Jeremiah 8:5-9
WhyH4069 hath this peopleH5971 of JerusalemH3389 slidden backH7725 with a perpetual backsliding? They holdH2388 fast deceit, they refuseH3985 to returnH7725.
I hearkened and heardH8085: they speakH1696 not what is rightH3651; there is no manH376 who repenteth him of his wickednessH7451, sayingH559, What have I done? Every oneH376 turneth to his courseH4794, like a horseH5483 rushing into the battleH4421.
Even a storkH2624 in the heavensH8064 knoweth her appointedH4150 timesH6256, and the turtle-dove and the swallow and the craneH5693 observeH8104 the timeH6256 of their comingH935; but my peopleH5971 knowH3045 not the judgmentH4941 of Jehovah.
HowH349 do ye sayH559, We are wiseH2450, and the lawH8451 of Jehovah is with us? Behold, certainly the lyingH8267 pen of the scribesH5608 hath madeH6213 it falsehoodH8267.
The wiseH2450 men are ashamedH954, they are dismayedH2865 and takenH3920: behold, they have rejectedH3988 Jehovah's wordH1697; and what wisdomH2451 is in them?
