Ioudaiōn G2453 : 5 Jesus Ἰησοῦς· Iēsous G2424 answered Ἀπεκρίθη Apekrithē G611 , Verily, verily, I say λέγω legō G3004 unto thee, Except one G5100 be born G1080 of water ὕδατος hudatos G5204 and the Spirit πνεύματος, pneumatos G4151 , he cannot enter εἰσελθεῖν eiselthein G1525 into the kingdom βασιλείαν basileian G932 of God θεοῦ.¶ theou G2316 . 8 The wind bloweth where ὅπου hopou G3699 it will , and thou hearest the voice G5456 thereof, but knowest not whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is G1510 every one G3588 that is G1510 born G1080 of the Spirit G4151 . 9 Nicodemus Νικόδημος Nikodēmos G3530 answered Ἀπεκρίθη Apekrithē G611 and said G3004 unto him , How πῶς pōs G4459 can these things ταῦτα tauta G3778 be ? 10 Jesus Ἰησοῦς Iēsous G2424 answered Ἀπεκρίθη Apekrithē G611 and said G3004 unto him , Art thou the teacher διδάσκαλος didaskalos G1320 of Israel Ἰσραὴλ Israēl G2474 , and understandest not these things ταῦτα tauta G3778 ? 11 Verily, verily, I say λέγω legō G3004 unto thee, We speak λαλοῦμεν laloumen G2980 that which we know , and bear μαρτυροῦμεν, marturoumen G3140 witness G3140 of that which we have seen G3708 ; and ye receive λαμβάνετε. lambanete G2983 not our witness G3140 . 12 If I told G3004 you earthly ἐπίγεια epigeia G1919 things and ye believe πιστεύετε, pisteuete G4100 not , how πῶς pōs G4459 shall ye believe πιστεύσετε; pisteusete G4100 if I tell G3004 you heavenly ἐπουράνια epourania G2032 things ? 14 And as Moses Μωϋσῆς Mōusēs G3475 lifted ὕψωσεν hupsōsen G5312 up the serpent ὄφιν ophin G3789 in the wilderness ἐρήμῳ, erēmō G2048 , even G2532 so must the Son υἱὸν huion G5207 of man ἀνθρώπου, anthrōpou G444 be lifted ὑψωθῆναι hupsōthēnai G5312 up ; 15 that whosoever believeth may in him have eternal αἰώνιον. aiōnion G166 life ζωὴν zōēn G2222 . 22 After these things ταῦτα tauta G3778 came G2064 Jesus Ἰησοῦς Iēsous G2424 and his disciples G3101 into the land γῆν, gēn G1093 of Judæa; and there he tarried with them , and baptized G907 . 25 There arose ἐγένετο egeneto G1096 therefore G3767 a questioning on the part of John’s disciples G3101 with a Jew Ἰουδαίου Ioudaiou G2453 about purifying. 26 And they came G2064 unto John Ἰωάννην Iōannēn G2491 , and said G3004 to him , Rabbi ῥαββί, rhabbi G4461 , he that was G1510 with thee beyond the Jordan Ἰορδάνου, Iordanou G2446 , to whom thou hast borne witness μεμαρτύρηκας, memarturēkas G3140 , behold ἴδε ide G2396 , the same G846 baptizeth, and all men come G2064 to him . 27 John Ἰωάννης Iōannēs G2491 answered ἀπεκρίθη apekrithē G611 and said G3004 , A man ἄνθρωπος anthrōpos G444 can receive λαμβάνειν lambanein G2983 nothing , except it have been ᾖ ē G1510 given G1325 him from heaven οὐρανοῦ. ouranou G3772 . 29 He that hath the bride νύμφην numphēn G3565 is G1510 the bridegroom νυμφίος numphios G3566 : but the friend φίλος philos G5384 of the bridegroom νυμφίου, numphiou G3566 , that standeth and heareth him , rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s νυμφίου. numphiou G3566 voice φωνὴν phōnēn G5456 : this my joy G5479 therefore οὖν oun G3767 is G1510 made full G4137 . 30 He must increase αὐξάνειν, auxanein G837 , but I must decrease . 34 For he whom God θεός, theos G2316 hath sent G649 speaketh the words of God θεοῦ theou G2316 : for he giveth not the Spirit πνεῦμα. pneuma G4151 by measure μέτρου metrou G3358 . 36 He that believeth on the Son υἱὸν huion G5207 hath eternal αἰώνιον· aiōnion G166 life ζωὴν zōēn G2222 ; but he that obeyeth not the Son υἱῷ huiō G5207 shall not see G3708 life ζωήν, zōēn G2222 , but the wrath ὀργὴ orgē G3709 of God θεοῦ theou G2316 abideth on him . ← John 2 John 4 → American Standard Version — 1901 — Public Domain
