Jeremiah 10:13-25

13When he uttereth his voiceH6963, there is a tumultH1995 of watersH4325 in the heavensH8064, and he causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earthH776; he maketh lightningsH1300 for the rainH4306, and bringeth forthH3318 the windH7307 out of his treasuriesH214. 14Every manH120 is become brutish and is without knowledgeH1847; every goldsmithH6884 is put to shame by his graven imageH6459; for his molten imageH6459 is falsehoodH8267, and there is no breathH7307 in them. 15They are vanityH1892, a workH4639 of delusion: in the timeH6256 of their visitation they shall perishH6. 16The portionH2506 of JacobH3290 is not like these; for he is the former of all thingsH428; and IsraelH3478 is the tribeH7626 of his inheritanceH5159: Jehovah of hostsH6635 is his nameH8034.

17GatherH622 up thy wares out of the landH776, O thou that abidest in the siegeH4692. 18For thusH3541 saith Jehovah, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776 at this timeH6471, and will distress them, that they may feel it.

19WoeH188 is me because of my hurt! my woundH4347 is grievous: but I saidH559, Truly this is my grief, and I must bearH5375 it. 20My tentH168 is destroyedH7703, and all my cordsH4340 are broken: my children are goneH3318 forthH3318 from me, and they are not: there is none to spreadH5186 my tentH168 any more, and to setH6965 up my curtainsH3407. 21For the shepherdsH7462 are become brutish, and have not inquired of Jehovah: thereforeH3651 they have not prospered, and all their flocks are scatteredH6327. 22The voiceH6963 of tidings, behold, it cometh, and a greatH1419 commotion out of the northH6828 country, to makeH7760 the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 a desolationH8077, a dwelling-place of jackalsH8577.

23O Jehovah, I knowH3045 that the wayH1870 of manH376 is not in himself; it is not in manH376 that walketh to directH3559 his stepsH6806. 24O Jehovah, correct me, but in measure; not in thine angerH639, lestH6435 thou bring me to nothing. 25PourH8210 out thy wrathH2534 upon the nationsH1471 that knowH3045 thee not, and upon the familiesH4940 that callH7121 not on thy nameH8034; for they have devouredH398 JacobH3290, yea, they have devouredH398 him and consumedH398 him, and have laid waste his habitation.
