Ezekiel 26

Darby Bible

1And it came to pass in the eleventh yearH8141, on the first of the monthH2320, [that] the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559, 2SonH1121 of manH120, because TyreH6865 hath saidH559 against JerusalemH3389, AhaH1889, she is brokenH7665, the gate of the peoplesH5971! she is turnedH5437 unto me: I shall be replenished [now] she is laid waste; 3thereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, TyreH6865, and will cause manyH7227 nationsH1471 to comeH5927 up against thee, as the seaH3220 causeth its waves to comeH5927 up. 4And they shall destroyH7843 the wallsH2346 of TyreH6865, and breakH2040 down her towersH4026. And I will scrape her dustH6083 from her, and makeH5414 her a bare rockH5553. 5She shall beH1961 [a place] for the spreading of netsH2764 in the midstH8432 of the seaH3220; for I have spokenH1696 [it], saith the LordH136 Jehovah; and she shall becomeH1961 a spoilH957 for the nationsH1471. 6And her daughtersH1323 that are in the fieldH7704 shall be slainH2026 by the swordH2719; and they shall knowH3045 that I [am] Jehovah. 7For thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, I will bringH935 from the northH6828, against TyreH6865, Nebuchadrezzar kingH4428 of BabylonH894, the kingH4428 of kingsH4428, with horsesH5483, and with chariotsH7393, and with horsemenH6571, and an assemblage, and muchH7227 peopleH5971. 8He shall slayH2026 with the swordH2719 thy daughtersH1323 in the fieldH7704, and he shall makeH5414 forts against thee, and cast up a mound against thee, and lift up the target against thee; 9and he shall setH5414 his engines of attack against thy wallsH2346, and with his spikes he shall breakH5422 down thy towersH4026. 10By reason of the abundanceH8229 of his horsesH5483 their dustH80 shall coverH3680 thee; thy wallsH2346 shall shakeH7493 at the noise of the horsemenH6571, and of the wheelsH1534, and of the chariotsH7393, when he shall enter through thy gatesH8179, as a cityH5892 is entered into, wherein is made a breach. 11With the hoofsH6541 of his horsesH5483 shall he tread down all thy streetsH2351; he shall slayH2026 thy peopleH5971 by the swordH2719, and the pillarsH4676 of thy strengthH5797 shall goH3381 down to the groundH776. 12And they shall makeH7760 a spoilH962 of thy riches, and makeH7760 a prey of thy wares; and they shall breakH2040 down thy wallsH2346, and destroy thy pleasant housesH1004; and they shall lay thy stonesH68 and thy timber and thy dustH6083 in the midstH8432 of the watersH4325. 13And I will cause the noise of thy songsH7892 to ceaseH7673; and the soundH6963 of thy harpsH3658 shall be no more heardH8085. 14And I will makeH5414 thee a bare rockH5553; thou shalt beH1961 [a place] for the spreading of netsH2764; thou shalt beH1961 builtH1129 no more: for I Jehovah have spokenH1696 [it], saith the Lord Jehovah. 15ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah to TyreH6865: Shall not the isles shakeH7493 at the soundH6963 of thy fall, when the woundedH2491 groanH602, when the slaughter is made in the midstH8432 of thee? 16And all the princesH5387 of the seaH3220 shall comeH3381 down from their thronesH3678, and lay asideH5493 their robesH4598, and putH3847 off their broidered garmentsH899: they shall clotheH3847 themselves with tremblingH2729, they shall sitH3427 upon the groundH776, and shall trembleH2729 [every] momentH7281, and be astonied because of thee. 17And they shall takeH5375 up a lamentationH7015 for thee, and sayH559 to thee, HowH349 hast thou perishedH6, that wast inhabitedH3427 from the seasH3220, O renowned cityH5892, which wast strongH2389 in the seaH3220, — she and her inhabitantsH3427, who caused their terrorH2851 to beH1961 on all them that dwellH3427 therein! 18NowH6258 shall the isles trembleH2729 in the dayH3117 of thy fall; and the isles that are in the seaH3220 shall be troubled at thy departure. 19For thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: When I shall makeH5414 thee a desolate cityH5892, like the citiesH5892 that are not inhabitedH3427; when I bringH5927 up the deepH8415 upon thee, and the greatH7227 watersH4325 coverH3680 thee: 20then will I bringH3381 thee downH3381, with them that goH3381 down to the pitH953, to the peopleH5971 of old time, and will cause thee to dwellH3427 in the lower partsH8482 of the earthH776, in placesH2723 desolate of old, with them that goH3381 down to the pitH953, that thou be not inhabitedH3427; and I will setH5414 glory in the landH776 of the living. 21And I will makeH5414 thee a terrorH1091, and thou shalt be no [more]; and thou shalt be soughtH1245 for, and shalt never be foundH4672 againH5750, for everH5769, saith the LordH136 Jehovah.
