1 Corinthians 4
Darby Bible
1Let a manG444 so account of us as servantsG5257 of ChristG5547, and stewardsG3623 of [the] mysteriesG3466 of 1GodG2316. 2HereG5602, further, it is soughtG2212 in stewardsG3623, that a man be foundG2147 faithfulG4103. 3But for me it isG1510 the veryG1646 smallest matter that I beG1510 examined of you or of man's dayG2250. Nor do I evenG3761 examine myself. 4For I amG1510 conscious of nothing in myself; but I amG1510 not justifiedG1344 by this: but he that examines me isG1510 the LordG2962. 5So that do not judgeG2919 anythingG5100 before [the] timeG2540, until the LordG2962 shall comeG2064, who shall alsoG2532 both bring to lightG5461 the hidden thingsG3739 of darknessG4655, and shall makeG5319 manifestG5319 the counsels of heartsG2588; and then shall each have [his] praiseG1868 from 2GodG2316. 6NowG1161 these thingsG3778, brethren, I have transferred, in their application, to myself and ApollosG625, for your sakesG1223, that ye may learnG3129 in us the [lesson of] not [letting your thoughts go] above what is writtenG1125, that ye may not be puffed up oneG1520 for [such a] oneG1520 against another. 7For who makes thee to differ? and what hast thou which thou hast not receivedG2983? but if alsoG2532 thou hast receivedG2983, whyG5101 boastest thou as not receivingG2983? 8AlreadyG2235 ye areG1510 filled; alreadyG2235 ye have beenG1510 enriched; ye have reignedG936 without us; and I would that ye reignedG936, that we alsoG2532 might reignG936 with you. 9For I thinkG1380 that 3GodG2316 has set us the apostlesG652 for the lastG2078, as appointed to death. For we have becomeG1096 a spectacle to the worldG2889, both to angelsG32 and menG444. 10We [are] fools for Christ's sakeG1223, but ye prudent in ChristG5547: we weakG772, but ye strongG2478: ye glorious, but we in dishonour. 11To the presentG737 hourG5610 we both hungerG3983 and thirstG1372, and are in nakedness, and buffeted, and wander without a home, 12and labour, working with our ownG2398 handsG5495. Railed at, we blessG2127; persecutedG1377, we suffer [it]; 13insulted, we entreat: we are becomeG1096 as [the] offscouring of the worldG2889, [the] refuse of all, until nowG737. 14Not [as] chiding do I writeG1125 these thingsG3778 to you, but as my belovedG27 childrenG5043 I admonishG3560 [you]. 15For if ye should have tenG3463 thousandG3463 instructors in ChristG5547, yetG235 not manyG4183 fathersG3962; for in ChristG5547 JesusG2424 I have begottenG1080 you through the glad tidings. 16I entreat you thereforeG3767, be my imitatorsG3402. 17For this reason I have sentG3992 to you Timotheus, who isG1510 my belovedG27 and faithfulG4103 childG5043 in [the] LordG2962, who shall putG3992 you in mind of my waysG3598 [as] they [areG1510] in ChristG5547, according as I teachG1321 everywhereG3837 in every assemblyG1577. 18But some have been puffed up, as if I were not comingG2064 to you; 19but I will comeG2064 quickly to you, if the LordG2962 will; and I will knowG1097, not the wordG3056 of those that are puffed up, but the powerG1411. 20For the kingdomG932 of 4GodG2316 [is] not in wordG3056, but in powerG1411. 21What will ye? that I comeG2064 to you with a rodG4464; or in loveG26, and [in] a spiritG4151 of meekness?
