Ezekiel 26
Revised Version 1895
1And it cameH1961 to passH1961 in the eleventhH6240 yearH8141, in the firstH259 dayH2320 of the monthH2320, that the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 unto meH413, sayingH559, 2SonH1121 of manH120, becauseH5921 that TyreH6865 hath saidH559 againstH5921 JerusalemH3389, AhaH1889, sheH834 is brokenH7665 that was the gate of the peoplesH5971; sheH834 is turnedH5437 unto meH413: I shall be replenished, nowH120 that sheH834 is laid waste: 3therefore thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: BeholdH2005, I am againstH5921 thee, O TyreH6865, and will cause manyH7227 nationsH1471 to comeH5927 upH5927 againstH5921 thee, as the seaH3220 causeth his wavesH1530 to comeH5927 upH5927. 4And they shall destroyH7843 the wallsH2346 of TyreH6865, and breakH2040 downH2040 herH5414 towersH4026: I will also scrapeH5500 herH5414 dustH6083 from herH5414, and makeH5414 herH5414 a bareH6706 rockH5553. 5SheH3588 shall be a placeH1961 for the spreading of netsH2764 in the midstH8432 of the seaH3220; for I have spokenH1696 it, saith the LordH136 GODH136: and sheH3588 shall becomeH1961 a spoilH957 to the nationsH1471. 6And herH3588 daughtersH1323 whichH834 are in the fieldH7704 shall be slainH2026 with the swordH2719: and they shall knowH3045 that I am the LORDH3068. 7For thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: BeholdH2005, I will bringH935 uponH935 TyreH6865 NebuchadrezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, kingH4428 of kingsH4428, from the northH6828, with horsesH5483; and with chariotsH7393, and with horsemenH6571, and a companyH6951, and muchH7227 peopleH5971. 8He shall slayH2026 with the swordH2719 thy daughtersH1323 in the fieldH7704: and he shall makeH5414 forts againstH5921 thee, and castH8210 upH6965 a mount againstH5921 thee, and raiseH6965 upH6965 the buckler againstH5921 thee. 9And he shall setH5414 his batteringH6904 engines againstH2719 thy wallsH2346, and with his axesH2719 he shall breakH5422 downH5422 thy towersH4026. 10By reason of the abundanceH8229 of his horsesH5483 their dustH80 shall coverH3680 thee: thy wallsH2346 shall shakeH7493 at the noiseH6963 of the horsemenH6571, and of the wagonsH1534, and of the chariotsH7393, when he shall enterH935 intoH935 thy gatesH8179, as men enterH935 intoH935 a cityH5892 wherein is madeH3680 a breachH1234. 11With the hoofsH6541 of his horsesH5483 shall he treadH7429 downH3381 allH3605 thy streetsH2351: he shall slayH2026 thy peopleH5971 with the swordH2719, and the pillarsH4676 of thy strengthH5797 shall goH3381 downH3381 to the groundH776. 12And they shall makeH7760 a spoilH962 of thy richesH2428, and makeH7760 a preyH962 of thy merchandiseH7404: and they shall breakH2040 downH5422 thy wallsH2346, and destroyH5422 thy pleasantH2532 housesH1004: and they shall layH7760 thy stonesH68 and thy timberH6086 and thy dustH6083 in the midstH8432 of the watersH4325. 13And I will cause the noiseH6963 of thy songsH7892 to ceaseH7673; and the soundH6963 of thy harpsH3658 shall be noH3808 moreH5750 heardH8085. 14And I will makeH5414 thee a bareH6706 rockH5553: thou shalt be a placeH5414 for the spreading of netsH2764; thou shalt be builtH1129 noH3808 moreH5750: for I the LORDH3068 have spokenH1696 it, saith the LordH3068 GODH3068. 15ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136 to TyreH6865: Shall notH3808 the islesH339 shakeH7493 at the soundH6963 of thy fallH4658, when the woundedH2491 groanH602, when the slaughterH2026 is made in the midstH8432 of thee? 16Then allH3605 the princesH5387 of the seaH3220 shall comeH3381 downH3381 from their thronesH3678, and lay asideH5493 their robesH4598, and stripH6584 offH6584 their broidered garmentsH899: they shall clotheH3847 themselvesH5921 with tremblingH2729; they shall sitH3427 uponH5921 the groundH776, and shall trembleH2729 everyH3605 momentH7281, and be astonishedH8074 at thee. 17And they shall takeH5375 upH5375 a lamentationH7015 for thee, and sayH559 to thee, HowH349 art thou destroyedH6, that wast inhabitedH3427 of seafaring menH3605, the renowned cityH5892, whichH834 wast strongH2389 in the seaH3220, sheH1931 and herH3605 inhabitantsH3427, whichH834 causedH1961 their terrorH2851 to be on allH3605 that haunt it! 18NowH6258 shall the islesH339 trembleH2729 in the dayH3117 of thy fallH4658; yea, the islesH339 that are in the seaH3220 shall be dismayedH926 at thy departureH3318. 19For thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: When I shall makeH5414 thee a desolate cityH5892, like the citiesH5892 that are notH3808 inhabitedH3427; when I shall bringH5927 upH5927 the deepH8415 uponH5921 thee, and the greatH7227 watersH4325 shall coverH3680 thee; 20then will I bringH3381 thee downH3381 with them that descendH3381 intoH413 the pitH953, to the peopleH5971 of oldH5769 time, and will makeH5414 thee to dwellH3427 in the netherH8482 partsH8482 of the earthH776, in the placesH2723 that are desolate of oldH5769, with them that goH3381 downH3381 to the pitH953, that thou be notH3808 inhabitedH3427; and I will setH5414 glory in the landH776 of the livingH3427: 21I will makeH5414 thee a terrorH1091, and thou shalt be noH3808 moreH5750: thoughH369 thou be soughtH1245 for, yet shalt thou neverH3808 be foundH4672 againH5750, saith the LordH136 GODH136.
