10But he becameἐγένετοegenetoG1096hungryπρόσπεινος,prospeinosG4361and wantedἤθελενēthelenG2309to eatγεύσασθαι.geusasthaiG1089;but while they were makingG3903preparationsG3903, hefellἐγένετοegenetoG1096into a tranceἔκστασις,ekstasisG1611;

11and he sawθεωρεῖtheōreiG2334the skyοὐρανὸνouranonG3772openedἀνεῳγμένονaneōgmenonG455upG455, and anobjectσκεῦόςskeuosG4632likeὡςhōsG5613a greatμεγάληνmegalēnG3173sheetὀθόνηνothonēnG3607comingG2597downG2597,loweredκαθιέμενονkathiemenonG2524by fourτέσσαρσινtessarsinG5064cornersἀρχαῖςarchaisG746to the groundγῆς·gēsG1093,

12and on it were allπάνταpantaG3956kinds offour-footedG5074animalsG5074andcrawlingG2062creaturesG2062of the earthγῆςgēsG1093and birdsπετεινὰpeteinaG4071of the skyοὐρανοῦ.ouranouG3772.

13A voiceφωνὴphōnēG5456cameἐγένετοegenetoG1096to him, “GetG450upG450,PeterΠέτρε,PetreG4074,killθῦσονthusonG2380and eatG2068!”

14But PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074saidG3004, “By noG3365meansG3365,Lordκύριε·kurieG2962, forI have neverοὐδέποτεoudepoteG3763eatenG2068anythingπᾶνpanG3956unholyκοινὸνkoinonG2839and uncleanἀκάθαρτον.akathartonG169.”

15AgainπάλινpalinG3825a voiceφωνὴphōnēG5456cameto him a secondδευτέρουdeuterouG1208timeG1208, “WhatἃhaG3739GodθεὸςtheosG2316has cleansedἐκαθάρισεν,ekatharisenG2511,noμὴmēG3361longerconsiderκοίνου.koinouG2840unholyG2839.”

16ThisτοῦτοtoutoG3778happenedἐγένετοegenetoG1096threeτρίς,trisG5151timesG5151,and immediatelyG2117theobjectσκεῦοςskeuosG4632was takenG353upG353into the skyοὐρανόν.ouranonG3772.

17NowδὲdeG1161whileὡςhōsG5613PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074was greatlyG1280perplexedδιηπόρειdiēporeiG1280inmindἑαυτῷhe'autōG1438as to whatτίtiG5101the visionὅραμαhoramaG3705whichὃhoG3739he had seenG3708mightmean, beholdἰδοὺidouG2400,the menἄνδρεςandresG435who had been sentἀπεσταλμένοιapestalmenoiG649by CorneliusΚορνηλίουKornēliouG2883had askedG1331directionsG1331to Simon’sΣίμωνος,SimōnosG4613houseοἰκίανoikianG3614,and they appearedἐπέστησανepestēsanG2186at the gateπυλῶνα·pulōnaG4440;

18and callingφωνήσαντεςphōnēsantesG5455out, they were askingἐπυνθάνοντοepunthanontoG4441whetherεἰeiG1487SimonΣίμωνSimōnG4613,who was also calledἐπικαλούμενοςepikaloumenosG1941PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074,was stayingξενίζεται.¶xenizetaiG3579thereἐνθάδεenthadeG1759.

19While PeterΠέτρουPetrouG4074was reflectingG1327onthe visionὁράματοςhoramatosG3705,the Spiritπνεῦμα·pneumaG4151saidG3004to him, “BeholdἰδοὺidouG2400,threeτρεῖςtreisG5140menἄνδρεςandresG435are lookingG2212forG2212you.

20But getG450upG450,goκατάβηθιkatabēthiG2597downstairsG2597andaccompanyπορεύου σὺνporeuou sunG4198 G4862themwithoutμηδὲνmēdenG3367misgivingsδιακρινόμενος,diakrinomenosG1252,for I have sentἀπέσταλκαapestalkaG649them MyselfἐγὼegōG1473.”

21PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074wentG2597downκαταβὰςkatabasG2597to the menἄνδραςandrasG435and saidG3004, “BeholdἰδοὺidouG2400,I amεἰμιeimiG1510the one you are lookingG2212forG2212;whatτίςtisG5101is the reasonαἰτίαaitiaG156for whichG3739you have comeπάρεστε;paresteG3918?”

22They saidG3004, “CorneliusΚορνήλιοςKornēliosG2883,a centurionἑκατοντάρχης,hekatontarchēsG1543,a righteousδίκαιοςdikaiosG1342andGod-fearingθεὸνtheonG2316manἀνὴρanērG435wellμαρτυρούμενόςmarturoumenosG3140spokenG3140of by the entireὅλουholouG3650nationἔθνουςethnousG1484of the JewsἸουδαίων,IoudaiōnG2453, was divinelydirectedἐχρηματίσθηechrēmatisthēG5537by aholyἁγίουhagiouG40angelἀγγέλουangelouG32to sendμεταπέμψασθαίmetapempsasthaiG3343for you to cometo his houseοἶκονoikonG3624and hearἀκοῦσαιakousaiG191a messageῥήματαrhēmataG4487from you.”

23SoοὖνounG3767he invitedG1528them inG1528and gaveG3579them lodgingG3579.Now on the nextἐπαύριονepaurionG1887dayG1887he gotG450readyG450and wentG1831awayG1831with them, andsomeτινεςtinesG5100ofthe brothersἀδελφῶνadelphōnG80fromJoppaἸόππηςIoppēsG2445accompaniedσυνῆλθονsunēlthonG4905him.

24On the followingG1887dayἐπαύριονepaurionG1887he enteredεἰσῆλθενeisēlthenG1525CaesareaΚαισάρειαν·KaisareianG2542.NowG1161CorneliusΚορνήλιοςKornēliosG2883was expectingG4327them and had calledG4779togetherσυγκαλεσάμενοςsugkalesamenosG4779his relativesσυγγενεῖςsungeneisG4773and closeἀναγκαίουςanagkaiousG316friendsφίλους.philousG5384.

25WhenὡςhōsG5613PeterΠέτρον,PetronG4074enteredεἰσελθεῖνeiseltheinG1525,CorneliusΚορνήλιοςKornēliosG2883metσυναντήσαςsunantēsasG4876him, and fellπεσὼνpesōnG4098at his feetπόδαςpodasG4228andworshipedπροσεκύνησεν.prosekunēsenG4352him.

26But PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074helpedG1453him upG1453,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “StandG450upG450;I, tooκαὶkaiG2532,amεἰμι.eimiG1510justG846a manἄνθρωπόςanthrōposG444.”

27As he talkedσυνομιλῶνsunomilōnG4926with him, he enteredεἰσῆλθενeisēlthenG1525and foundεὑρίσκειheuriskeiG2147manyπολλούς,pollousG4183peopleG4183assembledσυνεληλυθόταςsunelēluthotasG4905.

28And he saidἔφηephēG5346to them, “You yourselvesὑμεῖςhumeisG4771knowἐπίστασθεepistastheG1987that it isforbiddenἀθέμιτόνathemitonG111for a JewishἸουδαίῳIoudaiōG2453manἀνδρὶandriG435to associateG2853withG2853orἢēG2228visitπροσέρχεσθαιproserchesthaiG4334aforeignerἀλλοφύλῳ·allophulōG246; and yetGodθεὸςtheosG2316has shownἔδειξενedeixenG1166me that I am not to callλέγεινlegeinG3004anyμηδέναmēdenaG3367personἄνθρωπον,anthrōponG444unholyκοινὸνkoinonG2839orἢēG2228uncleanἀκάθαρτονakathartonG169.

29That is whyδιὸdioG1352I cameἦλθονēlthonG2064withoutG369evenκαὶkaiG2532raisingG369anyG369objectionG369when I was sentG3343forG3343.Soοὖν,ounG3767I askπυνθάνομαιpunthanomaiG4441,for whatτίνιtiniG5101reasonλόγῳlogōG3056did you sendG3343forG3343me?”

30CorneliusΚορνήλιοςKornēliosG2883saidἔφη·ephēG5346, “FourτετάρτηςtetartēsG5067daysἡμέραςhēmerasG2250agoἀπὸapoG575to thisταύτηςtautēsG3778hourὥραςhōrasG5610,I was prayingπροσευχόμενοςproseuchomenosG4336in my houseοἴκῳoikōG3624during theninthG1729hourG1729;and beholdἰδοὺidouG2400,a manἀνὴρanērG435stoodἔστηestēG2476beforeἐνώπιόνenōpionG1799me in shiningλαμπρᾷlampraG2986clothingἐσθῆτιesthētiG2066,

31and he saidφησίν·phēsinG5346, ‘CorneliusΚορνήλιε,KornēlieG2883,your prayerπροσευχὴproseuchēG4335has been heardεἰσηκούσθηeisēkousthēG1522and your charitableG1654giftsG1654have been rememberedἐμνήσθησανemnēsthēsanG3403beforeἐνώπιονenōpionG1799Godθεοῦ.theouG2316.

32ThereforeοὖνounG3767sendπέμψονpempsonG3992some men toJoppaἸόππηνIoppēnG2445and inviteμετακάλεσαιmetakalesaiG3333SimonΣίμωναSimōnaG4613,whoὃςhosG3739is also calledἐπικαλεῖταιepikaleitaiG1941PeterΠέτρος·PetrosG4074,to come to you; he is stayingξενίζεταιxenizetaiG3579at the houseοἰκίᾳoikiaG3614of SimonΣίμωνοςSimōnosG4613thetannerβυρσέωςburseōsG1038,by the seaθάλασσανthalassanG2281.’

33SoοὖνounG3767I sentἔπεμψαepempsaG3992mento you immediatelyἐξαυτῆςexautēsG1824, and you havebeen kindG2573enoughG2573to comeπαραγενόμενος.paragenomenosG3854.NowνῦνnunG3568thenοὖνounG3767,we are allπάντεςpantesG3956hereG3918presentπάρεσμενparesmenG3918beforeἐνώπιονenōpionG1799GodθεοῦtheouG2316to hearἀκοῦσαιakousaiG191everythingπάνταpantaG3956that you have been commandedπροστεταγμέναprostetagmenaG4367by the Lordκυρίου.¶kuriouG2962.”
