1 Corinthians 11:8-34
8For manG435 isG1510 not of womanG1135, but womanG1135 of manG435. 9For alsoG2532 manG435 was not created for the sakeG1223 of the womanG1135, but womanG1135 for the sakeG1223 of the manG435. 10Therefore oughtG3784 the womanG1135 to have authorityG1849 on her headG2776, on accountG1223 of the angelsG32. 11HoweverG4133, neither [is] womanG1135 without manG435, nor manG435 without womanG1135, in [the] LordG2962. 12For as the womanG1135 [is] of the manG435, so alsoG2532 [is] the manG435 by the womanG1135, but all thingsG3956 of 1GodG2316. 13JudgeG2919 in yourselves: isG1510 it comely that a womanG1135 should prayG4336 to 2GodG2316 uncovered? 14Does not evenG3761 natureG5449 itself teachG1321 you, that manG435, if he have longG2863 hairG2863, it isG1510 a dishonour to him? 15But womanG1135, if she have longG2863 hairG2863, [it isG1510] gloryG1391 to her; for the longG2863 hairG2863 isG1510 givenG1325 [to her] in lieu of a veil. 16But if any oneG5100 thinkG1380 to beG1510 contentious, we have no suchG5108 customG4914, nor the assemblies of 3GodG2316. 17But [in] prescribing [to you on] this [which I nowG1161 enter on], I do not praiseG1867, [namely,] that ye comeG4905 togetherG4905, not for the better, but for the worse. 18For firstG4413, when ye comeG4905 togetherG4905 in assemblyG1577, I hearG191 there existG5225 divisionsG4978 among you, and I partly give credit [to it]. 19For there must alsoG2532 beG1510 sects among you, that the approved may becomeG1096 manifest among you. 20When ye come thereforeG3767 togetherG4905 into oneG3588 place, it isG1510 not to eatG2068 [the] Lord's supperG1173. 21For each oneG1538 in eatingG2068 takes his ownG2398 supperG1173 before [others], and oneG1538 is hungryG3983 and another drinks to excess. 22Have ye not then housesG3614 for eatingG2068 and drinkingG4095? or do ye despiseG2706 the assemblyG1577 of 4GodG2316, and put to shameG2617 them who have not? What shall I sayG3004 to you? shall I praiseG1867 you? In this [point] I do not praiseG1867. 23For I receivedG2983 from the LordG2962, that which I alsoG2532 deliveredG3860 to you, that the LordG2962 JesusG2424, in the nightG3571 in which he was deliveredG3860 up, tookG2983 breadG740, 24and having givenG2168 thanksG2168 brokeG2806 [it], and saidG3004, This isG1510 my bodyG4983, which [isG1510] for you: this do in remembranceG364 of me. 25In like manner alsoG2532 the cupG4221, after having supped, sayingG3004, This cupG4221 isG1510 the newG2537 covenantG1242 in my bloodG129: this do, as oftenG3740 as ye shall drinkG4095 [it], in remembranceG364 of me. 26For as oftenG3740 as ye shall eatG2068 this breadG740, and drinkG4095 the cupG4221, ye announce the deathG2288 of the LordG2962, until he comeG2064. 27So that whosoever shall eatG2068 the breadG740, or drinkG4095 the cupG4221 of the LordG2962, unworthily, shall beG1510 guiltyG1777 in respect of the bodyG4983 and of the bloodG129 of the LordG2962. 28But let a manG444 prove himself, and thusG3779 eatG2068 of the breadG740, and drinkG4095 of the cupG4221. 29For [the] eater and drinker eatsG2068 and drinksG4095 judgmentG2917 to himself, not distinguishing the bodyG4983. 30On this accountG1223 manyG4183 among you [are] weakG772 and infirm, and a good manyG4183 are fallen asleepG2837. 31But if we judgedG2919 ourselves, so were we not judgedG2919. 32But being judgedG2919, we are disciplined of [the] LordG2962, that we may not be condemnedG2632 with the worldG2889. 33SoG5620 that, my brethren, whenG4905 ye comeG4905 togetherG4905 to eatG2068, wait for oneG240 another. 34If any oneG5100 be hungryG3983, let him eatG2068 at homeG3624, that ye may not comeG2064 togetherG4905 for judgmentG2917. But the otherG3062 things, whenever I comeG2064, I will set in orderG2443.
