1 Corinthians 12

Darby Bible

1But concerningG4012 spiritualG4152 [manifestations], brethren, I do not wishG2309 you to be ignorantG50. 2Ye know that whenG3753 ye wereG1510 [of the] nationsG1484 [ye wereG1510] ledG71 awayG520 to dumb idolsG1497, in whatever way ye might beG1510 ledG71. 3I give you thereforeG1352 to know, that no oneG3762, speakingG2980 in [the power of the] SpiritG4151 of 1GodG2316, saysG3004, Curse [on] JesusG2424; and no oneG3762 can sayG3004, LordG2962 JesusG2424, unless in [the power of the] HolyG40 SpiritG4151. 4But there areG1510 distinctions of giftsG5486, but the sameG846 SpiritG4151; 5and there areG1510 distinctions of services, and the sameG846 LordG2962; 6and there areG1510 distinctions of operations, but the sameG846 2GodG2316 who operates all thingsG3956 in all. 7But to each the manifestationG5321 of the SpiritG4151 is givenG1325 for profit. 8For to oneG3739, by the SpiritG4151, is givenG1325 [the] wordG3056 of wisdomG4678; and to another [the] wordG3056 of knowledgeG1108, accordingG2596 to the sameG846 SpiritG4151; 9and to a differentG2087 oneG1520 faithG4102, in [the power of] the sameG846 SpiritG4151; and to another giftsG5486 of healingG2386 in [the power of] the sameG846 SpiritG4151; 10and to another operations of miracles; and to another prophecyG4394; and to another discerning of spiritsG4151; and to a differentG2087 oneG243 kindsG1085 of tonguesG1100; and to another interpretationG2058 of tonguesG1100. 11But all these thingsG3778 operates the oneG1520 and the sameG846 SpiritG4151, dividing to each in particular according as he pleases. 12For evenG2532 as the bodyG4983 isG1510 oneG1520 and has manyG4183 membersG3196, but all the membersG3196 of the bodyG4983, beingG1510 manyG4183, areG1510 oneG1520 bodyG4983, so alsoG2532 [isG1510] the ChristG5547. 13For alsoG2532 in [the power of] oneG1520 SpiritG4151 we have all been baptised into oneG1520 bodyG4983, whether JewsG2453 or GreeksG1672, whether bondmen or freeG1658, and have all been given to drinkG4222 of oneG1520 SpiritG4151. 14For alsoG2532 the bodyG4983 isG1510 not oneG1520 memberG3196 but manyG4183. 15If the footG4228 sayG3004, Because I amG1510 not a handG5495 I amG1510 not of the bodyG4983, isG1510 it on account of this not indeed of the bodyG4983? 16And if the earG3775 sayG3004, Because I amG1510 not an eyeG3788 I amG1510 not of the bodyG4983, isG1510 it on account of this not indeed of the bodyG4983? 17If the wholeG3650 bodyG4983 [were] an eyeG3788, whereG4226 the hearingG189? if all hearingG189, whereG4226 the smelling? 18But nowG1161 3GodG2316 has setG5087 the membersG3196, each oneG1520 of them in the bodyG4983, according as it has pleased [him]. 19But if all wereG1510 oneG1520 memberG3196, whereG4226 the bodyG4983? 20But nowG1161 the membersG3196 [are] manyG4183, and the bodyG4983 oneG1520. 21The eyeG3788 cannot sayG3004 to the handG5495, I have not needG5532 of thee; or againG3825, the headG2776 to the feetG4228, I have not needG5532 of you. 22But muchG4183 ratherG3123, the membersG3196 of the bodyG4983 which seemG1380 to beG1510 weakerG772 areG1510 necessaryG316; 23and those [parts] of the bodyG4983 which we esteem to beG1510 the more void of honour, these we clothe with more abundant honour; and our uncomely [parts] have more abundant comeliness; 24but our comely [parts] have not needG5532. But 4GodG2316 has tempered the bodyG4983 together, having givenG1325 more abundant honour to [the part] that lackedG5302; 25that there might beG1510 no divisionG4978 in the bodyG4983, but that the membersG3196 might have the sameG846 concern oneG240 for another. 26And if oneG1520 memberG3196 sufferG3958, all the membersG3196 sufferG3958 with [it]; and if oneG1520 memberG3196 be glorifiedG1392, all the membersG3196 rejoiceG4796 with [it]. 27NowG1161 ye areG1510 Christ's bodyG4983, and membersG3196 in particular. 28And 5GodG2316 has setG5087 certain in the assemblyG1577: firstG4413, apostlesG652; secondly, prophetsG4396; thirdly, teachersG1320; then miraculousG1411 powersG1411; then giftsG5486 of healingsG2386; helps; governments; kindsG1085 of tonguesG1100. 29[Are] all apostlesG652? [are] all prophetsG4396? [are] all teachersG1320? [are] all [in possession of] miraculousG1411 powersG1411? 30have all giftsG5486 of healingsG2386? do all speakG2980 with tonguesG1100? do all interpretG1329? 31But desireG2206 earnestlyG2206 the greaterG3173 giftsG5486, and yet shew I unto you a wayG3598 of moreG2089 surpassing excellence.
