12At the handsχειρῶνcheirōnG5495of the apostlesἀποστόλωνapostolōnG652manyπολλὰpollaG4183signsσημεῖαsēmeiaG4592and wondersτέραταterataG5059were takingG1096placeG1096amongG1722the peopleλαῷ·laōG2992;and they were allG3956togetherὁμοθυμαδὸνhomothumadonG3661inSolomon’sΣολομῶντος·SolomōntosG4672porticoστοᾷstoaG4745.

13But noneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762of the restλοιπῶνloipōnG3062daredἐτόλμαetolmaG5111to associateκολλᾶσθαιkollasthaiG2853with them; howeverἀλλ᾽all᾽G235,the peopleλαός.laosG2992heldG3170them inG3170highG3170esteemG3170.

14And increasinglyμᾶλλονmallonG3123believersπιστεύοντεςpisteuontesG4100in the Lordκυρίῳ,kuriōG2962,largeG4128numbersG4128of menἀνδρῶνandrōnG435and womenγυναικῶν,gunaikōnG1135, were beingaddedπροσετίθεντοprosetithentoG4369to their number,

15toG5620suchG5620anG5620extentG5620thatG5620they evenG2532carriedG1627the sickἀσθενεῖςastheneisG772outG1627into the streetsπλατείαςplateiasG4116and laidτιθέναιtithenaiG5087them on cotsG2825and palletsκραβάττων,krabattōnG2895,soG2443thatG2443when PeterΠέτρουPetrouG4074cameἐρχομένουerchomenouG2064byatG2579leastG2579his shadowσκιὰskiaG4639might fallἐπισκιάσῃepiskiasēG1982on anyτινὶtiniG5100of them.

16ThepeopleπλῆθοςplēthosG4128from the citiesπόλεωνpoleōnG4172in the vicinityπέριξperixG4038of JerusalemἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēmG2419were comingG4905togetherσυνήρχετοsunērchetoG4905asG2532wellG2532,bringingφέροντεςpherontesG5342people who were sickἀσθενεῖςastheneisG772orG2532tormentedὀχλουμένουςochloumenousG3791with uncleanἀκαθάρτων,akathartōnG169spiritsπνευμάτωνpneumatōnG4151,and they were allἅπαντες.¶hapantesG537being healedἐθεραπεύοντοetherapeuontoG2323.

17But the highἀρχιερεὺςarchiereusG749priestG749stoodG450upG450,alongκαὶkaiG2532with allπάντεςpantesG3956his associatesσὺνsunG4862(that isthe sectαἵρεσιςairesisG139ofthe SadduceesΣαδδουκαίων,SaddoukaiōnG4523),and they were filledG4092with jealousyζήλουzēlouG2205.

18They laidἐπέβαλονepebalonG1911handsχεῖραςcheirasG5495on the apostlesἀποστόλουςapostolousG652andputἔθεντοethentoG5087them in a publicδημοσίᾳ.¶dēmosiaG1219prisonτηρήσειtērēseiG5084.

19But duringδιὰdiaG1223the nightνυκτὸςnuktosG3571an angelἌγγελοςAngelosG32of the LordκυρίουkuriouG2962openedἀνοίξαςanoixasG455the gatesθύραςthurasG2374of the prisonφυλακῆς,phulakēsG5438,and leadingG1806them outG1806,he saidG3004,

20“GoπορεύεσθεporeuestheG4198,standσταθέντεςstathentesG2476andspeakλαλεῖτεlaleiteG2980to the peopleλαῷlaōG2992in the templeG2413areathe wholeπάνταpantaG3956messageῥήματαrhēmataG4487of thisταύτης.tautēsG3778LifeζωῆςzōēsG2222.”

21Upon hearingἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191this,they enteredεἰσῆλθονeisēlthonG1525into the templeG2413areaaboutὑπὸhupoG5259daybreakὄρθρονorthronG3722and beganto teachἐδίδασκον.¶edidaskonG1321.NowG1161whenthe highἀρχιερεὺςarchiereusG749priestG749and his associatesσὺνsunG4862cameG1525,they calledG4779theCouncilσυνέδριονsunedrionG4892togetherσυνεκάλεσανsunekalesanG4779,that is, allπᾶσανpasanG3956the SenateγερουσίανgerousianG1087of the sonsυἱῶνhuiōnG5207of IsraelἸσραὴλIsraēlG2474,and sentἀπέστειλανapesteilanG649ordersto the prisonδεσμωτήριονdesmōtērionG1201for them to be broughtἀχθῆναιachthēnaiG71.

22Butthe officersὑπηρέταιhupēretaiG5257who cameπαραγενόμενοιparagenomenoiG3854did not findεὗρονheuronG2147them in the prisonφυλακῇ.phulakēaG5438;and they returnedἀναστρέψαντεςanastrepsantesG390and reportedἀπήγγειλανapēngeilanG518,

23sayingλέγοντεςlegontesG3004, “We foundεὕρομενheuromenG2147the prisonδεσμωτήριονdesmōtērionG1201lockedκεκλεισμένονkekleismenonG2808quiteπάσῃpasēG3956securelyἀσφαλείᾳasphaleiaG803and the guardsφύλακαςphulakasG5441standingἑστῶταςhestōtasG2476at the doorsθυρῶν,thurōnG2374;but when we openedἀνοίξαντεςanoixantesG455them,we foundεὕρομεν.heuromenG2147noG3762oneοὐδέναoudenaG3762insideἔσωesōG2080.”

24NowδὲdeG1161whenὡςhōsG5613the captainστρατηγὸςstratēgosG4755of the templeG2413guardand the chiefἀρχιερεῖς,archiereisG749priestsG749heardἤκουσανēkousanG191theseτούτουςtoutousG3778wordsλόγουςlogousG3056,they were greatlyG1280perplexedδιηπόρουνdiēporounG1280aboutπερὶperiG4012them as to whatτίtiG5101would comeγένοιτοgenoitoG1096of thisτοῦτο.toutoG3778.

25But someoneτιςtisG5100cameπαραγενόμενοςparagenomenosG3854and reportedἀπήγγειλενapēngeilenG518to them, “The menἄνδρεςandresG435whomοὓςhousG3739you putἔθεσθεethestheG5087in prisonφυλακῇ,phulakēaG5438are standingἑστῶτεςhestōtesG2476in the templeG2413areaand teachingδιδάσκοντεςdidaskontesG1321the peopleλαόν.¶laonG2992!”

26ThenΤότεToteG5119the captainστρατηγὸςstratēgosG4755wentG565alongG565withthe officersὑπηρέταιςhupēretaisG5257and proceededto bringG71them backwithoutοὐ μετὰou metaG3756 G3326violenceβίας,biasG970(forthey wereG5399afraidἐφοβοῦντοephobountoG5399of the peopleλαὸνlaonG2992,that they might be stonedλιθασθῶσιν.¶lithasthōsinG3034).
