21For the shepherdsH7462 are become brutish, and have not soughtH1875 Jehovah; thereforeH3651 have they not acted wisely, and all their flock is scatteredH6327. 22The voiceH6963 of a rumour! Behold, it cometh, and a greatH1419 commotion out of the northH6828 country, to makeH7760 the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 a desolationH8077, a dwelling-place of jackalsH8577. 23I knowH3045, Jehovah, that the wayH1870 of manH376 is not his own; it is not in a manH376 that walketh to directH3559 his stepsH6806. 24Jehovah, correct me, but with judgmentH4941; not in thine angerH639, lestH6435 thou bring me to nothing. 25PourH8210 out thy fury upon the nationsH1471 that knowH3045 thee not, and upon the familiesH4940 that callH7121 not on thy nameH8034; for they have eatenH398 up JacobH3290, yea, they have eatenH398 him up and consumedH398 him, and have laid waste his dwelling-place.
