Intent of the Law

It was addedG4369 61becauseG5484 of transgressionsG3847, having been 62ordainedG1299 throughG1223 angelsG32 63by the 64agencyG5495 of a mediatorG3316, untilG891 65the seedG4690 would comeG2064 to whomG3739 the promiseG1861 had been madeG1861. 20NowG1161 66a mediatorG3316 is not 67for oneG1520 party only; whereasG1161 GodG2316 is only oneG1520. 21Is the LawG3551 thenG3767 contraryG2596 to the promisesG1860 of GodG2316? 68May it neverG3361 be! For 69ifG1487 a lawG3551 had been givenG1325 which was ableG1410 to impartG2227 lifeG2227, then righteousnessG1343 70would indeedG3689 have beenG1510 71basedG1537 on lawG3551. 22But the ScriptureG1124 has 72shutG4788 up 73everyoneG3956 underG5259 sinG266, soG2443 that the promiseG1860 by faithG4102 in JesusG2424 ChristG5547 might be givenG1325 to thoseG3588 who believeG4100.
