2 Corinthians 12
1I must needs glory, though it is not expedient; but I will comeG2064 to visionsG3701 and revelationsG602 of the LordG2962. 2I know a manG444 in ChristG5547, fourteenG1180 yearsG2094 ago (whether in the bodyG4983, I know not; or whether out of the bodyG4983, I know not; GodG2316 knoweth), such a one caught up even to the thirdG5154 heavenG3772. 3And I know such a manG444 (whether in the bodyG4983, or apartG5565 from the bodyG4983, I know not; GodG2316 knoweth), 4how that he was caught up into ParadiseG3857, and heardG191 unspeakable words, which it is not lawfulG1832 for a manG444 to utter. 5On behalfG5228 of such a oneG3588 will I glory: but on mineG1473 own behalfG5228 I will not glory, save in my weaknessesG769. 6For if I should desireG2309 to glory, I shall not beG1510 foolishG878; for I shall speakG3004 the truthG225: but I forbear, lestG3361 any man should account of me above that which he seeth me to beG1510, or heareth from me. 7And by reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelationsG602, that I should not be exalted overmuch, there was givenG1325 to me a thorn in the fleshG4561, a messengerG32 of SatanG4567 to buffet me, that I should not be exalted overmuch. 8ConcerningG5228 this thingG3778 I besought the LordG2962 thrice, that it might departG868 from me. 9And he hath saidG3004 unto me, My graceG5485 is sufficient for thee: for my powerG1411 is made perfect in weaknessG769. Most gladlyG2236 thereforeG3767 will I ratherG3123 glory in my weaknessesG769, that the powerG1411 of ChristG5547 may rest upon me. 10Wherefore I take pleasureG2106 in weaknessesG769, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutionsG1375, in distressesG4730, for Christ’s sake: for whenG3752 I amG1510 weakG770, then amG1510 I strongG1415.
11I amG1510 becomeG1096 foolishG878: ye compelledG315 me; for I oughtG3784 to have beenG1510 commendedG4921 of you: for in nothing wasG1510 I behind the very chiefest apostlesG652, though I amG1510 nothing. 12Truly the signsG4592 of an apostleG652 were wrought among you in all patience, by signsG4592 and wondersG5059 and mightyG1411 works. 13For what isG1510 there wherein ye wereG1510 made inferior to the restG3062 of the churchesG1577, except it beG1510 that I myself wasG1510 not a burdenG2655 to you? forgiveG5483 me this wrong.
14BeholdG2400, this is the thirdG5154 timeG5154 I am readyG2093 to comeG2064 to you; and I will not be a burdenG2655 to you: for I seekG2212 not yours, but you: for the childrenG5043 oughtG3784 not to lay up for the parentsG1118, but the parentsG1118 for the childrenG5043. 15And I will mostG5228 gladlyG2236 spendG1159 and be spentG1159 for your soulsG5590. If I loveG25 you more abundantly, am I lovedG25 the less? 16But beG1510 it so, I did not myself burden you; but, beingG1510 crafty, I caught you with guile. 17Did I take advantage of you by any oneG5100 of them whom I have sentG649 unto you? 18I exhortedG3870 TitusG5103, and I sent the brotherG80 with him. Did TitusG5103 take any advantage of you? walkedG4043 we not in the sameG846 spiritG4151? walkedG4043 we not in the sameG846 stepsG2487?
19Ye thinkG1380 all this time that we are excusing ourselves unto you. In the sight of GodG2316 speakG2980 we in ChristG5547. But all thingsG3956, belovedG27, are for your edifying. 20For I fearG5399, lestG3361 by any means, whenG2064 I comeG2064, I should findG2147 you not suchG3634 as I wouldG2309, and should myself be foundG2147 of you suchG3634 as ye wouldG2309 not; lestG3361 by any means there should be strifeG2054, jealousyG2205, wraths, factions, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults; 21lestG3361 againG3825 when I comeG2064 my GodG2316 should humbleG5013 me before you, and I should mournG3996 for manyG4183 of them that have sinned heretofore, and repentedG3340 not of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they committed.
