1NowδὲdeG1161at thisταύταιςtautaisG3778timeἡμέραιςhēmeraisG2250, as thedisciplesμαθητῶνmathētōnG3101wereincreasingπληθυνόντωνplēthunontōnG4129in number,a complaintγογγυσμὸςgongusmosG1112developedἐγένετοegenetoG1096on the part of theHellenisticἙλληνιστῶνHellēnistōnG1675JewsagainstπρὸςprosG4314the nativeHebrewsἙβραίους,HebraiousG1445,becauseὅτιhotiG3754theirwidowsχῆραιchēraiG5503were being overlookedπαρεθεωροῦντοparetheōrountoG3865inthe dailyκαθημερινῇkathēmerinēaG2522servingδιακονίᾳdiakoniaG1248of food.

2SoδὲdeG1161the twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427summonedπροσκαλεσάμενοιproskalesamenoiG4341thecongregationπλῆθοςplēthosG4128of the disciplesμαθητῶνmathētōnG3101and saidG3004, “It is not desirableἀρεστόνarestonG701for us to neglectκαταλείψανταςkataleipsantasG2641the wordλόγονlogonG3056of GodθεοῦtheouG2316in order to serveδιακονεῖνdiakoneinG1247tablesτραπέζαις.trapezaisG5132.

3Insteadδέ,deG1161,brothersἀδελφοί,adelphoiG80and sisters,selectἐπισκέψασθεepiskepsastheG1980from amongἐξexG1537you sevenἑπτὰheptaG2033menἄνδραςandrasG435of goodG3140reputationG3140,fullπλήρειςplēreisG4134of the SpiritπνεύματοςpneumatosG4151and of wisdomσοφίαςsophiasG4678,whomοὓςhousG3739we may putG2525inG2525chargeG2525of thisταύτης·tautēsG3778taskχρείαςchreiasG5532.

6And they broughtἔστησανestēsanG2476theseG3739menG3739beforeἐνώπιονenōpionG1799the apostlesἀποστόλων,apostolōnG652; and afterprayingπροσευξάμενοιproseuxamenoiG4336, theylaidG2007their handsχεῖρας.¶cheirasG5495onG2007them.

10But they were unableοὐκ ἴσχυονouk ischuonG3756 G2480tocopeἀντιστῆναιantistēnaiG436with his wisdomσοφίᾳsophiaG4678and the SpiritπνεύματιpneumatiG4151by whomᾧhōG3739he was speakingἐλάλει.¶elaleiG2980.

11ThenΤότεToteG5119they secretlyG5260inducedG5260menἄνδραςandrasG435to sayλέγονταςlegontasG3004, “We have heardἀκηκόαμενakēkoamenG191him speakλαλοῦντοςlalountosG2980blasphemousβλάσφημαblasphēmaG989wordsῥήματαrhēmataG4487againstεἰςeisG1519MosesΜωϋσῆνMōusēnG3475and Godθεόν·theonG2316.”

12And they stirredG4787upG4787the peopleλαὸνlaonG2992,the eldersπρεσβυτέρουςpresbuterousG4245,and the scribesγραμματεῖς,grammateisG1122, and theycameἐπιστάντεςepistantesG2186upG2186to him and draggedG4884him awayG4884,and broughtἤγαγονēgagonG71himbeforeεἰςeisG1519theCouncilσυνέδριον,sunedrionG4892.

13They putG2476forwardG2476falseψευδεῖςpseudeisG5571witnessesμάρτυραςmarturasG3144who saidλέγοντας·legontasG3004, “ThisοὗτοςhoutosG3778manἄνθρωποςanthrōposG444does notοὐouG3756stopπαύεταιpauetaiG3973speakingλαλῶνlalōnG2980againstκατὰkataG2596thisτούτουtoutouG3778holyἁγίουhagiouG40placeτόπουtopouG5117and the Lawνόμου·nomouG3551;
