Ezekiel 27
Darby Bible
1And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto me, sayingH559: 2And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, takeH5375 up a lamentationH7015 for TyreH6865, 3and sayH559 unto TyreH6865: O thou that art situate at the entries of the seaH3220, and traffickest with the peoplesH5971 in manyH7227 isles, thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Thou, TyreH6865, hast saidH559, I am perfectH3632 in beautyH3308. 4Thy bordersH1366 are in the heartH3820 of the seasH3220, thy buildersH1129 have perfectedH3634 thy beautyH3308. 5They madeH6213 all thy double boards of cypress-trees of SenirH8149; they tookH3947 cedarsH730 from LebanonH3844 to makeH6213 masts for thee. 6Of the oaksH437 of BashanH1316 did they makeH6213 thine oars; they madeH6213 thy benches of ivoryH8127, inlaid in box-wood, out of the isles of Chittim. 7Byssus with broidered work from EgyptH4714 wasH1961 thy sailH5251, to serve thee for a banner; blueH8504 and purpleH713 from the isles of ElishahH473 wasH1961 thine awning. 8The inhabitantsH3427 of Zidon and ArvadH719 wereH1961 thy rowers; thy wiseH2450 men, O TyreH6865, who wereH1961 in thee, wereH1961 thy pilots. 9The eldersH2205 of Gebal and the wiseH2450 men thereof wereH1961 in thee repairingH2388 thy leaks; all the shipsH591 of the seaH3220 with their mariners wereH1961 in thee, to barter with thee. 10PersiaH6539 and LudH3865 and Phut wereH1961 in thine armyH2428, thy menH376 of warH4421: they hangedH8518 shieldH4043 and helmetH3553 in thee; they gaveH5414 splendour to thee. 11The children of ArvadH719 with thine armyH2428 wereH1961 upon thy wallsH2346 roundH5439 about, and the Gammadim wereH1961 on thy towersH4026: they hangedH8518 their shieldsH7982 upon thy wallsH2346 roundH5439 about; they made thy beautyH3308 perfect. 12TarshishH8659 dealt with thee by reason of the abundanceH7230 of all substance; with silverH3701, ironH1270, tinH913, and leadH5777, they furnished thy markets. 13JavanH3120, TubalH8422, and MeshechH4902, they were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee the personsH5315 of menH120, and vesselsH3627 of bronzeH5178. 14They of the houseH1004 of TogarmahH8425 furnished thy markets with horsesH5483, and horsemenH6571, and mulesH6505. 15The children of DedanH1719 were thy traffickers; manyH7227 isles were the mart of thy handH3027: they rendered in payment hornsH7161 of ivoryH8127, and ebony. 16Syria dealt with thee for the multitudeH7230 of thy handiworks: they traded in thy markets with carbuncles, purpleH713, and broidered workH4639, and fineH948 linenH948, and corals, and rubiesH3539. 17JudahH3063 and the landH776 of IsraelH3478 were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee wheatH2406 of MinnithH4511, and sweet cakes, and honeyH1706, and oilH8081, and balmH6875. 18DamascusH1834 dealt with thee because of the multitudeH7230 of thy handiworks, by reason of the abundanceH7230 of all substance, with wineH3196 of Helbon, and white woolH6785. 19Vedan and JavanH3120 of Uzal traded in thy markets: wrought ironH1270, cassiaH6916, and calamusH7070 wereH1961 in thy traffic. 20DedanH1719 was thy trafficker in precious riding-cloths. 21ArabiaH6152 and all the princesH5387 of KedarH6938 were the merchants of thy handH3027: in lambsH3733, and ramsH352, and goatsH6260, in these did they trade with thee. 22The merchants of ShebaH7614 and RaamahH7484 were thy traffickers: they furnished thy markets with all the choice spicesH1314, and with all preciousH3368 stonesH68 and goldH2091. 23HaranH2771, and Canneh, and EdenH5729, the merchants of ShebaH7614, AsshurH804, and Chilmad traded with thee: 24these traded with thee in sumptuous clothes, in wrappings of blueH8504 and broidered work, and in chests full of variegated stuffs, boundH2280 with cordsH2256 and made of cedar-wood, amongst thy merchandise. 25The shipsH591 of TarshishH8659 were thy caravans for thy traffic; and thou wast replenished, and highly honoured, in the heartH3820 of the seasH3220. 26Thy rowers have broughtH935 thee into greatH7227 watersH4325; the eastH6921 windH7307 hath brokenH7665 thee in the heartH3820 of the seasH3220. 27Thy substance, and thy markets, thy merchandiseH4627, thy mariners, and thy pilots, they that repairH2388 thy leaks, and they that barter with thee, and all thy menH376 of warH4421 that are in thee, along with all thine assemblage which is in the midstH8432 of thee, shall fallH5307 into the heartH3820 of the seasH3220 in the dayH3117 of thy fallH5307. 28The openH4054 places shall shakeH7493 at the soundH6963 of the cryH2201 of thy pilots. 29And all that handle the oar, the mariners, all the pilots of the seaH3220, shall comeH3381 down from their shipsH591; they shall standH5975 upon the landH776, 30and shall cause their voiceH6963 to be heardH8085 over thee, and shall cryH2199 bitterly; and they shall cast up dustH6083 upon their headsH7218; they shall wallow themselves in ashesH665. 31And they shall makeH7139 themselves utterly bald for thee, and girdH2296 themselves with sackclothH8242; and they shall weepH1058 for thee in bitternessH4751 of soulH5315 with bitterH4751 mourningH4553. 32And in their wailing they shall takeH5375 up a lamentationH7015 for thee, and lament over thee, [saying,] Who is like TyreH6865, like her that is destroyed in the midstH8432 of the seaH3220? 33When thy wares wentH3318 forthH3318 over the seasH3220, thou filledst manyH7227 peoplesH5971; thou didst enrich the kingsH4428 of the earthH776 with the abundanceH7230 of thy substance and of thy merchandiseH4627. 34In the timeH6256 [when] thou art brokenH7665 by the seasH3220, in the depthsH4615 of the watersH4325, thy merchandiseH4627 and all thine assemblage in the midstH8432 of thee have fallenH5307. 35All the inhabitantsH3427 of the isles are amazed at thee, and their kingsH4428 are horribly afraid, [their] countenance is troubled. 36The merchants among the peoplesH5971 hissH8319 at thee; thou art becomeH1961 a terrorH1091, and thou shalt never beH1961 any more.
