Jeremiah 2:29-32
Wherefore would ye contendH7378 with me? Ye all have transgressedH6586 against me, saith Jehovah.
In vain have I smitten your children: they receivedH3947 no correctionH4148. Your own swordH2719 hath devouredH398 your prophetsH5030, like a destroyingH7843 lionH738.
O generationH1755, mark ye the wordH1697 of Jehovah. Have I beenH1961 a wildernessH4057 unto IsraelH3478, or a landH776 of thick darkness? Wherefore sayH559 my peopleH5971, We have dominion; we will comeH935 no more unto thee?
Doth a virginH1330 forgetH7911 her ornamentsH5716, a brideH3618 her attire? But my peopleH5971 have forgottenH7911 me daysH3117 without numberH4557.
