Jeremiah 17:5-11
ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: CursedH779 is the manH120 that confideth in manH120, and maketh fleshH1320 his armH2220, and whose heartH3820 departeth from Jehovah.
And he shall beH1961 like the heath in the desertH6160, and shall not seeH7200 when goodH2896 cometh; but he shall inhabitH3427 the parched places in the wildernessH4057, a salt landH776 and not inhabitedH3427.
BlessedH1288 is the manH1397 that confideth in Jehovah, and whose confidenceH4009 Jehovah is.
For he shall beH1961 like a treeH6086 plantedH8362 by the watersH4325, and that spreadeth out its rootsH8328 by the stream, and he shall not see when heatH2527 cometh, but his leafH5929 shall beH1961 green; and in the yearH8141 of drought he shall not beH1961 careful, neither shall he cease to yield fruitH6529.
The heartH3820 is deceitful above all things, and incurableH605; who can knowH3045 it?
I Jehovah searchH2713 the heartH3820, I try the reins, even to giveH5414 each oneH376 according to his waysH1870, according to the fruitH6529 of his doings.
[As] the partridgeH7124 sitteth on [eggs] it hath not laid, [so] is he that getteth richesH6239 and not by rightH4941: in the midst of his daysH3117 shall he leaveH5800 them, and at his endH319 shall beH1961 a foolH5036.
