Acts 10:9-35

9On the nextG1887 dayG1887, as they were on their wayG3596 and approachingG1448 the cityG4172, 1PeterG4074 wentG305 upG305 on 2the 3housetopG1430 aboutG4012 45the sixthG1623 hourG5610 to prayG4336. 10But he becameG1096 hungryG4361 and wantedG2309 to eatG1089; but while they were makingG3903 preparationsG3903, he 6fellG1096 into a tranceG1611; 11and he sawG2334 7the skyG3772 openedG455 upG455, and an 8objectG4632 likeG5613 a greatG3173 sheetG3607 comingG2597 downG2597, loweredG2524 by fourG5064 cornersG746 to the groundG1093, 12and on it were allG3956 kinds of four-footedG5074 animalsG5074 and 9crawlingG2062 creaturesG2062 of the earthG1093 and birdsG4071 of the skyG3772. 13A voiceG5456 cameG1096 to him, “GetG450 upG450, PeterG4074, 10killG2380 and eatG2068!” 14But PeterG4074 saidG3004, “By noG3365 meansG3365, 11LordG2962, for 12I have neverG3763 eatenG2068 anythingG3956 13unholyG2839 and uncleanG169.” 15AgainG3825 a voiceG5456 came to him a secondG1208 timeG1208, “14WhatG3739 GodG2316 has cleansedG2511, noG3361 longer 15considerG2840 unholyG2839.” 16ThisG3778 happenedG1096 threeG5151 timesG5151, and immediatelyG2117 the 16objectG4632 was takenG353 upG353 into the skyG3772.

17NowG1161 whileG5613 PeterG4074 was greatlyG1280 perplexedG1280 in 17mindG1438 as to whatG5101 18the visionG3705 whichG3739 he had seenG3708 might 19mean, beholdG2400, 20the menG435 who had been sentG649 by CorneliusG2883 had askedG1331 directionsG1331 to Simon’sG4613 houseG3614, and they appearedG2186 at the gateG4440; 18and callingG5455 out, they were askingG4441 whetherG1487 SimonG4613, who was also calledG1941 PeterG4074, was stayingG3579 thereG1759. 19While PeterG4074 was reflectingG1327 on 21the visionG3705, 22the SpiritG4151 saidG3004 to him, “BeholdG2400, 23threeG5140 menG435 are lookingG2212 forG2212 you. 20But getG450 upG450, goG2597 downstairsG2597 and 24accompanyG4198G4862 them 25withoutG3367 misgivingsG1252, for I have sentG649 them MyselfG1473.” 21PeterG4074 wentG2597 downG2597 to the menG435 and saidG3004, “BeholdG2400, I amG1510 the one you are lookingG2212 forG2212; whatG5101 is the reasonG156 for whichG3739 you have comeG3918?” 22They saidG3004, “CorneliusG2883, a centurionG1543, a righteousG1342 and 26God-fearingG2316 manG435 wellG3140 spokenG3140 of by the entireG3650 nationG1484 of the JewsG2453, 27was divinely directedG5537 by a 28holyG40 angelG32 to sendG3343 for you to come to his houseG3624 and hearG191 2930a messageG4487 from you.” 23SoG3767 he invitedG1528 them inG1528 and gaveG3579 them lodgingG3579.

Now on the nextG1887 dayG1887 he gotG450 readyG450 and wentG1831 awayG1831 with them, and 31someG5100 of 32the brothersG80 from 33JoppaG2445 accompaniedG4905 him. 24On the followingG1887 dayG1887 he enteredG1525 34CaesareaG2542. NowG1161 CorneliusG2883 was expectingG4327 them and had calledG4779 togetherG4779 his relativesG4773 and closeG316 friendsG5384. 25WhenG5613 PeterG4074 enteredG1525, CorneliusG2883 metG4876 him, and fellG4098 at his feetG4228 and 3536worshipedG4352 him. 26But PeterG4074 helpedG1453 him upG1453, sayingG3004, “37StandG450 upG450; I, tooG2532, amG1510 justG846 a manG444.” 27As he talkedG4926 with him, he enteredG1525 and foundG2147 38manyG4183 peopleG4183 assembledG4905. 28And he saidG5346 to them, “You yourselvesG4771 knowG1987 that it is 39forbiddenG111 for a JewishG2453 manG435 to associateG2853 withG2853 orG2228 visitG4334 a 40foreignerG246; and yet 41GodG2316 has shownG1166 me that I am not to callG3004 anyG3367 personG444 42unholyG2839 orG2228 uncleanG169. 29That is whyG1352 I cameG2064 withoutG369 evenG2532 raisingG369 anyG369 objectionG369 when I was sentG3343 forG3343. SoG3767 I askG4441, for whatG5101 reasonG3056 did you sendG3343 forG3343 me?”

30CorneliusG2883 saidG5346, “43FourG5067 daysG2250 agoG575 to thisG3778 hourG5610, I was prayingG4336 in my houseG3624 during 44the 45ninthG1729 hourG1729; and beholdG2400, 46a manG435 stoodG2476 beforeG1799 me in shiningG2986 clothingG2066, 31and he saidG5346, ‘CorneliusG2883, your prayerG4335 has been heardG1522 and your charitableG1654 giftsG1654 have been rememberedG3403 beforeG1799 GodG2316. 32ThereforeG3767 sendG3992 some men to 47JoppaG2445 and inviteG3333 SimonG4613, whoG3739 is also calledG1941 PeterG4074, to come to you; he is stayingG3579 at the houseG3614 of SimonG4613 the tannerG1038, by the seaG2281.’ 33SoG3767 I sentG3992 men to you immediatelyG1824, and you have 48been kindG2573 enoughG2573 to comeG3854. NowG3568 thenG3767, we are allG3956 hereG3918 presentG3918 beforeG1799 GodG2316 to hearG191 everythingG3956 that you have been commandedG4367 by the LordG2962.”

3449OpeningG455 his mouthG4750, PeterG4074 saidG3004:

“I mostG225 certainlyG1909G225 understandG2638 now that 50GodG2316 is not oneG4381 toG4381 showG4381 partialityG4381, 35but 51in everyG3956 nationG1484 the one who 5253fearsG5399 Him and 54doesG2038 whatG1343 isG1343 rightG1343 is acceptableG1184 to Him.
